Best WWE Tag Teams of the Past Decade
While tag team wrestling isn’t always treated with the
respect and attention it deserves on the main roster in the WWE there is no
denying there truly are some incredible teams In the company today. Often, fans
can spend a great deal of time talking of all-time greats in the world of tag
team competition but just who have stood out over the past ten years as some of
the best teams in World Wrestling Entertainment?

American Alpha
Despite never truly getting their time to shine on the main
roster, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan are most certainly one of the best tag
teams of the past decade in the WWE. Their true wrestling skills have gone
massively underrated and while many may have forgotten just what these two got
up to only a few years back taking a look at their NXT work once again will
surely refresh your memory and leave you wishing the company did a heck of a lot
more with them! The alliance here was a very special one with Gable truly
bringing out the best in Jordan and together working as a tag team stealing the
spotlight over in NXT and clearly possessing so much potential. It's frustrating
to see just how much more the WWE could have done with these two but they really
were a team who had it all and just didn’t get the time they deserved.
DIY
What a story DIY have to tell. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa
have most certainly gone down as two of the best NXT stars of all time and I genuinely
cannot wait to see what aits both men over on the main roster. Thinking back to
their time as a tag team these two really did have it all. With fans firmly
behind them, experience on their side and forever competing in epic match-ups
these two raised the bar and turned heads! Their work with the Revival went
down as some of the best work I have ever seen from tag team wrestling and
raised the bar to brand new heights. These two make for a massively exciting,
gripping and likeable duo who fans genuinely cannot keep their eyes off whenever
they’re in the ring!
The Bar
While I wasn’t personally the biggest fan of Sheamus and
Cesaro working together at the beginning of their alliance these two stars grew
to create something very special in the tag team scene over in the WWE. The
story of how these two began working together added to their appeal and their
dominance in the division sure didn’t go unnoticed. Taking part in several
standout matches during their time together and working as multi-time tag team
champions they worked as a powerhouse team with experience, strength, and speed
on their side not to mention how quickly they managed to win over the WWE
Universe. Here is a perfect example of two brilliant singles stars making waves
in the tag team world.
Team Hell No
When it comes to odd pairings the team of Kane and Daniel Bryan
sure do make the list. As two strikingly different superstars from appearance to
in-ring styles, the pair could not be further apart, but their alliance several
years back made for something very special in the tag team division. Their
chemistry provided true entertainment fans could not get enough of, however, it
wasn’t all funny angles and entertaining segments and promos as these two knew
how to work together when it mattered and provide genuine strong bouts in the
ring. As former tag team champions, these two top stars dominated the tag team
division during this time and kept everyone completely captivated when it came
to their work and the tag team division.
The Undisputed Era
As the only ever three-time NXT Tag team champions you cannot
deny the fact the Undisputed Era is one of the best tag teams in recent
memory. The faction as a whole has brought something completely different to
the table over on the black and gold brand dominating the NXT roster and taking
part in every major storyline and match you could think over the past couple of
years. The Undisputed Era has not only been apart of Iconic NXT tag team bouts
but has taken part in some of the best tag team matches of all time! Managing
to work standout contests against an array of opponents they sit as arguably
the best and strongest tag team NXT has ever seen and the reign on the main
roster sometime down the line is sure to be something very special!
The Revival
In all honesty, I personally Believe the Revival is one of
the best tag teams I have ever watched. These two really do have it all from
personality, character, in-ring skill, intensity and talent. Throughout their
time in the WWE Dash and Dawson have been a part of ground-breaking matchups
that have completely changed the game! These two men shifted opinions regarding
tag team wrestling and brought it back to life! Their work as two-time NXT Tag
team champions highlighted just how good these two are main eventing Takeover
events and taking part in match of the year contests. While the pair haven’t
been used to their best abilities on the main roster no one can take away the
fact Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson are two of the best names in the tag team
wrestling scene.
New Day
When it comes to tag teams that have changed the game, The
New Day really do top the list. Entertaining is a huge understatement when describing
these guys for their mic work and in-ring work has shifted things massively within
the division. These guys have left fans genuinely in fits of laughter and
completely hooked on their every word. Their merchandise is above any, their catch
lines are damn well iconic and to top it off they have worked some of the best
tag team matches the WWE and the wrestling world has ever seen. All three members provide something so
different making them an all-round team and while they spend a great deal of
time dancing and laughing the new day mean serious business when they step into
the ring. They have made history as the longest-reigning tag team champions of
all time, they have worked standout bouts against an array of teams and continue
to stand as some of the most must-see names on the roster today.
The Usos
And finally, we have the Usos. Long-time readers of my blog
or followers over on Twitter will know that I haven’t always been the biggest
fan of The Usos, in fact, there was a time where I was a solid hater, however,
their change in character a few years back shifted things massively and Jimmy
and Jey reached brand new heights. Whether it be in the role of heels or
babyfaces these two know how to leave fans completely hooked and wanting more.
The pair have worked so many epic matchups it's impossible to name them all not
to mention their iconic work with the New Day. The Usos have been apart of so
many entertaining segments that have left me genuinely laughing, they have
worked alongside some of the best names on the roster and again have raised the
bar and added a new level of life and hope back into the tag team division.
There really are so many other names I could have mentioned
in this blog post from Harper and Rowan to Enzo and Cass and its because of that fact that despite the
often poor use of the tag team division there really has been some epic content
and the division has been incredibly strong in recent years. The WWE sure do
have the names and the division is stacked today it's just a matter of getting
the best out of these incredible teams.
