What Fans Can Expect from WWE Survivor Series 2018

This weekend the WWE will host the two thousand and eighteen Survivor Series pay per view. The Annual event will see the stars of RAW and Smackdown LIVE go head to head in the only night of the year and after an intense build its safe to say that this Sunday's show could very easily be one of the best of the year! In today’s blog post we are going to diving into Survivor Series and looking at what fans can expect this coming weekend at one of the biggest WWE PPV’s of the year.

Becky Lynch Makes a Vital Appearance

Despite being pulled from arguably the most anticipated match of the year fans are still expecting to see Becky Lynch make an appearance this coming weekend at the Survivor Series pay per view. Her champion vs champion match against Rousey was for some the match they were tuning in to watch this weekend and news of Lynch's injury was extremely frustrating. With that being said many are expecting Becky to make an appearance this weekend causing the match up between Ronda and now Charlotte Flair to end much quicker than some may expect. Now, if we truly think about this the idea does make a heck of a lot of sense. While Lynch cannot compete it would be a huge mistake to have her completely miss out on the PPV and so to see her show up early into the contest causing some kind of distraction that ends the match quick sets up plenty for the future. It allows Charlotte Flair to get another shot at facing Rousey in the future with the argument that she never truly got a match out of her and wants to prove she can beat the badest woman on the planet but on an even more exciting note it sets up a definite future match between Lynch and Rousey which has arguably become more anticipated and must see then Rousey vs Flair.

Smackdown LIVE Take Home the Men’s Victory

For the past two years now, Monday night RAW has taken home the overall victory at Survivor Series topping Smackdown LIVE and proving to be the superior brand; however, twenty nineteen may just promise something new. The RAW teams do look to be struggling more to work as a cohesive team and with Smackdown LIVE having a great deal of momentum, a strong team, and more motivation this Sunday could see the blue team come up on top. It would be a huge loss if they struggled to once again take the victory and what I’m hoping we see is RAW slowly break down and cost each other the men’s traditional Survivor Series matchup including Corbin somehow involved in an elimination involving Strowman.

Dean Ambrose Attacks Rollins & Nakamura has the best Performance of the Year

Another massively anticipated match this weekend is the champion vs champion bout between Smackdown’s US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and RAW’s IC Champion, Seth Rollins. This is a dream match if there ever was one with wrestling fans spending years waiting to see these two talents collide in what is destined to be a potential match of the year candidate provided they have a decent amount of ring time. This is a seriously important PPV for Nakamura who has spent far too long fading into the background; he’s in desperate need of a standout performance and this must-see against Rollins is a huge opening for him and exactly what the former NXT champ has needed.

The end result of this contest is also another big talking point. The story between Dean Ambrose and Rollins is forever growing and with Ambrose sporting, such a major chip on his shoulder fans can expect him to make an appearance this weekend ruining yet another moment for his former friend. Attacking Rollins or causing some kind of distractions allow Nakamura to still gain an important victory while also not destroying too much momentum from Rollins.

Drew McIntyre Is Established as the Next Top Star

Over the past few months, the WWE has done everything right by Drew McIntyre. Finally taking him to the next level we have truly been given reason to believe the Scottish star is on his own path to becoming the next top star on Monday night RAW. Set to take part in the traditional Mens Survivor Series elimination match many are expecting McIntyre to have another dominant performance from eliminations, standout in-ring work, and collisions with possible teams’ mates. Whether it be showing tension between McIntyre and Strowman or McIntyre taking home the win for RAW instead of Strowman, Survivor Series is set to be a promising night for McIntyre and will reveal a lot in terms of what fans can expect in the coming months from him.

Asuka or Ruby Riot are the Lone Survivor

The women's five on five elimination match is an interesting one this year with names placed in the matchup we probably wouldn't have expected. Names including Sasha Banks, Bayley, and the IIconics have all been left out despite being favourites to participate, however, with that being said I have to mention that I really like the idea of seeing different women compete and given the spotlight this weekend particularly the line up for the RAW women's team. I do believe we could get some special moments from this match this weekend keeping in mind that they hopefully are given a solid amount of time. In that slot, I'd love to see the likes of Sonya Deville, Ruby Riott, and Tamina are given a great deal of time to really stand out and have their moment, however, its Riott and Asuka who I believe need to benefit the most from this bout. Asuka is in desperate need of gaining momentum and with her crowd reactions being so strong it would not surprise me if the empress of tomorrow is the last woman standing this weekend which can hopefully lead her onto having bigger up and coming matches and maybe even a title shot against Lynch. On the flip side, Ruby Riott is a woman I am desperate to see more of in the up and coming year and a dominant and impressive performance this weekend could be vital!

Bryan and Lesnar Main Event

We have seen the traditional men's Survivor Series elimination match headline the majority of Survivor Series pay per views particularly in recent years, however, this weekend fans can expect to see Lesnar vs Bryan main event the huge PPV event. Two of the biggest stars in the WWE today this is anticipated match that has got the WWE universe buzzing and looking at the card now there isn't a match more worthy of main eventing this weekends show. We can expect plenty from this match regardless but with it being such a must see, long-awaited, anticipated matches of the past decade it must main event.

And those are some of the things I believe fans can expect to see this weekend at the Survivor Series pay per view but what would you like to see? Feel free to leave a comment below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria telling me what you are expecting this weekend.
