AEW/IMPACT Wrestling Crossover Dream Matches
During the special Winter is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite
fans learnt that there would be a crossover between AEW and IMPACT wrestling as
the two promotions look to work together in the near future as Kenny Omega
looks to make a one off appearance over on IMPACT. The exciting news has me
anticipating so many dream matches and as a fan of both companies its clear
that this could be hugely beneficial on both sides and interesting new step as
we look to enter 2021. In today’s blog post I am going to be discussing some of
my dream AEW/IMPACT wrestling crossover matches and trust me I could include
plenty but I’m going to be sticking to five today.
Thunder Rosa vs Deonna Purrazzo
With Thunder Rosa working more and more for AEW I’ve decided
I have got to include her in this list for if Thunder Rosa vs Deonna Purrazzo is
not on your list of dream matches then…we cannot be friends. I genuinely
believe here we have two of the best female wrestlers on the scene today both
serious knowledge of the game, a brilliant track record and plenty of
experience. Throughout the careers of both women we have seen them work
incredible matches, make history and raise the bar and I would love nothing
more than to see them meet in the ring and provide us all with an epic wrestling
encounter. Both women are incredibly skilled and what would sure is an instant
classic that could go down as one of the best matches of the year.
Jon Moxley vs Eddie Edwards
One of the main reasons I have been such a big IMPACT fan in
recent years has got to be Eddie Edwards. The former champion went from top tag
team competitor to one of the biggest solo stars in the IMPACT zone. An intense
character with an even more intense move set Edwards has worked some of the
best IMPACT matches of the past five years shining a light not only on his
fantastic wrestling ability but the hardcore style we all know and love. A
collision with another hardcore wrestling talent in Moxley is without a doubt a
major dream match. Similar builds and move sets means we could see one close
called hardcore encounter but considering both men have so much experience and
a skilled wrestling background means there is every chance we could have a very
special match up here between two very similar stars both as characters and as
wrestlers.
Diamante vs Kiera Hogan
To this day I believe that Kiera Hogan is one of the most
underrated knockouts over in IMPACT wrestling. While she may not have as much
experience as some of the other women on the roster but throughout recent years
she has delivered in the ring proving to be a fast-paced competitor with
brilliant wrestling skills and ability working some truly strong entertaining
matches. What Kiera really needs is time, the more time she is given to compete
the more she really does impress. Working alongside Diamante would be pretty
awesome to see! Not only are the pair a real-life couple but their styles are
most certainly sure to complement each other with Diamante most certainly able
to bring out the best in Hogan pushing her to new limits. The hard-hitting,
sassy attitude and wrestling abilities of both women promises an exciting match
with serious potential not to mention a career highlight for Hogan in
particular.
The North vs FTR
There can be no denying that The North have been the
strongest tag team over in IMPACT wrestling for a couples of years now with the
division only having more depth added to it in recent months. The team of Josh
Alexander and Ethan Page have taken part in so many fantastic matchups that
have saved the division over in the IMPACT zone but when we talk about team
matches especially in the world of tag team competition then the North vs FTR
is a for sure must-see. FTR are most certainly right near the top spot in the
topic of the greatest tag teams on the scene today and while IMPACT may not have
the biggest audience resulting in the North not having the praise they fully
deserve, in my opinion, they make the top ten best on the scene today and a
collision with FTR could seriously remind the Wrestling community just how good
these two really are. Both teams certainly have their similarities with the
depths of their wrestling abilities but with The North having the power
advantage this is a top-quality dream match that will remind us all of how
strong tag team wrestling really is today.
Abadon vs Su Yung
Two of the most captivating women’s division characters in
the world of pro wrestling has got to be Su Yung and Abadon. Tow haunting
stars with terrifying styles and personas these women are sure to bring you
nightmares but when in the ring they will most certainly captivate you. Now
Yung has plenty more experience on Abadon but what better way for the young
star to make an impact and get people talking about her than a collision with
the former champion Su Yung. I am personally very excited to see more from
Abadon as her career continues to develop and a talent a talent like Su could
really show us the depths of her move set showcasing her power and versatile
move set but the biggest take away here will be seeing these two huge
theatrical characters collide.
Ethan Page vs MJF
Let's be honest, we would all be entertained by seeing Ethan Page and MJF simply both given a mic for half an hour in the same ring. As two cocky arrogant heels with incredible mic skills they too have so many similarities but can also deliver incredibly well in the ring. Their characters alone sell this match and with so many easily to forget how good Page is this would be a brilliant way to remind us all how good he is as a singles star and given enough time the two could impress massively in a lengthy bout putting aside their characters.
Of course, there are so many more matches I wanted to talk
about in this blog post, today and I will be writing a part two so keep an eye
