Wrestlemania Flashback 17-19

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well. Now, as you know it is now Wrestlemania season on my blog. Witch means from now right up to Wrestlemania thirty one my blog will be taken over by all things Wrestlemania, from top fives, to matches best for the thirty one card leading right up to the predictions on the final week. Today's post is the first in a complete series, Wrestlemania flashback. This will be a regular post going up every week leading up to the final prediction week. What I will be doing is going back to every single Wrestlemania and giving all the facts from that time. I will list every match that was on the card of that year and who won, the venue, how many people where in attendance and other little facts surrounding the Wrestlemania of  that year. There is special post for Mania one witch is why it is not featured in this post and we are starting at seventeen to nineteen. Wrestlemania 17

Date: April 1, 2001

Venue: Astrodome - Huston, TX

Almost 70,000 fans where at attendance in what many believe to be one of the greatest Wrestlemania's of all time. This was the second year Austin scored a win over the great one and after almost crippling the Rock with  steel chair to get the win, Austin celebrated with the company of a can of beer and long-time nemesis Mr. McMahon. To this day the sight of McMahon and Austin aligning at Wrestlemania remains one of the most surreal moments in WWE history.

Rob Van Dam defeated William Regal

Diamond Dallas Page defeated Christian 

Hardcore Championship:

Spike Dudley, Hurricane, Mighty Molly, Maven and Christian all scored pin falls to become champion throughout the night 

World Tag Team Championship:

Billy and Chuck defeated, the Hardys, the APA and the Dudleys 

Women's Championship:

Jazz defeated Lita and Trish

Undisputed Championship:

Triple H defeated Chris Jericho

For the second time ever the WWE crossed borders for Wrestlemania, holding the eighteenth anniversary in Toronto's Skydome. The night will forever be remembered as the icon VS icon match witch saw the epic contest between the Rock and Hulk Hogan take place. The night also saw Triple H who recently suffered a career threatening injury, take on Chris Jericho and score the win.

Stacy Keibler, Torrie Wilson, and the Miller Light Cat Fight girls fought to a no contest 

This was a huge year as it saw the final Wrestlemania match between the Rock and Stone Cold take place and this time the Rock was able to walk away with the win. It also saw the storyline of Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan take place where McMahon insisted that he was the sole creator of Hulkamania and vowed to destroy it at Wrestlemania but things didn't go quite to Vince's plan when Hogan scored the one, two, three.
