WWE 2020 Draft: 6 Superstars Who Could Move Brands
The latest WWE Draft is set to take place very soon and there is a lot to look forward to with potential new storylines and angles to take place from the changes coming up. Over the next week, we can expect to see drastic changes to the landscape of both RAW and Smackdown as well as new potential NXT faces arriving on the main roster. In today’s blog post I’m going to be discussing some of the potential drafts we could be about to see and who I personally would like to see make the move from one brand to another!
Baron Corbin (RAW)
Kind Corbin has been a consistent part of Smackdown for a
while now and during his time on the blue brand has faced off against any and
everyone from Gable to Sheamus, from Riddle to Hardy and has done at this point
pretty much has done all he can do and its time to move onto something new and
exciting. The past year has seen Corbin come so far in winning over the WWE
universe, working stronger matches and developing his character further and its
clear that with the right direction he could so easily be a major main event
champion in the near future. Moving to RAW will allow Corbin to re-enter the spotlight
working new storylines against new opponents in fresh angles. Challenging WWE
Champion Drew McIntyre could see a huge career turn around for the former King
of the Ring winner regardless of the result as well as working as a brilliant
new fresh challenge for McIntyre.
Ricochet (Smackdown)
There is no superstar I want to see have a change of luck
than Ricochet. The WWE has made a real mess when it comes to this former
United States Champion but with the skill set he possesses and the likeability of
his character there is no denying that things can so easily be turned around
for Ricochet and the first step in improving things for him is quite clearly a
move to Smackdown. Stepping away from the problems he has had with the Hurt Business
and moving away from alliances he has been stuck within recent months will allow
him to explore new options and re-build momentum. The Smackdown roster is full of
stars that could step into the ring with Ricochet and remind us all of the top
talent he really is. From facing off against the likes of Jeff Hardy, Cesaro,
Drew Gulak and John Morrison to name a few promises five-star quality action
from Ricochet that could get him back into conversations and possibly a shot at
the IC title down the line. There needs to be a re-focus for this former NXT talent
and a fresh start on the blue brand is a clear step in the right direction.
The Forgotten Sons (RAW)
It’s been a while since we saw the Forgotten Sons on WWE TV
(for reasons I would rather not touch on) but appears as though the trio are looking
to make their return to action very soon and after plans for Smackdown push
didn’t go to plan it may seem best to move them onto something completely new
and head over to Monday Night RAW where storylines are already awaiting them
and a major push can be put into play if this is something the WWE still have
planned for them. Taking on the Street Profits and dethroning the champs would
make for a strong way to kick start their RAW run, establish them as the new
top heel tag team and create some interest and something new for the tag
division which to be honest is much needed!
Peyton Royce (Smackdown)
I really don’t want to believe that the IIConics are over
but with the split official and Peyton Royce rumoured to be favoured by Vince
McMahon, it appears as though we are just going to have to accept the fact the
WWE have split the best put together and legit tag team of the women’s
division. Now, Peyton has been very
impressive in recent months and so its no surprise to see her looking to receive
a push and a fresh start over on Smackdown may just see her head in the
direction she needs to be in. While it's unlikely we will see her as women’s
champion any time soon gaining momentum, working storylines as a solo star and
competing in longer matches is vital and something, we are sure to see over on
Smackdown. The women’s division over on the blue brand needs some new faces and
a fresh boost and collisions against the likes of Lacey Evans and Naomi could
showcase just how strong Peyton is in the ring and present the best we have
seen from her as a wrestler.
Braun Strowman (RAW)
It’s no secret that Drew McIntyre will soon be in need of
new contenders to his WWE Championship and a collision that I would love to see
take places involves the Scottish star meeting one on one with Braun Strowman.
We have already seen the former Universal Champion appear on RAW Underground
and a recent episode of Monday Night RAW and so the move to Monday nights
appears to be highly likely and fitting move for his career. Now, it's not only
meeting with McIntyre that makes this move something I want to see but also
collision against names such as Bobby Lashley for the United States
championship amongst other new fresh angles that have me interested in this roster
change. In recent months we have seen the best character work from Strowman we
have arguably ever seen and while I believe there are a few angles he could
still, work on Smackdown its time for him to move as far away from the fiend as
possible and onto something new.
Chelsea Green
There has been so much talk in recent months about Chelsea
Green and her WWE status. After moving from NXT there were rumours of her being
apart of Retribution as well as joining the Smackdown roster but so far nothing
has come of these rumours and she remains a star many anticipate seeing joining
either RAW or Smackdown. The up and coming draft looks to be where we will see
Green makes her arrival on either brand and when it comes to which show she will
go to its clear that either will be an interesting fit for her and she is sure to
create an impact wherever she goes. Collisions against names such as Asuka and
Bianca Belair over on RAW would sure promise exciting must-see matchups, however,
her presence on Smackdown will bring that something new and fresh the women’s
division on the blue brand is in need of.
There of course, are other names we could have touched on
today. From Keith Lee moving to Smackdown to Nikki Cross joining RAW as well as
NXT names such as Johnny Gargano and Rhea Ripley joining the main roster but Of
course I would love to know what you guys think so feel free to leave a comment
below letting me know what you would like to see during draft week!
