Seven Women's AEW Should Sign
With AEW growing in popularity day by day and the hype
forever increasing the roster continues to be a huge talking point amongst
wrestling fans. Double or Nothing showcased its women’s division incredibly well
but it's evident it's an area over in AEW that needs greater focus and
development. In the months set to follow I am hoping to see more names join the
AEW women’s division and in today’s blog post I’m going to be listing a few
names I believe the brand should most certainly look to sign.
Jordynne Grace
Whether it be Tessa Blanchard or Taya Valkyrie, Jordynne
Grace has made one heck of an impact during her time in IMPACT wrestling. The
powerhouse has grown in popularity and has become a Darkhorse on the wrestling
scene and it's clear she can bring a lot to the AEW women’s division. With
collisions against the likes of Awesome Kong, Britt Baker and Japanese female
talent there are many fantastic collisions sure to bring out the best in Grace
and not to mention AEW is an amazing brand for her to develop and increase her popularity
even more.
Bea Priestley
One of the most talked-about women on the independent wrestling
scene today is none other than former Defiant wrestling women’s champions Bea Priestley.
The New Zeeland star has made a name for herself competing against some of the
best in the world today working perfectly as both a heel and a face whether she
goes. Yet another young star growing in popularity by the day Bea has travelled
the world and owns a very skilled and exciting move set. This is a woman with
an amazing story to tell and while I’m surprised the WWE haven’t snapped her up
AEW may just be the perfect place for her.
Meiko Satomura
One of the biggest and most experienced women on the independent
wrestling scene is, of course, Meiko Satomura. This is a woman I have enjoyed
watching for a very long time and her performance in last years Mae Young
Classic was a reminder to everyone of just how great she really is. Still
wrestling around the world, it’s a dream of mine to see Meiko compete on a major stage like AEW
and while contractual issues may become a problem for her and other women on
this list today her experience and background is much needed in the AEW women’s
division and this could be the chance she deserves and always has deserved to
show just how amazing she really is.
Teneille Dashwood
Since departing with the WWE former NXT star, Emma has been
making waves across the wrestling scene. She has made an impact over in ROH as
well as stepping in the ring to face Angelina Love and Bea Priestley amongst
many. Her level of star power and popularity is something the AEW women’s
division is in great need of. The company have great work to do where the
female talent is concerned and signing such a major star in the form of Emma
could shake things up and bring a spotlight to the division it is yet to have.
Collisions with women already signed add to why Teneille would make for a brilliant
name to add to the roster with dream bouts awaiting her also.
Tessa Blanchard
There really is no woman I would love to see apart of the
AEW Women’s division than Tessa Blanchard however, contractual rules probably
mean it may be quite a while before we see the hottest talent in women’s wrestling
today join the hottest brand on the wrestling scene. There is next to no other
female talent capable of bringing the star power to the AEW Women’s division
the way Blanchard could. Her arrival in the company would guarantee huge must-see matches sure to get fans talking about women’s wrestling at a whole new
level.
Priscilla Kelly
While extremely controversial, Priscilla Kelly is an
exciting and very much talked about star when women’s wrestling in concerned. Coming
into the spotlight over the past year, the young up and comer has been making
an impact for her… unique character and solid in-ring work. Reminding many of
former NXT Women’s champion Paige, Priscilla is a woman not afraid to take a
risk and again, her character, experience and skill is something the AEW Women’s
division is crying out for. Kelly has so much charisma and character that her presence
most certainly will be felt and the storyline’s awaiting her are endless.
Shotzi Blackheart
And finally, we have a woman I haven’t actually spoken about
her on my blog before but considering she is a growing talent I have been watching
a lot recently I just had to include her! Shotzi Blackheart is a young up and
comer with a completely unique look and style. She’s a name many are still learning
about, but her skill and image is enough to turn heads regardless. AEW is a
forever growing major brand and this level of exposer would be huge for
Blackheart.
And those are just some of the names I personally would love
to see join the AEW Women’s division. Now, it's unlikely some of these names will
find their way to AEW just yet mainly due to contracts elsewhere but considering the impact they could make there
is no denying just how much I would love to see each of these names apart of
the roster.
