Women Who Should Have Been Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame By Now
Last week it was revealed that The Bella Twins will be
inducted into the twenty-twenty Hall of Fame, a decision that has divided fans massively!
Now, of course, there can be no denying the incredible things both Nikki and
Brie has done for the women’s division and all they have achieved in their
careers but is now truly the right time for them to be inducted? Well with so
many other women before them making such an incredible impact there has been
great discussion amongst the wrestling community as to whether those names
should have gone in before The Bella Twins. Today we are going to be taking a
look at four former female superstars who most certainly deserve a spot in the
WWE Hall of Fame and discussing whether or not they should have gone in this
year.
Mickie James
Mickie James has done so much over the years for women’s
wrestling making an impact both in the WWE and over in TNA. A multi-time
champion she is one of few women to hold both the WWE Divas and WWE Women’s
championship and has been apart of memorable storylines and rivalries against
the likes of Trish Stratus, Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix amongst many. In
recent years during her return James has worked alongside Alexa Bliss and Asuka
proving she most certainly still has it and while the WWE didn’t take full
advantage of her return its clear there was so much they could have involved her
in and this was simply a case of a major missed opportunity. Today, Mickie has adopted
a role on commentary where she does an incredible job! Mickie was making an
impact in the women’s division during years where female talent truly struggled
to be apart of genuine entertaining content with wrestling fans wanted to see! Her
debut storyline with Trish Stratus resulted in a Wrestlemania highlight for
women’s wrestling and James has been apart of storylines at a time where things
really were not easy for women in the industry! Not to mention the great
matches and title reigns she has been apart of during her career.
Michelle McCool
We just touched on her name but there can be no denying that
former WWE Women’s and Divas champion Michelle McCool is a future hall of
Famer. The first-ever Divas Champion and a two-time women’s champion McCool was
a dominant titleholder who knew how to have an audience gripped. Standing out
the best in her role as a heel she alongside Layla worked as an iconic duo in
the women’s division and played genuinely convincing mean girls. The pair had fans
talking about tag titles for the female talent before the WWE would have even considered
such an idea and the storylines and rivalries, they were apart of are talked
about to this day. McCool in the ring was way ahead of her time! To think of the
kind of bouts she could have been apart of if she had the time to complete the
talent have today is pretty incredible and frustrating at the same time! Michelle
took part in the first women’s Royal Rumble where she again had a standout performance.
Growing up, Michelle was one of the key figures in the women’s division and was
personally someone I really enjoyed watching and one of the main reasons why I
loved tuning into divas division action.
Chyna
It’s pretty frustrating to see that Chyna has still not been
inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. This was a woman who was changing the game
before anyone even dared to. From her role within DX to competing against male
talent to making history time and time again, Chyna is a true pioneer for women’s
wrestling and remains such an incredible inspiration. One of the most popular
and recognized names in the history of the WWE Women’s division she did things
no other female talent did and has done since her time. Chyna stood out for her
unique image, her power, her talent, and her likeability; She was a captivating
talent who inspired so many and for years has deserved a role in the Hall Of
Fame. I believe she will most certainly be inducted soon but there can be no
denying she should have had her place many many years before now.
Victoria
One of the most underappreciated former talents, in my opinion, has got to be Victoria. Another former champion this was a talent who
really was ahead of her time. A powerful superstar she stood out for her devastating
finisher and impressive move set. Sexy, intense, charismatic, athletic, Victoria
was a true standout in the women’s division and went on to do great things
outside of the WWE. Over the years Victoria stepped into the ring with some of
the best of the best including Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Jazz
and many more! To this day I would love to see this former champion make a
return to the WWE with the women’s Royal Rumble being the perfect opportunity! Hopefully, in twenty twenty-one I’ll get my wish! This is a woman who really does deserve
more recognition and appreciation and most certainly deserves a Hall of Fame
Induction.
There are of course so many more women who have earned their
place in the WWE Hall of Fame! From Torrie Wilson to AJ Lee, from Molly Holly
to Candice Michelle, the list is endless but the names we touched on today have
made such an incredible impact in the women’s division that it surprises many
they have not been inducted yet and there are many who believe at least one of
those former superstars should have been inducted this year.
