Current WWE Superstars Who Should Appear on RAW Underground
This week on RAW the WWE introduced a brand-new concept, RAW Underground. A backyard style setting, a ring with no ropes, no rules, and dancers. The introduction was made by Shane McMahon and has divided fan opinion, personally, this is something I am a fan of! I really enjoyed this and loved seeing something different, raw, and an element that takes us back to the days of the attitude era. During this week’s RAW underground, we witnessed the Hurt Business and Erik from the Viking Raiders take part but in today’s blog post I’m going to be taking a look at other superstars who should make an appearance on RAW underground. Keep in mind that during this post I will be discussing talent from RAW, Smackdown, and NXT!
Shayna Baszler
The former two-time NXT Women’s champion, Shayna Baszler has
had an interesting main roster journey so far and her booking hasn’t quite gone
down the way in which many expected and its time to see things turn around for
her! The introduction of RAW Underground is very exciting and evidently caters
to the style and personalities of many current superstars including Baszler. We
know for a fact that she is one of the most dangerous and ruthless stars not
only of the women’s division but the WWE as a whole and performing for RAW
underground is sure to highlight that once again and remind us all of how barbaric
and intense she is. This kind of spotlight is the refreshing segment Baszler
needs to get fans talking again, give her character a boost and showcase her as
the dangerous star she is easing her back into the conversation for champion
and an incredibly intense title reign she could have.
Timothy Thatcher
In all honesty, I cannot think of a superstar more suited to
RAW underground than NXT talent Timothy Thatcher. Now, this could be an interesting
way to showcase some of the NXT Talent looking to make more of an impact and
who may not currently be involved in a huge storyline. Thatcher is a dangerous
yet smart name in the WWE today with a move set that punishes his opponents
like no other. He also sports an intense, harsh, no-nonsense character that
comes across intimidating, combining all these factors means he is sure to have
a standout showing on RAW Underground that adds more to his character and gets
people talking. If we are looking at NXT Talent to compete on RAW Underground,
then Thatcher has got to be near the very top of that list!
Sonya Deville
A woman with serious potential who we are seeing truly step
into their own right now is, of course, Sonya Deville. In recent months Sonya has
really been making an impact and with her character developing more and more as
the weeks go by she Is beginning to shine as a for sure future champion! Now,
RAW Underground makes for the perfect setting for Deville to again make an
impact and get people talking. Her rough style and MMA background are sure to make
her the perfect talent to step in RAW Underground and make her name known. We
are beginning to see more and more of Deville and how dangerous and ruthless
she is but a showing on RAW underground could really be the thing that shows
how different she is to the rest of the female roster and give her an extra
push especially as a character.
Brock Lesnar
There is no superstar I want to see take part on RAW
Underground than Brock Lesnar. Incredibly fitting, we could see him go through
every single man present and with Heyman at ringside especially on a mic, we
could see some fantastic entertainment that creates something a little
different to what we have been seeing from Lesnar throughout the past five
years or so. The refreshing angle is sure to see some exciting moments from Brock
and the star power of the former champion will do wonders for RAW Underground
and telling fans what it is all about. The new concept is something that is
incredibly well suited to the character of Brock and could be an exciting and
fresh way to bring him back on the scene.
Sheamus
In recent months we have seen some of the best character
work from Sheamus than we have seen in many years! We are being reminded of the
ruthless and barbaric former champion we saw during his debut year that set him
apart from the rest and made him so incredibly standout. The introduction of
RAW Underground is something that caters to the character of Sheamus so well, a side we haven’t seen in a while! We forget how dangerous and rough around the
edges the Irish star truly is and seeing his performance during the bar match
with Jeff Hardy showcased that side of him again. Going back to his roots and
that original portrayal of his character is key in pushing him in the right
direction and making him a relevant and interesting character on the roster
today and RAW Underground would be perfect!
Aleister Black
Aleister Black is a man we are seeing a lot of fans talk
about at the moment especially with rumours suggesting that there may have been
some faith lost in the former NXT Women’s Champion backstage; however, he
remains a favourite of the WWE Universe and someone we really do want to see
well. In terms of character and his brutal style, there can be no denying Black
is sure to fit in extremely well when it comes to an appearance on RAW
underground. This would be an excellent way to have him make the first appearance
back following the attack from Murphy and Rollins and set him off on a new
path. Here we can see a new side to Aleister introduced and his dark, barbaric
and dangerous side showcased better than we have seen since he joined the main
roster.
There of course, are so many other names I would love to see
make an appearance on RAW Underground across all three brands but the names above
sure do top the list as the ones most fitted and likely to benefit the most! Other
names include Baron Corbin, Kay Lee Ray, Killian Dane and Braun Strowman! Of
