Post 2020 Draft Matches We Need to See

Last week the 2020 WWE draft took place and fans witnessed major changes made to the state of both the RAW and Smackdown rosters. Throughout the next seven days, I'm going to be taking an in depth look at the recent draft sharing my thoughts and what we could be looking at in the near future in terms of new storylines, matches, and rivalries! Today we are going to be focusing on both brands as I list five new and exciting rivalries I would love to see! Keep in mind I will be looking at the men, women's, and tag team division in this post!

Sheamus vs Keith Lee

Anyone who knows me sure knows that I have been the biggest Sheamus fan from day one and as a huge Sheamus mark I have loved seeing him take part in genuinely strong storylines and matches since his most recent return particularly against the likes of Big E and Jeff Hardy. His recent move to Monday nights sets the Irish star up for more exciting angles and bouts that can remind us all of how good he really is but a fresh rivalry with newly debuting Keith Lee could be one with the greatest potential. From the moment Sheamus arrived on the scene he has been pushed a top big guy with strength and power on his side and that has been highlighted perfectly more recently during his rivalry with Smackdown's Big E. Looking at the current state out of the RAW roster it's evident that Sheamus can do a great deal in helping new talents, no one more than former NXT Champion, Keith Lee. The collision between the two powerhouses is promising to say the least and the former WWE titleholder makes for the perfect man to showcase Lee's potential, power and give him the push he needs at this stage of his career; not to mention the angle is sure to do great things for Sheamus despite his position and role within the rivalry.

Bianca Belair vs Sasha Banks

For quite some time now I have been discussing how much I want to see Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair collide and after the recent draft left them both as part of the blue brand it appears as though we are closer than ever to seeing that dream match take place. It's rare we see two characters so sure to compliment one another. There are evident similarities between the two women thanks to their cocky, arrogant, sassy attitudes which promises a character clash for the ages. What is also striking here is the differences within their move sets; Banks represents the perfect classic pro wrestler. She has the experience, the veteran status, and a move set that proves it full of diversity and wrestling skill unlike any other while the EST of the WWE has clear power, strength, and athleticism on her side and when sharing a ring with someone like the Boss there can be no denying that fans are likely to see some of the best wrestling we have seen from the up and coming star to date.

New Day vs Hurt Business

I don't know about you but I am desperate to see stronger work from the tag team division and the big changes we have seen during the draft promises potential for a better future for the tag teams. Current champs and now RAW members the New Day have several new teams they can look to collide with including The Hurt Business. MVP and crew have spent the last few months growing in popularity as a faction and credibility and I have to admit that they have become one of my favorite things about Monday Night RAW. Now, a rivalry between these two teams is so exciting for the sheer fact that they represent something so different. The New Day is about fun and positivity while the Hurt business... well it says it all in the name, right? The contrast is strong that it promises in-depth storytelling that could make for exciting viewing. From MVP tryna to recruit Kingston, reminding him of his time as champion and his potential if he took a more serious approach to touching on the now absence of Big E. This is the entertaining and fresh content fans are asking for from the tag team division.

Daniel Bryan vs Seth Rollins

From their collisions during their time in ROH to the brief encounters we have seen from them in the WWE, Daniel Bryan vs Seth Rollins one on one in a full-on rivalry as top singles stars in World Wrestling Entertainment is something fans have been wanting to see for many years and it appears we may finally be on the road to seeing that take place! As two of the biggest names on the blue brand and arguably two of the best wrestlers on the scene today this is a dream match and rivalry that writes itself. We don't' need to see an all-out storyline (despite the fact that would be pretty damn special and could too have great layers to it) we simply only have to see these two given twenty minutes and the WWE universe is sure to be treated to something very exciting indeed. An obvious potential match of the year candidate this is one of the most in-demand and requested matches to come out of the recent draft.

Alexa Bliss vs Asuka

Later in the week, I'm going to be taking a look at some of the exciting storylines and matches we can expect from the women's division post the 2020 Draft but I could not write this today without including the inevitable Alexa Bliss vs Asuka rivalry we are sure to get. In recent months fans have been watching some incredible storytelling involving Bliss and the Fiend with both now apart of Monday nights there are so many exciting angles sure to come including both. One of the rivalries we can expect to see down the line is, of course, Alexa Bliss vs Asuka, and we could very well sit back and witness the former champion dethrone Asuka in an angle I'm confident many fans are expecting and exciting to see. We are seeing so many changes to Alexa and her in-ring style and so watching her collide with Asuka during this new phase is sure to be very exciting and a highlight for the women's division.

AJ Styles vs Drew McIntyre

During his reign as WWE champion Drew McIntyre has taken part in genuinely strong and exciting matches against the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, and more and to this day has managed to keep hold of his title reigning as the WWE champion since Wrestlemania. The shakeup of the WWE draft has left McIntyre with new names sure to be gunning for his WWE title and one of the most likely names sure to have his eyes set on gold is AJ Styles. The former champion makes for one of the biggest threats to Drew and his reign but also a completely different kind of opponent to what he has faced so far. This collision will make for one to watch but also could so easily be a critical step within his reign as champion. Matchups against the phenomenal one are sure to bring out the best in Drew, pushing him to new limits while also finally proving once and for all that he is the man of the WWE day and a true top star.

And those are just some of the exciting matches I cannot wait to watch thanks to the WWE draft! Throughout the week I will be bringing you more posts like this but in the meantime, I would love to know what you guys are excited for and what post-2020 draft matches you want to see by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.
