Why Braun Strowman MUST Become Universal Champion at Crown Jewel

With Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar set to go one on one for the Universal Championship at the Crown Jewel live special fans are promised a brand-new champion to be crowned but exactly who out of the beast and the monster will walk out victorious? While there is an argument for Lesnar to once again strut around with the belt around his waist, in today’s blog post we are going to be looking at the five reasons why Braun Strowman should in fact finally take home one of the most prestigious prizes in professional wrestling.

A Long Time Coming

For well over a year now, Braun Strowman has been established as one of the biggest attractions over On Monday nights. The revival of the brand split provided the up and comer with one huge opportunity he grabbed with both hands earning the right to be named one of the top stars in the WWE today. From standout matches against the likes of The Big Show and Roman Reigns as well as endless dominant performances, huge victories, and epic rivalries, the monster has been a face the WWE universe has been desperate to see take the top spot sat comfortably as the Universal champion. Throughout the last twelve months alone Strowman has come close on many different occasions and regardless of position changes, he has remained a superstar strongly the favourite to become champ and now the timing could not be more right. This win is a long long time coming.

A Fighting Champion

The problem I and so many others had with the previous WWE universal Championship run of Brock Lesnar was how little we saw both him and the championship. The RAW roster is stacked full of amazing talents with so much to offer and not seeing the title defended, those opportunities given to worthy opponents, and a fighting champion made the reign itself become irritating and at times forgettable. Braun Strowman is the perfect face to push the idea of a fighting champion. Not afraid of getting the ring and accepting challengers from any direction, Strowman is the figure both RAW has needed and fans have been waiting for! Regular title defenses, consistent appearances, and an epic all-round championship reign providing opportunities for other roster members, it’s Strowman out of the two competitors who can bring the most while also providing exactly what Monday nights has needed for so long.

The Next Step for Drew McIntyre

I’ll admit that there was a time I worried for Drew McIntyre. Massively worthy of a huge push I doubted whether he would, in fact, get that or instead fall back down the ladder once again, however, the WWE have managed his main roster run amazingly well so far and with the Scottish Star setting his sights on the Monster Among men he edges closer to the Universal Championship. Now, I’m all for seeing McIntyre and Lesnar working something that evidently has potential, however, with the seeds planted for McIntyre and so much to look forward to between he and Strowman I’m given more reason to get behind the monster as this title match approaches. With Strowman holding the title we get closer to seeing McIntyre have his own dominant championship Reigns as the former NXT champion reaches heights he has always deserved to be at throughout his wrestling career.

A New Beast is Established

While you can’t take anything away from Brock Lesnar, the impact he has made, and the presence he provides whenever he shows up there is also no denying the fact that we need something new. Putting the Universal Championship back on Lesnar is a massive step backward in every sense of the word. I don’t doubt he will once again be champion at some point in his career but Monday nights are crying out for something new and despite Strowman also sporting that dominant big guy image he’s a different kind of superstar, a regular face, and again, a fighting champion. Lesnar losing to Strowman isn’t s flaw in his career nor anything that could harm him but instead will establish a new beast, a passing of the torch, and a new era on Monday nights breaking away from the same faces we have seen for a long time!

The New Land of Opportunity

The thought of Braun Strowman being champion very exciting. We have already touched on the importance of having a fighting champion and just how much Strowman can provide that however, what this also does is introduce a great all-around opportunity for a variety of different names. We’ve seen Braun take on new challengers every single week and with that same idea going forward with him as champion it means names we may not have expected to get a title match so soon could, in fact, get just that. The likes of Finn Balor, Baron Corbin, Elias, Bobby Roode and so many more make for great challengers all of which Strowman can welcome into the ring simply to prove he is the best, a fighting champ, and unbeatable.

Because He Must

And finally, I believe Braun Strowman should walk out of Crown Jewel as Universal Champion because… he must. Throughout the past year and a half, Braun has come so close yet so far away too many times before. Title matches, the Money in the Bank, opportunity after opportunity and he still hasn’t got his hands on the title he deserves so greatly. Failing to walk out as champ and to fall to Brock Lesnar once again will set him back massively and while you can take away his star quality and clear potential he possesses, there really is only so many knocks he can take before the momentum fades and he falls too hard. He’s the man who cannot afford another loss and must walk out with championship to elevate him to the top where he belongs and needs to be.

And those are just some of the reasons why I believe Braun Strowman must become the Universal Champion! But what are your opinions? Feel free to tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria and any recent blog posts will be linked below.
