Monday Night RAW Highlights

This up and coming Sunday live on the WWE Network the first RAW exclusive pay per view, Clash Of Champions will take place in Indianapolis and with every single title on the line (including the brand new Cruiserweight Championship) this sure is a must see show. Last night saw the final stop before Clash of Champions with every superstar set to compete on the card looking to make one final impact on this weeks Monday night RAW ahead of this weekend. With the likes of Seth Rollins, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and Charlotte all turning heads we also learnt of more matches set to take place on Sunday and on top of that the Cruiserweight division finally made its return as a new number one contender was determined in an epic fatal four way. In today's blog post I'm going to be running you through some of the highlights from this week's episode of Monday Night RAW with a couple of little extra points at the very end. I personally thought we had a strong show this week so there is plenty to talk about today! As always any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including last week's RAW and Smackdown LIVE Highlights and yesterday's extra top five where I counted down five WWE feuds we need to see within the next year.  Also remember that I will be live tweeting throughout Clash of Champions on Sunday night! Finally, you can let me know what you thought of this weeks show by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

More Matches Added to Clash of Champions Pay Per View

I have to say that over the past couple of weeks the WWE really have done a good job in my eyes in creating a huge buzz around the Clash of Champions pay per view and creating a build up that made the show feel like a true must see. We have a number of matches sure to be standouts not only of the night but of the year including that huge main event between Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. During this week's episode of Monday night, RAW several more matches were added to the card as we learnt that Rusev will defend his United States Championship against Roman Reigns, a true underdog match. I've mentioned in the past that I believe these two really could deliver something special given the time and push. Alicia Fox will also look to get one over on Nia Jax and put an end to her dominance after she was sent through a barricade last week. Now, I don't believe this is going to be a standout wrestling match but I do believe Nia Jax is going to make one heck of an impact and showcase herself yet again to be the most dominate force in the women's division. Talking of the Women's division, after both Sasha Banks and Bayley's shoulders were down during the concluding moments of last week's number one contenders triple threat Charlotte and the WWE Universe learnt last night that the genetically superior champ will defend her women's title against both Sasha Banks and Bayley this up and coming Sunday in another triple threat. And finally newly crowned Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins will have his first title defence when he challenges Brian Kendrik in a match I honestly cannot wait to wittness.

Charlotte Regains Momentum Ahead of Huge Title Defence

The Women's division both on Monday Night RAW and Smackdown LIVE at the moment is on fire. With solid booking and genuinely exciting, must-see matches the female talent in the WWE are on their way up. During last week's episode of Monday night, RAW Sasha Banks was crowned the new Number one contender for the RAW Women's Championship after defeating Bayley and Dana Brooke in a triple threat and was set to face Charlotte one on one for the title this up and coming Sunday at Clash of Champions. However, as we all witnessed, the closing moments of last weeks triple threat  saw both the shoulders of Sasha Banks and Bayley on the matt despite Sasha being the one to pick up the victory. In a backstage interview during last nights show Dana once again put her foot in it, giving general manager Mick Foley an idea, announcing that this up and coming Sunday live on the WWE network, Charlotte will defend her Women's championship in a triple threat against both Sasha Banks and Bayey. But, before we get to Clash of Champions all four women were set to compete in tag team action and while it will be every women for herself come Sunday last night Banks and Bayley were on the same page last night. The match itself was a decent tag team match with a couple of stand out spots and soldi stoory telling. Dana and champ Charlotte were able to keep control throughout most of the match up with both women focusing on the lower back of Banks, the injured spot, to stay in control of the match. The action was much longer than expected and all four women had at least one stand out moment however in the end it was Charlotte who was able to captalise on a distraction and after one big boot put Bayley away to end the match. Some much needed momentum gained for Charlotte ahead of her title defence. I'm defintley lookiing forward to this triple threat on Sunday and after her performance last night Charlotte well and truly could be keeping hold of that title a little longer.

Cesaro Evens Up the Odds

Ove the past month or so I have spoken a lot of the best of seven series between Sheamus and Cesaro. I've commented on the fact that both these men have impressed me massivley since the start of the series and the matches they have proved have defintley surprised me. You guys all know that I was not looking forward to watching seven straight matches between these two but they really have done a great job putting some amazing singles matches over the past month. The start of the series did see Sheamus in complete control. Taking advanatge of an injued shoulder and lower back of Cesaro he was able to pick up three straight vitories over Cesaro leaving the former United States Champion chasing after an important victory. Over the past week Cesao has been able to catch up with his nemises perferctly after a win on RAW and another clean victory two nights later in London Cesaro found himself back in the game and last night he looked to even the odds and he was able to do just that. In what was the quickest match of the series so far Cesaro was able to work his way to a quick victory to even up the odds meaning that their next match up will determin the winner of the entire series. While I do love Sheamus I have to go with Cesaro on this one and I'm hopeing that their final bout is strong enough to be a true stand out not only of the series but of the year. Wishfull thinking?

The Cruiserweights make a Dramatic Arrival

Nothing has kept me more entertained and on the edge of my seat than the Cruisweight Classic. Ten weeks of absoutley phenomenal wrestling, every single one of the men who took part in that torunament made an impact and proved that Cruiweight wrestling really is where it is at. For the past couple of months the WWE have been teasing the return of the divion on Monday night RAW, keeping us all waiting. Over the apst thew weeks annoucements have been made regarding witch names from the classic would be making their way up to Monday night RAW. I am planning on writitng a little "Get to know The Cruiserweights" so if thats something you would be interested in then do let me know. Last week, during the final of the classic Triple H made the huge annoucement that the winner of the tournament would not only also be making their way to Monday night RAW but they will be doing so with the brand new Cruiserweight Championship. After a long night my personal favouite TJ Perkins was able to defeat Gran Matalik to become the first (kind of) WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Now, on last nights episode of Monday Night RAW the divison finally arrived on Monday night RAW and what an impact they made. Cedric Alexander, Brian Kendrick, Rich Swan, and runner up Gran Matalik all made an apperance on last nights show competing in an epic fatal four way to determine a number one contender. This was without a doubt what I was most looking forward to during this weeks show. I had spent all night waiting for this moment and not a single one of these men disapointed. This was without question the match of the night as the cruiserweights made a dramatic impact providing the easy match of the night. It was also one of the most unpredicable matches of theh night. I personally was backing Cedric Alexander but any one of these men could have walked away with the victory. However, in the end it was former WWE Tag Team Champion, Brian Kendrick who picked up an impressive victory and will now go on to face TJ Perkins this Sunday for the Cruiserweight Championship. Easily the match I personally am looking forward to the most.

A Surprising Turn of Events in RAW Main Event

Following the interuption of both Seth Rollins and Rusev during last weeks main event between Roman Reigns and WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens the two were set to do battle onc again only six days away from their indivual championship matches. With the instuctions from general manager Mick Foley Reigns and Owens went toe to toe inside a steel cage in what was another stand out main event. Now, in all honesty I struggled to get into this match as much as I would have liked. The Crusierweight fatal four way before the main event was such a stand out and so well done that nothing Reigns and Owens did was able to outshine what we had just seen. They did however pull
out all the stops and deliver a main event to remember. In a non title bout the pair both showed their urgency to pick up a victory over the other. Back and fourth action between the two gave this match an unpredicable feel and I think it's safe to say no one saw that ending coming. With both men looking to escape the cage at the same time completely unaware of the others actions it was a very very close call but in the end it was Reigns who just about escaped the cage first giving up a huge victory over the Universal Champions only days before a huge pay per view. After the match the action was far from over with Rusev storming down to the ring once again attacking Reigns and after breifley allying himself with KO the pair gave Reigns a beating to remember, making sure to lock the cage so no one else could get in and make the save. However, Seth Rollins had a surprise up his sleeve and made a surprise save climbing the cage and taking out both Kevin Owens and Rusev to close this weeks Monday night RAW.

Personally, I really enjoyed this weeks Monday night RAW. I felt as though every match added to the Clash of Champions card was a strong, must see and the build up and final push did the job in getting me excited for Sunday. The stand out of the night was easily the arrival of the Cruiserweights who completely stole the show! I will of course be live tweeting throughout Clash of Champions this weekend and you can let me know what you thought of this weeks show by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.
