Throughout the year so far, the wrestling world has provided
fans with plenty to talk about. From the debut of AEW to shocking career
changes and historic storylines but just what has had wrestling fans talking
the most? In today’s blog post we are going to be recapping some of the biggest
and best talking points so far this year looking at standout storylines,
moments and ground-breaking news headlines that have rocked the wrestling
world.
And that is my little list! Of course, there were so many other awesome moments I could have mentioned in this post but these were most certainly some of my personal favourites! I will be uploading a full IMPACT wrestling version of this post but until then I would love to know what you think so let me know down in the comments or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria what you would have included in this post.

TOP 10 WWE MATCHES OF THE YEAR SO FAR: PART 2
SEVEN WOMEN'S AEW SHOULD SIGN
Becky Lynch’s Road to Wrestlemania
Twenty nineteen has so far been yet another huge year for
women’s wrestling with the WWE placing its female talent in the main event of
Wrestlemania for the very first time. The night saw fan favourite Becky Lynch finally
win the big one becoming both RAW and Smackdown LIVE Women’s champion defeating
Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair on the biggest stage of them all. The build to
this match up saw Lynch the key focus and as a result, the man became the
biggest and most talked about star in the WWE. The angle was smart and full of
brilliant moments for Lynch seeing her compared to all-time greats such as
Stone Cold Steve Austin. This was a huge milestone for the women’s division and
Lynch’s storyline on the road to Wrestlemania cemented her as one of the
biggest female stars in the company’s history and showcased just how far women’s
wrestling really has come.
The New Bray Wyatt
One of the most surprising moments so far this year was the
debut of the new Bray Wyatt. While, as I write this, we are still yet to see
Wyatt return to the ring we continue to bear witness to his gripping promos and
backstage skits. Sporting a completely new look in the position of a children’s
TV present there was a darker feel to this rather brighter new side to Wyatt from
the get-go. As the weeks and months have gone by fans have begun to see just
how dark and twisted Bray truly is and many doors have been opened for Wyatt
moving forward. I personally remain very excited for what is to come here and
it's clear that a while now this new direction for Bray has been a major talking
point.
A New Era
AEW has truly ushered in a new era in the world of pro
wrestling. Already becoming the biggest rival the WWE has had in many years,
the growing promotion has raised the bar and fans have high expectations for
the future. Already, AEW has presented two hugely successful shows with the debut
PPV taking the wrestling community by storm! On the night of Double or Nothing, clear shots were made and it was evident, war had begun and things were truly
about to get heated and personal. One of the true standout and talked about
moments of the name came from Cody Rhodes destroying a throne sure to represent
Triple H and the feeling of a new era was most certainly felt and while
controversial the effect was made and this moment sits as one of the biggest
and most shocking moments of the year so far.
Intergender Wrestling Main Events a PPV
In the coming weeks, I will be uploading a full IMPACT
Wrestling version of this blog so keep an eye out for that, however, for now, we
simply must touch on the recent intergender main event between Sami Callihan
and Tessa Blanchard. As one of the most anticipated matches of the year, IMPACT
set out to prove a point and they did it extremely well. Main eventing
Slammiversary, Blanchard and Callihan took part in arguably one of the biggest
and best matches of the year so far. The IMPACT zone proved they were bringing
something completely different to the table and touched on a controversial
topic in the wrestling world and managed to make it work extremely well!
Roman Reigns Returns
Fans were left shocked and heartbroken when Roman Reigns shared
his journey living with leukaemia and stood completely behind him as he took time
away from the ring to focus on his health. In February of this year, Reigns left
everyone once again with tears in their eyes when he announced he was in
remission and it wasn’t all too long before he was back in the ring. His return
announcement remains one of the most heartfelt and passionate moments wrestling
fans have ever witnessed and his journey throughout the last year has been
inspiring beyond words.
Jon Moxley
And finally, arguably the biggest talking point of the year we
have, the return, the rebirth, of Jon Moxley. With former WWE Champion Dean
Ambrose, revealing he would not be resigning with the company once his latest
contract was up fans wondered what would be next for one of the WWE biggest
stars in recent memory. However, it didn’t take Ambrose long to have the
wrestling world buzzing more than ever before as he became one of the biggest
and most talked-about talents on the entire wrestling scene. Returning into his
role of Jon Moxley the Ohio born talent made a shocking and anticipated return
to the indie wrestling scene debuting for AEW in one of the most shocking and
talked-about moments of the year back at the Double or Nothing PPV. Moxley has
also gone on to win gold over in New Japan and there are an array of dream
matches awaiting him with a very exciting future ahead of him and fans have
still not stopped talking about all things Jon Moxley and his shocking career
change and decisions.
