Five Dream Main Roster Opponents For: Tommaso Ciampa

I recently kick-started a brand-new series here on my blog where I look at some of the hottest current NXT Superstars list five dream main roster matches for them! We started things out by focusing on the current North America Champion, Ricochet and this week we are going to be moving our attention to the current NXT Champion, Tommaso Ciampa. If you know me, you will know that I am a huge Ciampa fan and he most certainly sits as one of my current faves in pro wrestling as a whole so I’m super excited for this post! Right, lets jump right into it!

VS Daniel Bryan

The fact that Daniel Bryan called the action for the Cruiserweight classic that saw Ciampa apart of just a couple of years ago only adds to why this is such a dream match. Already there is a little story to be told there which involves Ciampa rubbing in the fact Bryan was sitting on the sidelines calling what he did while Ciampa stole the show. These are two former indie darlings, they have genuine experience and most certainly are in the eyes of many two of the best wrestlers in the world today. Ciampa shines incredibly bright in this particular heel role and this new character would so easily work an amazing feud and match against Daniel Bryan which could Smackdown LIVE firmly at the top and shake up what many believe to be the main event picture and how it should be run.

Vs Kevin Owens

Picking which one of these two would take on the role as the babyface would not be easy but who says there must be? Let’s imagine in a dream booking world we see Ciampa called up and thrown into a number one contenders’ tournament for a major championship for one of his opponents down the line to be Kevin Owens. We’ve seen heel vs heel matches done extremely well in the past and I honestly do believe that if any two superstars can make it work to a phenomenal level its Ciampa and Owens. The two are incredibly likely to complement each other in the ring and have all the potential in the world to provide a five-star worthy match that goes down as one of the best of all time!

vs Roman Reigns

Okay, hear me out on this one. While I don’t believe Roman Reigns is the man that will truly give Ciampa a five-star rated matchup on the main roster I cannot deny the fact I have a lot of interest in a future collision between the two. With Roman Reigns as the champion, I cannot think of any heel/character who could challenge him and challenge authority figures in a convincing, entertaining, and barbaric way like Ciampa could. Fearless, reckless, focused, and dangerous, Ciampa would make for a totally different style of challenger Reigns is used to not to mention how hot the crowd would be for this. Tommaso is such an interesting name to put forward as a potential Universal Champion but the more you think about this rivalry and the possible positive outcomes for Ciampa the idea becomes more attractive.

Vs AJ Styles

What do you get when you take two of the best professional wrestlers in the world put them against one another inside a WWE ring? A phenomenal outcome. AJ Styles and Tommaso Ciampa have been right at the top for the past year and half minimum. Dominating the main roster and developmental the two have been apart of some of the best WWE matches in recent years with their character work being equally as strong and a full-on rivalry and singles match makes for a damn strong dream! There is no denying these two men could work one heck of a contest with their experience, confident characters, and desire to “run the place” both so strong. Both Styles and Ciampa have an in-ring ability and style that would compliment the other and keep fans of all ages totally engaged and entertained.

Vs Seth Rollins

And the final name I’m going to be talking about today is of course, Seth Rollins. Arguably the most consistent worker on the main roster Rollins has proven to also be one of the most over/popular, promising, and gifted stars of today, similar words used to describe Tommaso Ciampa. When I sit back and think of Iron Man matches I would love to see it’s Rollins vs Ciampa that tops the list. The two have incredible stamina and their wrestling ability is like no other. Rollins is one of not many who could truly keep up with Ciampa and match him perfectly in the ring!
