Superstars who deserve to be champion before 2017

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good. I'm back today with a blog post I have wanted to write and get uploaded since the start of the year and I'm so glad I have finally found the time to do so. With so many superstars not getting the spotlight and attention they deserve I thought that I would name five superstars and divas who I think deserve to be champion by two thousand and seventeen. This includes both WWE main Roster talents and NXT superstars. This a blog post looking at those who we all know are worthy of being champion but haven't yet got the reign they deserve. Some of the superstars I will be speaking about today I haven't actually spoken about very much in the past here on my blog so this should be fun to write. As usual I will link bellow any recent blog post and you of course can let me know what superstars and divas you think deserve to be champion by two thousand and seventeen. You can also leave blog post suggestions bellow in the comments section or on twitter at @TezangiVictoria. Right, with all that over let's jump right into the blog post...

1) Sasha Banks
One of the hottest talents of twenty fifteen was without a doubt Sasha Banks. Earning the right to be named one of the best female wrestlers in the world today, Sasha has been one of the driving forces in the divas revolution in the WWE. Starting out NXT, Sasha found herself becoming one of he most must see talents in developmental helping create the four horsewomen and reinventing women's wrestling. In February of last year Banks competed in a fatal four way for the NXT Women's Championship alongside then champion Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley and after a fantastic performance she walked out of Takeover as the third NXT Women's Champion in history. Arguably going on to have the best title reign in the history of the championship Sasha defended her title regularly and was able to deliver a match up worthy of being named one of the best women's matches we have ever seen at every single takeover event. The turning point in her career of course being her outstanding match up against Bayley at NXT Takeover Brooklyn, which was actually voted as my match of the year last year. The match itself was history making and proved once and for all why Sasha deserves to be named one of the best female wrestlers there is today and one of the best divas in WWE history. After dropping the title to Bayley at Brooklyn Sasha then became a full time member of the main roster divas division making the transition from NXT developmental to the big stages. Now, I will always be a Sasha Banks fan, always, no matter what but I would be lying if I said I have been happy with how the WWE have used her since she made her move up to the main roster. We all know that divas revolution move was an epic fail and while teaming up with Naomi and Tamina was a good idea to start thins off the reality of it is is that the team idea lasted far too long and being apart of Team B.A.D has only held her back. She hasn't been able to show off her Boss character as much as she should have when she first moved up and the booking hasn't helped. Yes I will admit that her win/loss record is looking very very strong right now and she has had a couple of great matches up on the main stage against the likes of Paige and Becky Lynch but anyone that is a fan of Sasha or has been watching her for a long period of time will know that she is capable of showing so much more and we haven't even scratched the surface with her on the main roster yet. We already know that she is massively over with the fans wherever she goes and with her character, mic ability, and wrestling skills she is set to have a huge future. What the WWE need to start focusing on now is looking at slowly breaking up Team B.A.D but they are going to need to do things a little differently. I recently wrote a blog post talking about a divas royal rumble and even though the chances of that ever happening are very very slim I'd love to at least see a divas battle royal for the chance to face Charlotte for the divas championship at Wrestlemania. Turning on Naomi later in the match to actually in the battle royal would be such a great road to go down, allowing the pair to take part in a mini feud before Mania. Now, even if this doesn't happen (witch it probably wont) I'm still expecting Sasha to a some point become the Divas champion in twenty sixteen. I'd love for to become he first women to win the championship at Wrestlemania but I won't get my hopes up any time soon. We all know that the WWE would have no problem trusting Sasha with the championship. She has proven while being down in NXT that she is an amazing champion who is able to generate a lot of attention, put on phenomenal matches and actually main event a pay per view. With the WWE and the fans being so high on Sasha I don't doubt for a single second that she will be champion at some point this year.

2) Bray Wyatt
The past year has been very up and down for Bray Wyatt. While he has managed to compete in a small handful of strong matches he's booking has been much weaker than he deserves and he has struggled to come up on top at the end of a storyline/feud. Throughout twenty fifteen Wyatt took on the likes of Dean Ambrose, The Undertaker, Roman Reigns and tag team legends in the Dudley Boyz but failed to be the last man standing come the end of most of the feuds he competed in destroying so much of he's momentum. The storytelling for every feud he was in last year was all pretty much based around the same thing. It kind of felt like we were getting the same feud just with different superstars. I did however really enjoy he's work with Roman Reigns despite feeling as though there was still so much more they could have done with that and the writing could have been a lot lot stronger if the WWE had paid more attention to it. While Wyatt failed to come up on top of he's storyline's he did however manage to continue delivering phenomenal, captivating promos that were genuine highlights of both Monday night RAW and Smackdown. Since joining the WWE main roster Bray Wyatt has been one of the most talked about superstars. He's fun to watch, he's captivating, haunting, and there hasn't been anyone like him who brings what he brings to the table in such a long time. In the short thew years he has been competing on the big stage he has managed to take on some of the biggest names in WWE history from Kane to John Cena to the Undertaker while also delivering stand out feuds and matches against the likes of Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns. The WWE have already done so much with him but it's now time to start looking at putting a championship around the waste of Mr Bray Wyatt. With the Wyatt family clan growing the potential in cult based storyline's for the next year grow also and what better way to push Bray as a dominate force to be feared and admired than by giving him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. For the past thew years we have been given very obvious world champions from John Cena and Randy Orton to Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns it's about time we had something a little different. A champion with Wyatt's character is exactly the breath of fresh air needed and would change up the dynamic massively. It would open doors for multiple superstars to step forward and challenge him and spark up a change. We've seen Bray walk around taking out superstars left right and centre but now he really does need to be taken to the next level. We all know that he is world champion material, he has everything it takes to be a top, main event talent, he is a top main event talent now he needs to be booked like one. It's time the WWE got a little more serious with Bray and with so many amazing storyline opportunities with him as world champion it's something that would be a massive shame if the WWE missed out on.

3) Baron Corbin
I'm certain that the next name to feature in this list won't come to any surprise but it had to be in there. It of course is Baron Corbin. The entire world knows I'm a massive Baron Corbin fan. I'm always sitting here writing about him whether if it's talking about he's talent in the ring here on my blog or declaring my undying love for him on twitter but after the massive turn around year he had in twenty fifteen we had to talk about him in today's post. Over the past couple of years Corbin really has come a long long way from working squash tag team matches to competing against the biggest names on the NXT roster at WWE live events across the world. Who would have thought that he would end up being the first NXT superstars to knock off Apollo Crews? Whether you like him or not the WWE are high one him and can clearly see massive potential. He started last year off working basic matches to get over and send a message and ended the year as one of the bigger names on the roster. Yes, he does still have a long way to go. He still needs to work on he's mic skills, it's without a doubt he's weakest area and he needs slightly more character development but he has come so far in the past year and with the amount of momentum he has one he's side things are looking really really good for Baron Corbin at the moment. Give it a thew months and I do think he would be ready to be champion, he would of course have a lot to live up to. Past champions have consisted of Adrian Neville, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, all coming from the independent scene before arriving in the WWE and all making a massive impact having fantastic championship reigns. With the standard being set so high Corbin will be under a lot of pressure if he was to capture the championship but I really do think he would be a breath of fresh air. He has something different to offer and I really do believe it would be refreshing seeing a superstar who hasn't got an indie back ground take on the role as the top guy on the roster.

4) Natalya
Natalya is without a doubt the most underutilised women in the WWE. She's one of the longest serving divas on the roster and one of the most respected in the division but her beyond poor booking is ridiculous. I could literally count on one hand how many matches we saw her compete in on TV last year. Any wrestling fan would be able to tell you that she is a phenomenal in ring competitor capable of putting on amazing matches but for years she has been left on the shelf competing in matches here and there being used for a reality TV show and appearances and it's just not good enough. There are so many matches of Nattie's from the past that highlight just how much of a great competitor she is. From one on one matches against the likes of AJ Lee, Kaitlyn and Paige to competing in one of the best women's matches in WWE history against Charlotte back at NXT Takeover almost two years ago, Nattie has proven time and time again that she is one of the greatest female competitors in the WWE and it's such a shame that they continue to put her on the sidelines. She could have played a major part in the divas revolution and once again it's a real shame that she was sidelined once again. However, the WWE still have time to put Nattie back in the spotlight. She has some great chemistry with the likes of Charlotte, Paige, and the Bella's, all divas that the WWE seem to be extremely high on. You can trust that when you put Nattie in the ring with any of these divas she will not only make herself look amazing but will bring out the  best in her opponent too. I've been saying it for almost two years now but I would seriously love to see Natalya and Charlotte feud once again. The little bit of work that we saw between the pair back in NXT was fantastic and easily has the potential to be one of the best diva feuds in WWE history and to be honest a main event worthy rivalry. The storytelling between those two would be so easy yet so effective. We know what both these women can bring to the table and together they really can make magic in the ring. With so many young, fresh talents coming up to the main roster it's only a matter of time before Nattie is pushed completely aside. Before that happens, before more NXT divas get the call up the one true veteran left in the division deserves at least one more championship.

5) King Barrett
I'm not going to lie, I'm seriously passionate about the last superstar we are going to be talking about in today's post. I have been a huge Wade Barrett fan right from the get go. He's improved and come so far since he debuted and while he has a great history with the Intercontinental Championship he deserves so much more than what we have seen from him in the past couple of years or so. Don't get me wrong, he has managed to fit in a couple of solid matches and taking the crown for King of the Ring last year was a big deal for him but the WWE have missed so many opportunities with him and I still feel like they don't have a clue just what they with Barrett. There is so much more they could have done with him in the past year especially after winning the King of the ring tournament, it should have been the turn around that he needed but they continued to book him in repetitive matches and weak feuds that had no purpose. It's so unbelievably annoying seeing someone who has it all, mic
ability, wrestling skills, charisma the whole lot being used to poorly. I do believe that if the WWE use the League of nations properly Barrett could really turn things around for himself. I love the idea of this faction and with the right booking and the right direction it could be something really special. Barrett has so much to offer and given the time and the correct storyline's/feuds he could easily be portrayed as one of the top talents on the roster. Yes, there is a lot of of competition and it'x extremely unlikely he will be World Champion in he's career but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be and it doesn't stop him from capturing the IC or United States Championship at some point and having a really strong, solid championship reign that highlights he's skills and shows the WWE universe what he really has been made of for all these years. I'd love to see Barrett get the opportunity to get a big push whether or not it actually happens is something we will all have to sit and wait for.

So that's my little list of five superstars (and divas) that I think deserve to be champion before twenty seventeen. There's a nice little mixture of talents in this post and I'm glad that I got to speak a little more about some of them considering I've hardly spoken about a couple on my blog before.
