What I want to See From Asuka's Current RAW Women's Championship Reign

During last weeks episode of Monday night RAW fans saw Becky Lynch reveal she is pregnant and has relinquished the title. In a twist it was also revealed that the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was in fact for the RAW Women’s championship and after walking out the winner she is now sitting as the new Women’s champ! A worthy and popular champion the Empress of tomorrow is sure to bring a lot to Monday nights especially as the new titleholder but just what can we expect from her latest reign?

 Her Best Reign so far

Throughout her WWE career Asuka has done everything a woman can achieve in the company from Royal Rumble winner to holding every single title the division has to offer but her latest RAW Women’s championship victory could very well look to be her best reign so far! This is the most character depth we have had from Asuka since her main roster debut and she has gone from being a dominant champion to fear to one of the most charismatic and entertaining all-round superstars. We also have a strong women’s division consisting of previous rivals in the form of Nia Jax and Ruby Riott to up and comers such as Liv Morgan and dream rivalries with the likes of Shayna Baszler. Asuka has massively turned things around for herself over the last year (particularly in recent months) and I have to admit that this is the most I have enjoyed her work since her NXT days and this is the best character delivery we have seen from Asuka since she arrived in the WWE.

 

The End of the Kabuki Warriors

I and so many other fans absolutely love the Kabuki Warriors. Asuka and Kairi Sane have been key figures within the women’s tag team division and arguably two of the best title holders we have seen to date however, Asuka’s latest reign could take them away from the tag division draw a wedge between them big enough to see a split between the two. Now, a dream matches up is of course a one on one between these two and it looks as though we could be edging much closer to that happening. Whether it be an angry Kairi looking to take her moment and dethrone the empress or Asuka believing she is better than  being apart of a tag team regardless there are some great options here creatively and their rivalry really could be something special and sure to bring one of the best matches we have seen from Sane since her arrival and could very well be a standout feud for Asuka’s latest reign. The pair are sure to work a match of the year candidate style bout and I cannot wait to see what they bring to the table when on opposite ends of the ring in a lengthy bout.

 

Vs Shayna Baszler

The rivalry we all want to see is, of course, Asuka vs Shayna Baszler. As two of NXT’s most dominant champions of all time (putting gender aside completely), the one on one matchup between them is a total must-see and very much anticipated by the WWE Universe. We have seen a match between them teased since Baszler joined the main roster and while we have seen snippets of what is to come from a collision between them including inside Elimination Chamber earlier this year. The two women share such intensity and the alpha female character and when colliding one on one in a lengthy bout during an intense rivalry we are sure to see an unpredictable bout take place and Baszler could very well be the name we see dethrone Asuka down the line. If one thing can be sure during Asuka's latest title reign it's she and the Queen of Spades will come to blows!

Assisting Io Shiari

Something I would personally love to see is for Asuka to make a little appearance over in NXT to pay the current women’s champion a little visit. There is great history between Asuka, and Charlotte and the NXT commentary team have been sure to remind fans of the relationship between Asuka and Io and what they have achieved together during their career prior to joining the WWE. Now, this is a long shot and I do not believe Io needs any help defeating Charlotte in the slightest but for Asuka to make a brief appearance during a future bout between Flair and Shiari we could see the start of plenty of exciting work. It would be great to see the WWE focus in even more on  Io and Asuka’s friendship and history and seeing her play a role in Io dethroning Flair could leave a door open for a potential faction involving Asuka, Io and Sane but also my next point…

 

Vs Charlotte Flair

Okay, so we have seen Charlotte and Asuka come to blows a few times now and their fantastic showing at Wrestlemania a few years back continues to be a controversial talking point. Today we see both women still dominant and in positions of champion but following on from my previous point there is a lot to still come from these two women and Asuka making an appearance over in NXT could spark another rivalry between the pair even bigger and more exciting then we have ever seen between them. There is a strong story to be told between the two superstars and considering Asuka’s new mean streak and character we could such a strong story being told that leaves us very much entertained! It would also be great to see Asuka defeat Flair on a big stage!

I don’t know about you but I’m very excited for Asuka’s latest RAW Women’s championship reign and I do believe there is potential for some also moments, matches and rivalries!
