Current NXT Standouts I'm Loving

I have recently spent some time catching up on WWE NXT after a few weeks of missing some shows and I have to say there has been a lot I have enjoyed watching and with new names surfacing, a change in the dynamic and new promising angles I have been reminded of why I have always loved the black and gold brand so much! Today I am going to be looking at some of the NXT Stars I have been enjoying as of recent and what I think they will go on to do in the coming months!

 THIS POST WAS PRE WRITTEN

Grizzled Young Veterans

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the Grizzled Young Veterans! The duo has proven time and time again to be a consistent team destined for great things and it appears they are really coming into their own and standing out as a key team within the NXT Tag division. Their recent performance in the Dusty Classic put a huge spotlight on the British team and as their momentum and popularity grows its clear we are looking at future champions! Fantastic believable heels The Grizzled Young Veterans are an exciting tag team I cannot wait to see even more of and go on to capture gold possibly at some point soon.

Zoey Stark

The NXT Women’s division has really been growing in numbers and continues to be the number one spot for women’s wrestling in the WWE today. New names are taking the spotlight and a home-grown champion has added to the appeal of the division. One of the most impressive women we have been watching recently has without a doubt been Zoey Stark. From teaming alongside the likes of Io Shirai and working fantastic short matches including a takeover preshow collision with Toni Storm, Stark has become a seriously promising talent. With experience on her side Stark has been showing off her diverse move set full of both strength and athleticism. Moving forward, stronger storylines and longer matches are sure to work in her favour and give Zoey a stronger position on the roster. We have some seriously impressive stuff to come and I believe Stark is going to work some incredible matches with her move set sure to compliment many other talents.

Isaiah Swerve Scott

Anyone who knows me knows that I have been a huge fan of Isaiah Swerve Scott for an awfully long time! Dating back to his Lucha Underground days he has been a talent I have absolutely loved, and it has been extremely refreshing and exciting to see him finally booked strongly and given a clear direction. Recent Falls Count Anywhere match against Leon Ruff was a major standout for both men, however, what made this so good for Scott was the amount of character we saw from him. Since his heel turn, Isaiah has seriously upped his game as an all-round star and his charisma have stood out far more thanks to more depth to his character. This match highlighted not only the agility we know him to have been his strength working as the powerhouse of the contest as well as his ruthless style and aggression. Another key factor that has come into play for Scott is placing him as the leader of a new faction. The addition of Hit Row to the black and gold brand has presented something completely fresh and exciting! New faces, a fresh dynamic, and an opportunity for Swerve to shine brighter than ever before puts him at the top of his game and the strongest position we have seen him since his arrival in NXT.

Santos Escobar

I have to mention Santos Escobar in this post today. From his epic NXT Takeover collision with Finn Balor to the continuous strong promos and segments he has become a standout star and someone I really have been enjoying watching. Without a doubt one of the best and most influential cruiserweight champions he has continued to shine a spotlight on the division even without the title around his waist while positioning himself as the leader of a dominant, growing and impressive faction. Now, I do worry about how long his momentum will last and what the WWE have planned for him but this is a man who time and time again proves himself not only in the ring but as a character within NXT and especially the cruiserweight division.

Indi Hartwell

A woman I have seriously become a big fan of is Indi Hartwell. A year ago, fans didn’t know all too much about the newcomer at all, however, since aligning herself with Candice LeRae and joining the Way she has gone from strength to strength and become genuinely an entertaining talent with very visible potential. I’ll admit that at first, I didn’t quite get the pairing and wasn’t completely sold however, her romance storyline with Dexter Lumis put a huge spotlight on her charisma and entertainment factor and ever since week by week I have become a stronger fan of Hartwell. The little details have been so key here with facial expressions and the execution of certain segments, it’s clear she is throwing herself into this role completely and it has been paying off incredibly well. We also must mention her in-ring improvements. The recent tag team championship street fight was the highlight of Indi’s in-ring career so far. She held her own in a match that involved three big-time talents with much more experience than here and after walking out as one of half of the new NXT Women’s tag team champions she is seriously turning heads and set to have more entertaining moments moving forward.
