Six Inevitable WWE Superstar Heel Turns

We all know the importance of good character work in the world of pro wrestling. Throughout the years many men and women have proven to shine brighter in certain roles whether it be the bad guy, the good guy, or the underdog and in previous blog posts we have looked at those who standout out more in particular roles; Today we are going to be focusing on a similar topic, however, this time around I’m going to be counting down six inevitable heel turns. There are as of right now certain storyline’s that appear to be heading in the direction of a turn and superstars who show signs of a heel turn on the way. We are going to be focusing on exactly that today so get a drink prepared as we dive into an interesting topic!

THIS POST WAS PRE POSTED A MONTH AGO AND SO SOME EVENTS MAY HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED

Sasha Banks

In all honesty, I have begun to doubt whether the WWE will ever actually turn Sasha Banks heel. Her storyline with Bayley sets up the perfect opportunity for a turn to take place yet a year in and so many opportunities have gone by where the WWE hasn’t capitalized. Looking at where their story currently sits there I still an open door for this to happen and while it's been teased Bayley may be the one to turn heel it still feels pretty inevitable that the Boss will resume her role as the story villain and if done correctly could still be a huge hit/success.

EC3

Moving over to NXT and I must admit that I’m surprised the WWE haven’t pushed EC3 as a heel from the get. After making his return it’s been clear the former IMPACT Wrestling star belongs in the role of a heel. He’s both stronger and generally more entertaining in this role and I was massively surprised to see him pushed as a babyface so much since returning to the WWE. Now, with such an amazing track record as the bad guy and considering the character he is working right now, anyone can see he belongs in the role of a heel and its only a matter of time before we do see that. A possible double turn during his rivalry with Lars Sullivan is a possibility but regardless there is a feeling that its only a matter of time before he turns and when he does we really will see him go to greater heights.

Charlotte Flair

Keeping on the topic of double turns, Charlotte Flair is up next. Now, this is a pre-posted post and so by the time this is uploaded Charlotte may have already resumed her role as the villain Queen of Smackdown LIVE but as of right now talks of a double turn are still going strong. Fans know that Flair is better suited in the role of a heel especially during this current feud with Becky Lynch. Fans instantly took Lynch’s side and while the WWE has tired pushing Flair as a face it hasn’t been successful. She comes across as the heel without even trying and an eventual double turn that sees her back in the position of a heel is most certainly inevitable.

Bobby Roode

If I’m being totally honest, it’s been a while since I’ve personally had any interest in anything Bobby Roode related. He has massively fallen into the background and been failed since joining the main roster particularly since moving over to Monday night RAW. As of right now, he finds himself teaming up with former NXT Tag Team Champion in Chad Gable forming a new tag team together that generally has very little interest from fans. The two share a lack of chemistry and the pairing makes very little sense. However, what this has done is set up the perfect opportunity to turn Roode heel. Gable makes for a very likable, babyface underdog and it does feel as though I’m sitting back and just waiting for Roode to turn on his new partner and resume a role where he has more potential and fans have a greater interest!

Dean Ambrose

And to conclude this post we have the man that inspired this blog post in the first place, Dean Ambrose. Again, by the time this is uploaded we may have already seen Ambrose turn on his Shield brothers but as of when I’m writing this the WWE continues to tease the very action and the perfect time for Ambrose to turn appears to be growing. From the moment he made his huge return to action fans have been speculating when he will turn and the story revolving around that. We’ve seen Ambrose pushed as the “weaker member” of the Shield which sets up such a great opportunity for him to turn on both Reigns and Rollins and with rumors of a triple threat between them for the Universal title down the line means this is a superstar, a heel turn, and a story to really keep your eyes on!

And there we go! That is the end of today’s blog post! I had so much fun writing this and of course, would love to know what you guys think so feel free to leave a comment below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria
