Top 5 Royal Rumble Contenders

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well! Happy Royal Rumble day! Tonight the road to Wrestlemania officially kick starts as the most unpredictable pay per view of the year takes place and tonight more is at stake as one superstar will make history. This year the Royal Rumble pay per view offers so much more than any other as the winner will walk out the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The odds are stacked against the current champion Roman Reigns and tonight is bound to be one to remember. In today's blog post I'm will be counting down my top fie contenders for the Rumble this year. As usual you can let me know what you think and who you believe is the strongest contender tonight by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria. I will also link bellow any recent blog post so you can stay all up to date on everything.

Triple H
If you had asked me at the start of the year who I thought was going to win the two thousand and sixteen Royal Rumble pay per view in a heartbeat I would have said Triple H, without any hesitation. After the months of built tension between Triple H and Roman Reigns and then the champ taking Hunter out in December, it felt as though the WWE were building Triple H VS Roman Reigns up for the Wrestlemania main event and I still do think that it's a possibility. We haven't seen Triple H on TV since the TLC pay per view (not including he's appearance at NXT Takeover London) and so a great deal of the WWE universe are predicting that he will make he's return at the Royal Rumble pay per view, witch is still very likely. We know that Triple H is going to want to get he's redemption, getting revenge on Roman Reigns, proving a point and becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. If he is an entrant tonight then I'm expecting him to be the last. So many people will be expecting him to make a return tonight and enter the Rumble. If he is, then saving him to last would be the best decision to make without a fail. Leaving us all hanging and on the edge of our seats waiting for him to come out right to the very end or at least at number twenty nine will keep me interested anyway. Now, even though I do think that Triple should be and will be World champion at some point this year I have to admit that personally I'm not backing Triple H for the win. I'm actually hopeing that instead we are all left waiting and believing that he will be the final entrant of the night only for number thirty to be a Wyatt family member or something like that. Later on in the match lets say when it's down to the last seven or five Triple H comes out and costs Reigns the match setting up a one on one between the two at Wrestlemania. That's what I would personally love to see but I also think the chances of HHH being the last entrant, having a dominate performance, and being left down in the final two with Roman Reigns is also a huge possibility. Vince McMahon is also likely to play a big role tonight if Triple H is an entrant. Together, the Authority screwing Reigns out of the Rumble is an obvious choice and one of the most likely outcomes. Either way I'm expecting the feud between Triple H and Roman Reigns really come to light tonight as the road to Wrestlemania really kick starts.

Bray Wyatt
My personal favourite heading into tonight's Royal Rumble pay per view is without a doubt Bray Wyatt. I have mentioned it a couple of times before on my blog and on twitter over the past month or so but he really is the man I will be backing one hundred and ten percent and after what we all witnessed this past Monday on RAW there is a huge part of me that believes he really can walk out of the Royal Rumble pay per view tonight the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He has spent the best of almost three years working he's butt off on the main roster building himself up to be one of the biggest and most must see names in the WWE. Taking on top superstars such as Kane, John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and even the Undertaker, Bray Wyatt has proven that he will play a massive part in the future of the WWE and will create a huge legacy for himself as the years go by. We all know what Bray is capable of. From phenomenal promos and segment that rate as some of the greatest we have ever seen in WWE history, to outstanding matches that have allowed him to showcase just what he can do in the ring. After the years he has taken out to build he's character, take part in great storyline's and feuds, and create a strong, solid, loyal following, now defiantly feels like the right time to give Bray Wyatt he's first championship in the WWE. He more than deserves it and has proven throughout the past thew years that he would make a great champion. Since two thousand and thirteen we have seen the same type of champion crowned time and time again whether it be Randy Orton, John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins or Sheamus, the diversity hasn't been wide enough at all and with so many different types of superstars on the roster is feels like such a shame to continue putting the same superstars at the top and in the championship picture. It's time for something new and Bray Wyatt really is that something new. He will be able to offer something that no past champion in the past two years has offered and the storyline's the WWE could pull off with Wyatt is endless. The deranged, dangerous, cult leader the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. An army of superstars willing to sacrifice themselves for him, the cult growing in numbers by the week, and eventually introducing sister Abigail herself. Wyatt as Champion would also allow the Authority to break away from the main event/ championship picture. I'm not saying take them off TV for good but taking them away from the main event picture would be so refreshing. They have been the focus of the World Championship from the best of twenty thirteen and while I would love them to still play a role on RAW and Smackdown, most probably in a new storyline with Roman Reigns heading into Wrestlemania, taking them away from the championship picture will allow new superstars to step up to the plate and take the spotlight and allow the fans to see something new. As we all saw this past week on RAW, Bray Wyatt alongside the rest of the Wyatt family were able to work together to take out Brock Lesnar putting Bray as a top contender for the Rumble this weekend and teasing something new starting up for Wrestlemania season. We know after last year that Bray is a very dominant figure in the Rumble and with three mountains by he's side this time round Wyatt is almost untouchable and unstoppable.

Roman Reigns
Of course there is a massive chance that Roman Reigns comes up on top once again tonight, defying the odds, keeping hold of he's WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In fact there is a huge part of me that believes that is exactly what is going to happen. Throughout the past year we have seen Roman on this road of proving himself, bettering himself, defying the odds, and reaching gold in the WWE and the story continues tonight at the Royal Rumble pay per view. It took Reigns eleven months to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and I just cannot shake off the feeling that the WWE would not have spent so long building him up and putting the championship on him just to have him loose it a month or so later. The build up has focused so heavily on Reigns loosing the title and being unable to defy the odds, knocking off twenty nine other superstars and the more they have pushed the idea of it being impossible for Roman to keep hold of he's championship at the Royal Rumble the more I have come to think that is exactly what he is going to do and completely defy the odds. Reigns has been on a role for the past couple of months now and with so much momentum on he's side and the fact that the WWE want him to be such a major top superstar and a huge part of the future of the company, two royal rumble wins back to back and making history tonight is exactly something to expect. Reigns has come such a long way over the past year and I would not be surprised in the slightest if Reign's retains tonight and comes up on top. In fact it's probably the most likely outcome. It will take a lot for me and I'm sure many other fans to be satisfied and happy with this ending but I honestly don't believe that will hold the WWE back and I think we should all prepare ourselves for a very likely Roman Reigns win tonight.

Brock Lesnar
I will admit that I personally don't believe that Brock Lesnar will end the night as the winner of the two thousand and sixteen Royal Rumble and the new WWE world Heavyweight Champion. I just think there are plenty more worthy winners and the build up has favoured the likes of Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt much much more. If we look at what we have seen from the past couple of moths or so Lesnar winning tonight just wouldn't make any sense. Even if it came down to Lesnar and all  of the Wyatts, it wouldn't work for him to just eliminate them all and pick up the win. It wouldn't. However, saying that there are plenty of people backing him tonight and who do believe he is a serious contender. We all know what Brock is capable of. He is one of if not the most dominate superstars in WWE history and when you put him in a match like tonight's Rumble then it's safe to predict that he will be a massive stand out. He is likely to have a strong amount of elimination and is bound to make a huge impact. There will be a lot of superstars gunning for the beast all at the same time and Lesnar does have a lot of history with plenty of the superstars heading into tonight's Royal
Rumble, so regardless of how the night ends for Lesnar, he is bound to have a strong showing tonight and play a big big role in the match up and I'm still not going to completely rule him out as the winner of tonight's Rumble, after all, he is Brock Lesnar.

A surprise Entrant
Of course none of the superstars I have mentioned today could end up leaving the Royal Rumble as the winner and the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. In fact none of the superstars currently active on the roster could be. We all know that the Royal Rumble is the most unpredictable night of the year and anyone, literally anyone could walk out. I think there are a great deal of people expecting Daniel Bryan to make a return tonight and I do think it's likely but personally I highly doubt he will actually win if he does make a return tonight. We can expect anyone to walk out tonight and automatically become a top contender for the win. With so many rumours surfacing about signings and the arrival of Austin Aries in NXT we can expect the unexpected. Could an NXT talent make their arrival tonight at the Royal Rumble and pull off a massive upset? Only time will tell.

Let me know who you think is a top contender for tonight's Royal Rumble, and who you are personally backing and hopeing will be an entrant tonight by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.
