Five Potential 2017 Money in the Bank Winners

Hello everyone and welcome back o Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! So it's Monday and the start of a brand new week not to mention we are still early into the month of May! My goal this week and going forward throughout the rest of the month is to upload as many blog posts as possible including weekly highlights posts for Monday Night RAW, Smackdown LIVE and up and coming pay per views. I will also be uploading a prediction post for the next NXT Live special, NXT Takeover Chicago which will be uploaded this time next week or Friday depending on if I decide to upload a this eek in wrestling post. I will also be live tweeting throughout as many shows as possible so make sure you are following me over on Twitter. In today's blog post we are going to be taking a look at the Money in the Bank pay per view. Now, I know the show itself is still quite some time away but this is one of my favourite pay per views and I really do want to write about it so I thought why not. I actually don't know if this show will be RAW or Smackdown LIVE brand only but it should  be something that is presented by both brands for the obvious reasons. Again,  I haven't heard all that much about this years Money in the bank pay per view but regardless this post today is counting down five potential winners and five men I believe should and could win this years Money in the bank ladder match. As always, any recent blog post will be linked bellow. Finally, you can let me know who you believe should win the two thousand and seventeen WWE money in the bank ladder match (s) by leaving a comment bellow or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria.

Baron Corbin
Predicable Victoria, has to go and feature Baron Corbin in another blog post. But as per usual I will back my actions up completely and on this occasion I think we can all agree that the lone wolf really does deserve to take home the prize of Mr Money in the Bank twenty seventeen. Since the brand split Corbin has been nothing short of dominate. The WWE have actually done a really good job in booking him correctly eighty percent of the time. We have seen him grow to become one of the biggest superstars on Smackdown live, performing in matches and feuds against some of the strongest names on the roster including AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, and even sixteen time world champion, John Cena. While challenge those superstars above him in terms of experience and general all round in ring capabilities he has successfully stood toe to toe and delivered an impressive performance week in and week out. To be Able to take on such big names and give each one of them a fair fight is a reason in itself to add him to this list. Its crazy to think Baron has only been apart of the main roster for a little over a year. He really has come a long way from the surprise Andre the giant battle royal winner to one of the main attraction on the new A show in the WWE. Now, if you have been reading my of posts over the past couple of months you will be aware that I was hoping to see Corbin defeats Dean Ambrose at Wrestlemania to become the brand new Intercontinental champion and hold his first title in the WWE. Now, I did also mention that for storyline purposes there may have been difficulties giving him the Mania win however, a title run was always how I wanted their feud to end. Keeping in mind that the superstar shakeup was happening it would have made even note sense for Corbin to take the win at Mania, Ambrose to have his rematch a few days later and the following week the lunatic fringe makes his move to Monday night raw. However, that didn't happen and we are now sat here wondering what is the next best move for Baron Corbin. So far he had continued to be booked strongly and smartly  by WWE writers and it remains clear he has a great deal of potential. There is no doubt that the WWE are high on Baron and its only a matter of time before he is pushed right to the top of the roster. The best way to insure he does get that big push he deserves? The two thousand and seventeen money in the bank.  There will be plenty of Smackdown Live superstars featuring in this specific post and others remaining on the topic of this pay per view but Corbin is a must and a huge talking point in regards to this years MITB already. I have said it before that I believe Corbin will be WWE champion within the next year but it's gonna take a great deal of hard work. He still has a lot of growth to be made with his character development and drawing in the fans a little more. Little areas such as mic work are still proving to be a problem. If he was to win the money in the bank ladder match this year it gives him the opportunity to showcase more of his character and atomically makes him an even bigger talking point. His booking should improve even more and his storylines should hopefully also become stronger. I honestly do believe that Baron should be In the talks in regards to this years MITB winner. His potential is there, he has a great debut year and he is forever growing and improving. Giving him this win will only insure greater things to come and elevate him to a higher level.

The Miz
I know I know I know, this next entry would be a heck of a lot more convincing if he was still on the Smackdown LIVE roster but I still love the Miz and I still want to believe that he could be a big time champion by the end of the year. Now, I'm writing this on the twenty fourth of April and by the looks of things right now Miz is chasing after the Intercontinental championship, a title that at this point really does feel as though belongs to him and him only considering he is the only superstar that is able to make it feel important. However, I would love nothing more than to see The Miz at the top as champion. I don't doubt that IC title will be back around his waist soon but we all know that he deserves even better. The brand split last Summer benefited the Miz more than anyone else. He became a huge star and was finally seen as the massive talent that he is. We all know he's a solid in ring performer but his work and character is something you just cannot teach. In a matter of months he changed a lot of fans opinion of him and got heads turning all around the world for all the right reasons. Becoming a standout and key part of Smackdown LIVE he was one of the main reasons why I was tuning into the product week in and week out. He really did make the brand that much stronger with every stoyline, match, promo, segment, and interview stealing the show. I mentioned time and time again that I believed he would be WWE champion by the end of the year with things on sure to get better for him. However, WWE being WWE managed to fuck things right up by moving him over to Monday night RAW during the superstar shakeup a couple of weeks back. Now, lets not take anything away from Miz. Regardless of where he is he is capable of stealing the show. We all know that. He has the character and the skill to outshine anyone. However, when you stick him on such a stacked roster full of creative favorites such as Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, the Miz is pretty much doomed and I have serious worries he will fade back into the background. So how do the WWE keep the Miz as a strong positive talking point? How do they reassure hardcore fans that the Miz will be as successful on RAW as he was on Smackdown LIVE? It's simple, the Money in the bank ladder match. Now, there are bound to be such huge names in the RAW Money in the bank ladder match who are possibly more likely to get the win, however, we have seen surprises at the money in the bank more than once when it comes to the winners, just take Damien Sandow and more recently Sheamus for example. This would be the one year I would love a surprise underdog win and the Miz is the perfect fit. What makes Smackdown LIVE so strong is it gives the guys that have been seen as an after thought a chance to be a top star, if RAW want to have the same effect giving the Miz the win would be the best first move. He's win would shake up the roster and the main event picture as a whole and would of course allow him to have that main event spot he finally has proven he deserves. It's difficult to think of a RAW superstar more worthy than the Miz.

Luke Harper
We have another Smackdown LIVE Superstars up in next in the shape of Luke Harper. Most of you reading this will more than be aware that I have been a huge Luke Harper fan for many years. Dating back to his time before the WWE I was watching him perform as Brodie Lee on the independent  scene and it was made clear from then that this was a man destined for great things. We have all always been able to see the phenomenal potential in Harper. A fantastic all round performer, he has it all. Fantastic in ring abilities that over the years have stunned fans, an interesting character with plenty of room for development, and a following that is forever growing. In the time that he has been apart of the WWE Harper has grown massively both as a performer and in popularity. With every performance he impresses more and stands out even stronger in a tough and competitive roster. I do still believe to this day that his best work has been his tag team work with Erick Rowan., I mentioned rather recently that I believe they should have reunited the original Wyatt family members and given Rowan and Harper a strong tag team title reign. While I do love Harper's singles work and believe he has all the potential to be something  big I do feel as though the tag team division on Smackdown LIVE needs this duo. However, that is for a completely different post and right now we do need to focus on Harper's singles run and if this is something the WWE really do want to stick with they are going to have to give him the big push he deserves. We've seen Luke have singles runs before and while he is a former Intercontinental champion we need more from him this time round. I don't want to see the WWE hold back this time, its an all or nothing situation and Luke Harper deserves it all. He has everything you could possibly ask for in a WWE Champion. It may be more difficult to book consistent strong storylines for him in comparison to someone like Randy Orton but he most certainly is worth the risk. He is one of not many superstars you can honestly trust will always deliver a strong and entertaining match. With such an unorthodox yet old school style Harper is a captivating superstar and one that more than deserves a  big push to the top. When I was taking notes for this blog post, Luke Harper was the first name that came to mind. He has been killing it over the past few months and with him at such a high point in his career its best to keep him there and a money in the bank win would be exactly the perfect next move. We have seen him come close to getting into the title frame but always just missed out. I don't feel as though the WWE have as much time with him as they do other superstars such as Baron Corbin and with the time feeling so right the WWE would be stupid to miss out on the perfect opportunity to crown Luke Harper Mr Money in the bank. Not to mention his win would really shake things up.

Finn Balor
I'll be honest, I struggled with listing RAW superstars in this post. At the moment I'm still more interested in Smackdown LIVE and while there is a lot to look forward to on RAW I'm not half as captivated. Making this post rather difficult. The Miz was an easy choice but choosing another RAW star was not as simple. However, several names did come to mind including Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe but in the end I decided to go with the demon King himself, Finn Balor.  A rather obvious pick  but one I needed to talk about today. He does without a shadow of a doubt feel like the most likely win for the RAW money in the bank ladder match. He's had a long year and is due something big. Since he arrived in the WWE Finn Balor has been pushed to the stars. He had a fantastic run in NXT that saw him become the longest reigning NXT Champion and one of the most iconic NXT Superstars in its history. He was called up to the main roster in the summer of last year during the brand extension as an early RAW draft pick and was again pushed to the top and would go on to compete in the main event of Summer Slam against Seth Rollins in a battle to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Coming out successful in that match he made the unfortunate news twenty four hours later that he wouldn't be able to hold onto the title as he had suffered an in jury during that match and would have to take several months out of action. As we all waited for his return we hardcore fans wanted to know what would be waiting for him upon that return. There was plenty of speculation and he remained such a big talking point. We did finally see Balor return to RAW on the night after Wrestlemania and he has bounced back strong. While he hasn't been shoved back in the title picture he is still someone fans cannot stop talking about and it looks as though he has some great work ahead with a feud against Bray Wyatt on the cards. I do like that he hasn't gone straight into the title picture. I believe there are many superstars who deserve that spot right now and it's just not his time at the moment. However, his time will come and while I strongly believe that regardless he will be champion again soon within the next twelve months, I honestly would love to see him as Mr Money in the bank. I'm so desperate for a Club reunion and a heel Finn Balor and if we can get all that while he is Mr money in the bank I will be the happiest girl alive. I will be writing about this in more detail in a how I would book post so make sure to keep an eye out for that very soon!

Sami Zayn
Up next we have another popular choice in the one and only Sami Zayn. Its almost impossible to write a list like this and not include Sami Zayn. He is forever a huge talking point amongst hardcore fans and he continues to be so especially around money in the bank season. He was a personal pick for the win  last year and if you remember I did talk a lot about him being a potential winner then also. However, he didn't get the win and I actually cannot even remember if he was booked in the Money in the bank ladder match... you're going to have to remind me there. Over the weekend me and one of my close friends were having the discussion about potential money in the bank winners this year and Zayn was someone we  both strongly believe needed the win more than anyone else. While it would be amazing to see guys like Luke Harper and Baron Corbin get the win they deserve Sami Zayn is a superstar who really needs this win. There have been so many opportunities the WWE have had where they could have so easily given Sami a push or even a little something that will help him in the long run. Take the Andre the giant memorial Battle royal for example; while Braun Strowman was my personal pick Zayn was such a  popular and we all know it would have made so much sense for him to get the win. I mentioned that I really wanted to see him and Braun as the final two. With their history and where they both were in the careers at that point it was just the most
sensible booking decisions. Instead, the WWE decided to have  both eliminated far too early and in the end Mojo Rawley won. Trust me when I say I'm still unbelievably angry about this. Even if they have decided to have Strowman win it still would have set up a perfect story for Zayn. He's the underdog of all underdogs and his story is always so captivating. If he had had another moment where he came so close but just didn't get it it would have continued that story we have all fallen in love with and given Sami something to go off. For the past year and a half we have seen him compete in fantastic matches, we have seen him work against some of the best names but now its time to give him his spotlight and edge him one step closer to the top. We all wanted Sami to go over to Smackdown LIVE because we know there are great opportunities for him there and he's more likely to become that big name he was born to be but so far he has had the same track record. It's time for a change and time for Zayn to have something to work with. He would be a brilliant pick for Mr money in the bank this year and out of everyone I have spoken about in this post, Sami is the one I believe needs this the most.
