Dream Main Roster Opponents For: Candice LeRae

A couple of weeks back I kick-started a brand-new series here on my blog that involves taking a look at a current NXT superstar and discussing some of the dream main roster matches/opponents for that superstar. So far, we have focused on both Ricochet and current NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa but today I felt it was time to dive into the women’s division and take a look at one of my personal favourite female superstars in Candice LeRae. One of the only women to make a huge impact on the indie scene and then move over to the WWE, Candice is a champion in the making but just which names do we want to see her collide with up on either RAW or Smackdown LIVE.

Vs Sasha Banks

One of my dream women’s matches possibly of all time is most certainly Sasha Banks vs Candice LeRae. Two very similar in-ring performers both women have spent their careers proving a major point that women can do exactly what the men can do going even further to actually compete against male opponents before arriving in the WWE. While the Boss has the character advantage Candice has a major hardcore following and just that tad bit more experience, what the two do share however is their simply phenomenal wrestling ability. Both women have been apart of huge matches that have changed the way many see females in this industry and there is no denying that given the time Banks and Candice could deliver a historic match that goes down as one of the best WWE matches of all time!

Vs Asuka

If I’m being totally honest, it’s been a while since I have genuinely been interested anything Asuka has done. The last match we saw her compete in that I was totally invested in came from her Wrestlemania bout against Charlotte Flair, however, since then there hasn’t truly been much to enjoy. Throughout her WWE career, Asuka has proven to be an excellent all-around performer and easily one of the best female superstars the company has ever seen with standout matches against the likes of Ember Moon, Charlotte, and Nikki Cross but if there is one more name we all want to add to that list its Candice LeRae. The styles of the pair are bound to compliment each other and again, given time this could be a true standout contest in the division's history. There isn’t a woman who can push Asuka to her limits as far as LeRae and a matchup between them is a true dream!

Vs Bayley

Again, similar to Asuka, It's been a while since I last genuinely enjoyed any content from former champion Bayley and in fact that “while” has been in a lot longer. Her main roster run has been extremely disappointing and unfortunately, there are no signs of things changing. Despite tthat however, no one can deny the sheer in-ring skill Bayley posses. Her matches against Sasha Banks over in NXT along with bouts against Charlotte Flair have highlighted Bayley as genuinely one of the best female wrestlers/wrestlers the company has today and with that being said a dream match most certainly is one involving her and Candice LeRae. I honestly do believe that out of all of these matches we have spoken about today this could well and truly end up being the best while also saving the career of Bayley, reminding fans just how good she is!

Vs Charlotte Flair

We’ve mentioned her throughout today’s blog post but of course, we had to feature her properly. Candice LeRae is one damn strong professional wrestler but with Charlotte Flair being…well, Charlotte Flair and owning some serious athletic skill this makes for a must-see contest. Out of all the matches we have spoken about today it's this that I believe would be the closest to call and the most unpredictable. The two women bring something so different to the table including their past, their look, their advantages and overall skill set. The fact these two women had completely different paths in making it to the WWE means there is an entertaining story fans could easily invest in also and what better way to truly push Candice as the ultimate underdog (Daniel Bryan style) than have her challenge the Queen.

Vs Ronda Rousey

And finally, I have a feeling not many will agree with me on this one, but Ronda Rousey was genuinely one of the first names I thought of when compiling this list. Let’s make one thing clear, Candice LeRae has fought some of the biggest and toughest men in the wrestling world; utterly fearless, quick, and skilled she makes for an interesting and very different kind of opponent for Rousey. The idea of Ronda sporting the heel role here and Candice (as we just mentioned) adopting the role as the underdog babyface in the style of Daniel Bryan or even husband Johnny Gargano could make for something that could easily main event a major pay per view!

And there we go! That is my list! I honestly had so much fun writing this one in particular and I cannot wait to hear what you guys thought! Feel free to leave a comment below telling me who you would like me to talk about next in a similar post or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria 😊
