What Seth Rollins absence means for WWE Main roster

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good. Today I have a special blog post after the world received some shocking news regarding on of World Wrestling Entertainment's biggest names. Wednesday night a video of Seth Rollins' knee giving in on him after attempting a powerbomb surfaced the internet and yesterday the WWE broke the news that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins had suffered a sever knee injury. The self proclaimed future of the company had torn he's right ACL, MCL, and medical meniscus and stated on WWE.com, he would be out of action for up to six to eight months! Since then it has been revealed that at the Survivor Series pay per view in three weeks time a tournament will start to determine a new champion. But what does this mean for WWE as a whole? Who will be given that all important big push? And what could  the WWE have in store for the next six to nine months without Seth Rollins? In today's blog post I will be answering all those questions and more . Remember you can voice your opinions down in the comments section bellow or you can drop me a tweet at @TezangiVictoria. Any recent blog posts including this weeks RAW Review and Reactions post will be linked bellow so you can check those out and stay all up to date on everything.

For the past year and a half Seth Rollins has been working as the WWE's biggest heel. After turning on he's Shield brothers Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, the Architect of the faction found himself allying with the Authority who would open doors beyond doors of opportunity and he embraced every single one of them. From winning the Money in the bank contract last year to becoming the first superstar in history to cash in at Wrestlemania and leave the pay per view as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion; Seth Rollins has spent the past eighteen months creating he's own legacy, becoming one of the most must see talents of this generation. We have seen him defeat an icon in sting, take on the beast, Brock Lesnar, hold both the US and WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the same time, and put a demon to sleep at Hell in a Cell. So with a superstar having such an impact on both the roster and the WWE universe what could the next six to nine months hold for the company without him? While yes, he's injury is extremely unfortunate, he's absence will allow a number of superstars to step up and have the moment they have been waiting for. From Dolph Ziggler to Cesaro, from Kevin Owens to Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. The next year is going to see a lot of changes in the WWE and shift in power within the roster.

The night that it was announced that Seth Rollins would be out of action for six to nine months, the WWE stated on their website that at the Survivor Series there will be a tournament to determine a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. While the details surrounding the Survivor Series tournament have yet to be finalised predictions amongst the WWE universe have started and the buzz/excitement that comes with a crowning of a new champion has officially begun. Questions such as; will we see any NXT superstars in the tournament? Will Roman Reigns will be turning heel and becoming champion? Who will be in the final round? and plenty more have been asked and discussed amongst all forms of social media and today in this very blog post I'm going to be giving you a little insight into what I would love to see booked for this tournament.
With such little details announced by the WWE it's difficult to make final predictions for the Survivor Series tournament. Even though it hasn't been made official yet I'm pretty certain that the tournament will be eight man tournament. With the roster being the way it is right now, I doubt a sixteen man would actually work but even if they did there are still a number of outcomes they could create from it some I wont completely rule out a sixteen man tournament. Now, If I was booking an eight man tournament, personally I would really want to mix things up a little. I know that the most obvious choice for the finals is Roman Reigns VS Dean Ambrose and I'm actually, just like most people, completely up for that and think it would perfectly but I would want to see some kind of twist at the end. I know a lot of people have commented on a possible heel turn for Roman Reigns but in all honesty I don't think he actually needs to turn heel and join the authority at all. I would much rather see Ambrose and Reigns completely go at it in an amazing match. We spend the whole tournament watching both superstars go through hell to become champion making the twist moment even more controversial and exciting. I would of course love to see Ambrose go one and become champion, defeating Reigns but I think with the journey we have seen Reigns go on over the past year, the struggles he has had to fight through to get to the top and win over the WWE universe it would be just amazing if he could go on and become champion and just in that moment as he's being given the championship and he an Ambrose are shaking hands Sheamus' music hits and he cashes in taking that moment from Reigns once again but I think in order for that to work they would have to keep Sheamus out of the tournament. Another option witch is quite similar will see Sheamus and Ambrose battle in the tournament with Ambrose getting the win and qualifying to the finals against Reigns where he picks up the big victory only for Sheamus to cash in on him during the celebration. Storyline wise it would all fit in really well and whether you love the move or hare it you'll be talking about it witch is of course what the WWE love anyway.
The tournament is going to really allow a lot of superstars to shine. Personally I'm expecting something like Ziggler VS Big E, and with their history in the ring I wouldn't have a problem with it but the ending will conclude with Tyler Breeze costing Ziggler the match, pushing their feud even more. Or we could have Del Rio and Ziggler with the same ending. Talking of Del Rio I can't be the only one that wants to see Jack Swagger some how get involved in one of Del Rios matches or cause some kind of distraction to start something between those two. Cesaro is another superstar who is bound to be a stand out in this tournament and it's going to be very very interesting seeing how he's booked throughout the next several months with Rollins out of action. Finally. I would absolutely love it if NXT stars are used throughout this tournament. Superstars like James Storm, and Rhyno for example. Unfortunately I'm not supporting the idea of Finn Balor or Samoa Joe or even Apollo Crews being apart of it just because I feel as though they are doing exactly what they should be doing right now in NXT and there's no need for them to get the call up yet. Instead the WWE should be focusing on their main roster and working with what they have got their, building up superstars who need to be built up.

With Rollins out of action, it means that there isn't really a big top heel around and to be honest we haven't even got a big baby face on the roster so that really is something that the WWE should be focusing on right now. Of course the most obvious choice for top heel right now is Kevin Ownes. He is without a doubt the biggest and best/strongest heel they have right now and having him work as their top guy is pretty much the only option they have right now. However, because he is the IC champion I'm not expecting him to get that far in the tournament but I do think that they could still somehow get him to start working as the Authority's new "guy". Seeing some a little rougher and more ruthless standing next to the Authority would be perfect and with he's character and mic ability he will really be bringing something a little different. If they wanted to turn Ambrose heel he would be bringing almost the exact same thing Owens would but like I have already said I don't feel as though there is a reason to turn Reigns what so ever. They need a strong baby face and right now, that strong baby face is without fail Roman Reigns. I think it's important that from this point onwards the WWE start pushing Sheamus and booking him stronger even if they don't have any intentions of
having him cash in any time soon. While I love he's pairing with Barrett and I think they have loads of potential especially with marketing, it's not doing any good for him right now. He's been booked very poorly and as  a man who is set to be World Champion at some point we need to something much much better than what we have been seeing recently. Maybe have him turn on Barrett. Barrett could be in the tournament and to stop he's "friend" from getting there before him he costs him the match or attacks him. It might only be something small but it would be the start of the WWE really giving Sheamus that push he needs as he makes he's way to cashing in over the next couple of months or even weeks if that's the plan.

It is of course a huge shame that Rollins is injured and will be out for so long but no one can deny the fact that these next several months with him not around are going to be really really strong for a number of superstars on the roster who have been waiting for their moment in the spotlight. Their are so many options that the WWE have right now. They are almost spoilt for choice when it comes to storyline's and because of the unpredictability and all the talk right now, ratings are bound to see an increase. Let's just hope that the WWE actually end up making the right decisions. No matter what decisions are made, how they write Rollins back in should always be at the back of their minds.
