Five Superstars WWE Screwed Over in 2016

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! Today I'm back with another top five and this time I'm counting down five superstars I believe the WWE has screwed over in two thousand and sixteen. This is a post I really wasn't sure about whether to write or not. At first I only had a few names in mind and I didn't believe there was enough to write a full post on and so I did leave it for a while. And then I went over my notes again and had a look a other possible names I could add to this list and actually did have more than enough for a full-length blog post and so that is exactly what I have for you today. I am aware that may be a few names you don't agree should be on this list but I do explain myself very well so make sure to keep tuned to the end! Now, before we get started I do have to mention that we are coming towards the end of the year which means its time to start looking back over at the past twelve months and begin to talk about some of the best moments of two thousand and sixteen. Over the past couple of years you have seen me take December out as the time to really take a look back and begin to talk about some of the best matches, moments, most improved, NXT Match of the year, and of course NXT, Male, and female supestar of the year and I do plan on doing the exact same thing this year. I will begin to pre-post these over the next couple of weeks and the first post in the season will be uploaded in the first week of December and will run throughout the entire month. As always I would love to have your input both on these up and coming end of year posts and today's' top five so feel free to leave a comment bellow or drop me a tweet at @TezangiVictoria. Finally, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow at the end of today's blog post.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

There has been no disappointment bigger than the poor use of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in twenty sixteen. The NJPW tag team arrived on the scene earlier in the year after rumours surfacing of their arrival in the WWE. Their debut would become one of the most anticipated moments of two thousand and sixteen and the night that saw them arrive on the scene was a standout moment of the year. As someone who has been a fan of Bullet Club for so long seeing Finn Balor, AJ Styles, and Anderson and Gallows all competing in the WWE at the same time was something I never thought I would ever get to see actually happen and so I was sure a very happy bunny. In the early days of their arrival to the WWE Anderson and Gallows sure made an impact. Their debut night showed them take complete control and leave everyone talking about them. In the weeks that followed after they managed to build momentum and remain a strong talking point. Week after week we witnessed them take out superstars and make an alliance with AJ Styles, something that would be their dominant story in the early days of their arrival. We sat back and watched as the Phenomenal one refused help from this former partners. Every week Gallows and Anderson would seek to prove their loyalty to Styles and show him what the benefits could be of him having them by his side. After spending so long as a team before they arrived in the WWE the whole thing just worked and with Styles desperate to make it on his own it made every moment even more perfect when Styles finally gave in and the Club were finally put together in the WWE. During this short time we got to see more solid performances from Anderson and Gallows but over time one thing became clear, their lack of momentum and things only grew worse for them when the brand split occurred. With Styles over on Smackdown LIVE Anderson and Gallows were left as a duo only and the downhill spiral just grew much much worse. With a poor win/loss record both on and off pay per view, the team began to lose credibility and momentum very quickly. Their feud with the New Day was done completely wrong and was one of the key factors in that downhill spiral. The backstage promos and segments did them no good what so ever. During this time the WWE completely ruined their character and everything they should have been just wasn't happening and they were not coming across the way they should have been at all. It was during this time that I began to lose an interest in their work. I wasn't being entertained at all and hated what we were seeing from them. Even now they fail to stand where they should be standing on the roster. While I love the New Day, they should have dropped the tag team champions along long time ago and they should have dropped them to Anderson and Gallows. I'm confident they will be champions at some point but there is no denying their moment has been missed already. We have seen them continue to take two steps forward and three steps back and if that continues to happen then we could be seeing a real disappointment. These guys have everything you could ask for in a tag team yet the WWE have managed to screw them over completely this year. Hopefully, things pick up for them upon Finn Balor's return where their storylines could easily be endless and seriously entertaining.

Summer Rae

I know, I know, I know, I have spoken a lot about Summer Rae over the years here on my blog and over on twitter. You guys know all too well that I am a huge fan of her and her work and I have been pretty much from day one. I do feel as though I have had to explain why I'm such a fan of Summer Rae. I know I've said it before but she definitely is someone who hasn't received enough credit and appreciation for what she has done and contributed to the women's revolution over the past couple of years. While she hasn't been a part of those huge history making matches if it wasn't for Summer we wouldn't have stars like Charlotte, Paige and Sasha Banks. She was one of the women who really did elevate the division and bring so many strong and gripping storylines for the NX Women's division in its early days. This year we have seen many more fans speak up and back Summer with so much more people pointing out that she deserves to be in the spotlight much more and deserves to be recognised for what she has done for her division and her talent. Now, I did believe that Summer would finally get her moment to shine or at least be booked much stronger after the brand split. Drafted to Monday night RAW where the competition is very strong and tough there are so many things the WWE could be doing with her and there are so many storylines's they could have fitted in for Summer over the past few months. They could have easily have used her to help elevate and put over other women on the roster such as Nia Jax or even Charlotte and Sasha Banks using some of their history from NXT as a part of their story up on the main roster. Looking back, Summer would have been a brilliant part of the story we saw between Sasha and Charlotte recently. While Summer isn't the greatest wrestler in the world she does have some serious talent and potential and she does in my opinion rank as one of the strongest female heels in the company today. Since the brand split we really have seen RAW focus only on about three or four women in the division and Summer unfortunately hasn't been one. Hopefully next year, just like everyone else we are going to be speaking about in this blog post today, Summer finally gets a little push.

Bray Wyatt

It does feel as though we sit here every single year and talk about how Bray Wyatt hasn't been treated right over the past twelve months and how the WWE have failed to give him the attention and work he both deserves and needs. Now, in all fairness, we have once again seen some brilliant performances from Wyatt both on the mic and in the ring. Every year we get to witness fantastic matches and promos from Bray and twenty sixteen has been no different what so ever. He has continued to show his potential and prove that he deserves much more than he is being given. However, once again the WWE have failed to get it right with him and put him in the position he deserves to be in. It shocks me that to this day we are yet to see Wyatt hold a championship in the WWE. You look at him and anyone can see that he is a brilliant talent, possessing everything you could possibly want in a WWE Superstar. He has phenomenal mic talent, his ring skills are fantastic and his character is one of the most captivating and interesting in the WWE today There have been so many times when the WWE could easily have put Bray in a story that led to him holding a championship, whether it be the Intercontinental championship or even the WWE World Championship. I do sill sit here and claim that I believe he will be champion by this time next year. If the WWE fail to put him in the spotlight and at that top spot next year I'm going to have to start believing that it may just never happen. As I'm currently writing this we are watching as Bray takes part in a story with Randy Orton, something that I personally have lost interest the more we have seen of it. The problem we have had this year with Bray is the same problem we always have with Bray and that his lack of victories throughout the past twelve months. This year we haven't seen enough of Bray at all, his storyline's continue to be very similar to what we have already seen from him and he just hasn't picked up enough wins and when he has done it's been thanks to the help of Luke Harper or Erick Rowan. Hopefully next year Wyatt finally gets his big storyline that really does break him out and set him in the right path.

Sasha Banks

You're probably reading this and thinking to yourself what on earth is this girl doing adding Sasha Banks, a two-time RAW women's Champion to a list highlighting those superstars the WWE Screwed over this year but let me explain! Now, first of all, there is no denying the fact that Banks has had a brilliant year. She not only took part in one of the stand out matches at Wrestlemania but continued to make history and become a two-time RAW Women's Champion in a matter of months not to mention the outstanding matches we have seen from her throughout the past twelve months. However, when you take a long hard look it becomes pretty clear the WWE could have done a lot more with the Boss and actually managed to screw over the former champion on several different occasions. Let's first focus our attentions on Wrestlemania. Easily, the most important women's match to feature on a Wrestlemania show Banks stood alongside Becky Lynch and Charlotte in front of a record-setting crowd to compete for the WWE Women's Championship. You would have seen me throughout the year talk about how much of a standout match this was in my opinion and I have noted this to be one of my favourite matches of twenty sixteen. Throughout the build up the WWE gave fans every reason to believe the Boss would be walking out of the biggest stage as champion. It simply made perfect sense. We had all been left waiting months longer than expected to see Sasha crowned as the champ and after hearing her be so vocal about her opinions on the division throughout the years mixed with the fact she was so massively over with the fans and strongly in her prime everyone believed she would be leaving with that new championship. And lets also not forget about those video diaries that only gave us more reason to believe she would be taking that title home. However, despite the amazing entrance, fantastic performance and crowd reaction the Boss was failed to capture the women's Championship with Charlotte once again being crowned champ. Months later Sasha was finally given a one on one feud against Charlotte for the title in what was easily one of my favourite feuds of the year. The two managed to put on several fantastic bouts that will for sure be spoken about in more detail in the weeks to come. During this feud we witnessed Sasha capture the title from Charlotte not once but twice. The first time victory came about after what was easily one of my favourite matches of the year. With everything you could ask for in a championship match, Sasha's victory was one of the most emotional and anticipated victories of the year. however, only weeks later we had to watch as the Boss dropped the title to Charlotte at the SummerSlam pay per view in what was one of the biggest shocks of the year. Now, I hated the end result to this match and I remember being so mad! However, at least here we can understand that Sasha needed to heel some injuries and get back to being one hundred percent; what I cannot accept is her second championship loss. After recapturing the title on another episode of Monday night RAW the Boss and the Queen made history when they competed in the main event of Hell in a Cell in the first ever Women's Hell in a Cell match. While there have been a lot of critiques regarding this match I strongly liked what we saw however the end result is probably one of the moments that pissed me off the most this year. That ending just felt completely wrong. Sasha was in her hometown, in a history making match, everything learnt towards Sasha walking out as champion. It was one of the most frustrating moments of the year and highlighted just how much the WWE have screwed Sasha over. There have been so many missed opportunities with the Boss this year despite the phenomenal moments we have seen from her also and the thought of Sasha Banks VS Bayley at Wrestlemania for that Women's Championship just doesn't feel right.

Titus O'Neil

And finally we have yet another superstar I have spoken about a lot over the years here on my blog, Titus O'Neil. Titus is someone I really have changed my opinions of a lot since he arrived in the
WWE however it has always been clear hat he has a lot of potential and with the right booking and storyline's he could really be a brilliant superstar. However, over the years he WWE just haven't been able to set him off in the right direction. Sure he had a decent run with Darren Young a couple of years back when they held the Tag team Championships but apart from that there really isn't much he's done over the years. Throughout twenty sixteen we have seen Titus come very close to getting that push he deserves. There have been several moments where we have seen the WWE try and go in a different direction with him and try out some new things but nothing has really worked with such little dedication and time being put in with him. I do sill believe there is much they could do with him and they really could make him into a top star but they are running out of time. We have seen the WWE go back and forth with turning Titus heel and baby face and honestly at this point I don't even know what he's working as. I do think he can play both a good guy and a bad guy really well and with so many superstars up on the RAW roster at the moment there are plenty of opportunities for him both as a heel and as a baby face.  Over the next thew months I'd really like to see a clear direction for Titus and for the WWE to really commit to one idea and direction for him. I do believe he would also really benefit from Darren Young being moved over to Smackdown LIVE. I mentioned in a recent post that I feel as though these two should be on different shows and the link to that post will be bellow!

So that is my little list of five superstars I believe were screwed over or maybe not used as well as they deserve and should have been this year! As always I would love to know what you think and who you would have put in this list so feel free to leave a comment bellow or drop me a tweet at @TezangiVictoria.
