Top 5 Superstars of the week

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well. I'm back today with my top five superstars of the week. I'm surprised that this has even gone up this week mainly because of how unwell I have been. You would of seen that yesterday I didn't upload my Smackdown Review and Reactions and that was because I felt terrible yesterday, I tried but I didn't even end up actually watching it until last night. I have to admit that creating this week's top five has been really really difficult, just because I haven't been paying much attention to the shows and not many superstars have actually stood out, but I have managed to just about create a top five. The next couple of weeks your going to see a lot of my weekly/daily posts change because of Wrestlemania. The last week will of course be Wrestlemania prediction week (I have already started writing up my predictions), so a lot of posts will not be going up. Things will return to normal on the second week in April. I will as usual, link bellow the most recent post to go up including my latest Wrestlemania season post. You can let me know who your superstar of the week is by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

5) Alexa Bliss
Kicking off this week's top five is NXT diva Alexa Bliss. For the past two weeks we have seen the WWE slowly put Bliss in the picture for the NXT Women's championship and she has been building her way up to the top spot of the division. If you take away Banks, Charlotte, and Bayley, Alexa Bliss is the next best thing. We may not have seen that much of her on TV but just from what we have seen of her we know that she has a lot to bring to the WWE and after seeing her work from live shows, this girl has a huge future ahead of her. I also mentioned her in my fifteen superstars to watch in twenty fifteen. I'm beyond delighted to see that she is finally being put in the NXT Women's championship picture and I say really pay attention to her over the next couple of months because she's about to rock the NXT Divas division and give as all a little surprise. This week, after being out of action for a while due to a broken nose, returned to the ring to face Carmella. The match itself was surprisingly really good. I wasn't really expecting that much but the girls got a decent amount of time and they had some great spots. Alexa was a stand out throughout the match and really did all round have a good performance. After hitting an impressive finisher she was able to score the win. We have also seen over the past couple of weeks Bliss work a lot of NXT live shows as the NXT talent had a mini tour. Looking at all the videos and pictures, Bliss was the centre of attention in the divas divsion. alongside the familiar faces.

4) Bad News Barrett
Up next is the current (despite not actually holding it) Intercontinental champion, Bad News Barrett. The past couple of months haven't been the best for Barrett. He's picked up multiple losses against several superstars (all of witch he will he defend he's championship against in a ladder match at Wrestlemania) and he has had he's championship stolen from him time and time again. To be honest, I can't even remember the last time he came down to the ring with the title. But if we scrap all that back and take a look at the ring work he has actually done, taking away the fact he hasn't won a match in a while, he has actually been in some great matches and had some really good one on one performances. This week he on RAW he took on the latest man to be announced as a participant in the Intercontinental championship ladder match and former WWE World Heavyweight champion, Daniel Bryan. It was nice to see Barrett take control, he really is working on next to no momentum heading into Wrestlemania and even though he may not be booked to win he's matches at the moment, he's all round performance still counts for a lot. The match itself, was much much better than I expected it to be. It was a very split match with Barrett taking a lot of control. Then on Smackdown he main evented the show in a six man tag team match, teaming up with Luke Harper and Stardust to face Ziggler, Ambrose, and Bryan. He may of once again been on the losing side but he's all round performance was decent and it was nice to see him have he's good moments. I also wanna mention how well he has done in carrying this current storyline and entertaining the fans.

3) Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan is up next in this week's top five.It has been yet another good week for Bryan (when isn't it). At the start of the week on RAW we got to see him go one on one with the current Intercontinental champion, Bad News Barrett.  I liked this booking. I'm a huge fan of both these superstars, they are both extremely talented, and the match made sense with the current storyline. What I love about these two is how majorly different their in ring style is, they both captivate the audience in different ways and play their roles down to perfection, and with all that in mind, we were guaranteed a great match, given they were provided with the right amount of time.I wasn't expecting the match to take place but I didn't have a problem with it  actually happening. Bryan had a great showing, the match was very split but the storytelling was strong and it played a vital role in the build up to the Intercontinental championship ladder match a Wrestlemania. In the end, after what was actually a pretty good match, despite not being as long as I would of liked, Bryan got the win. On Smackdown he opened the show with a nice little promo where he spoke about Wrestlemania and announced he would be competing in the ladder match for the title at mania in a couple of weeks time. Of course the news went down really well with the fans but not so much Barrett and the rest of the superstars competing in the match. This would of course result in a six man tag team match to main event the show, witch saw Bryan, after yet another strong performance, score the win for he's team. After the match he was centre of attention again when the winning team were interviewed in the ring by Cole to close the show.

2) Roman Reigns
This week's number two spot and just missing out on being number one and superstar of the week is the man who will face Brock Lesnar at the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania, for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. This has been a really really good week for Reigns and the build up for he's mania match has been really strong and really is coming together. On RAW we saw Paul Heyman cut an outstanding promo on Reigns and Wrestlemania and of course Brock Lesnar. Witch put the attention straight back on the former Shield member and the actual Mania main event. I did comment in the week that if it wasn't for Heyman I wouldn't have any interest in the main event at all. Later on in the night Roman Reigns would once again be put centre stage when he competed in a two on one handicap match against Randy Orton and Seth Rollins. He did have a strong showing but the attention wasn't really on him and was mainly on Orton and Rollins. But he did manage to get the win and have an all round good night. He then on Smackdown cut a little promo addressing the WWE universe, Paul Heyman, and all the doubters.I have to admit, I kinda liked the promo. It wasn't delivered perfectly, no, but the meaning was so strong and it felt very honest. After being confronted by Mark Henry and told once again he can't beat Brock Lesnar, he attacked Henry and made it clear that he will defeat Lesnar at Mania and become the new WWE World Heavyweight champion. I really think this played a huge role in the build up to the biggest match of he's careerer so far.

1) Randy Orton
Finally, this week's superstar of the week is Randy Orton. To be fair, looking back at everything that has happened this week, there really is only one man who deserves the number one spot. No one else really did come into the picture this week for the number one spot. This week's RAW was quite literally centred around Orton. I will insert what I wrote about the opening to RAW here:"The night kick started with Randy Orton making he's way to the ring, witch was a nice little change. I say change, it was only a couple of weeks ago he opened the show. Anyway, the viper made he's way to the ring where the rest of the Authority (minus Triple H and Stephanie) awaited he's arrival. The commentators also announced that the main event would see Orton team up with Seth Rollins once again, this time in a handicap match against Roman Reigns. Can I just say I'm sick and tired of these repetitive main events and the WWE need to hurry up and get way more creative on their weekly booking for it's top talent. The opening segment saw the Kane, Big Show, J&J Security, and Seth Rollins welcome back Randy to the "team"...well that was until Jamie Nobel and Joey Mercury made it clear they wasn't planning on making amens with Orton. Rolling took control of most of the segment and it all focused around making it evident that perfectly clear that Orton wasn't playing any games and was one hundred percent back on Team Authority and the WWE universe were stupid for thinking that the true motive behind Randy's recent behaviour is just to sweeten up Rollins and the rest of the Authority until he finally turnt on them. Altogether Seth did a great job opening the show and carrying the segment. If we look back at the past year, he really has improved seriously on the mic and with he's character. During the end of the opening, Orton took turnt the tables and made himself the main attraction once again, pointing out to everyone in the ring how much they have all changed and turnt into Authority puppets. I have to say Randy really did make this whole segment.
He's never been the strongest of speakers in the world but he did a great job last night and really kept me entertained and I have to admit I chuckled a little at some of he's comments. In my opinion a decent start to the show." He then main evented the show in what was a decent match but he ever got involved. After the match was what really stole the show when he gave Seth Rollins the beating of he's life in one of the most barbaric beat downs in a long time. When I was actually watching this I did actually say out loud "is he ok" in reference to Rollins. But what I loved the most about this was how much it had that true, crazy, viper feel to it. Last night we were reminded why we truly love Orton. And I have to give it to Rollins, he sold the whole thing really really well. After putting Rollins through the announce table, Randy walked off with a crazy crowed reaction, closing the show. On Smackdown we also saw a really good interview witch went up on YouTube earlier on in the week.
