Five Top WWE Superstars Who Should be Booked Better

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! So we reaching the end of yet another week and I thought it was about time I uploaded a brand new top five. After paying extra attention to to Monday night RAW and Smackdown LIVE these past few weeks there was something that really stood out to me and gave me a new idea for a little post. As always, the WWE have been able to present to us some pretty entertaining storyline's and feuds with a bunch of superstars standing out and being given the attention and push they deserve. The likes of Elias Samson, Samoa Joe, Alexa Bliss, The Miz, Jinder Mahal, and Carmella to name a few have all grabbed my attention over the past month. However, there is currently an array of superstars that have found themselves stuck in a pretty crappy position. Some remain apart of a storyline/feud and are faces we are regularly seeing, however when you think about what they could be doing each and every one of them is miles away from where they should be and we as fans know they are far better and deserve stronger booking. In today's blog post we are going to be taking a look at those superstars and discussing what they should be doing and how the WWE can turn things around for those superstars. An NXT version of this post will hopefully be uploaded in the coming weeks also if that is something you will be interested in. Just to let you know, I'm going to be away from the first of July for a week and so I won't be uploading any blog posts during that time and I may miss live tweeting throughout a few shows. When I'm back everything will return to normal with a proper routine kick starting in August. As always, any recent blog post will be linked bellow and you can let me know what you thought of today's blog post and who you think is being used/booked wrongly by leaving a comment at the end of by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria.

THIS POST WAS PRE POSTED A MONTH AGO AND SINCE THEN OPINIONS HAVE CHANGED. AN UPDATED VERSION WILL BE UPLOADED SOON!

Seth Rollins
So we kick start today's blog post off with the one and only, Seth Rollins. Here we have one of the most promising, talented, charismatic, and entertaining superstars of this generation. Over the past six years or so he has been one of the biggest talking points in wrestling. In  fact it was around two thousand and eleven that he found his way to the WWE and became one of the most talked about men of FCW. When you look back at his work from that time he showed every single sign he was one to watch and fur sure be one to grow to become one of the biggest stars of this time. True to expectations Seth Rollins has been completely dominant. A great run in FCW, the first NXT Champion and a huge original star of that brand, and of course from the moment he joined the main roster he has been one of the most talked about and over stars in the company. During his time with the Shield Rollins proved to be the true leader. Reigns was the man we believed would get the big push and go on to achieve great things because of how high the WWE were and always have been on him. He was the man the WWE pushed as the leader of the Shield while Dean Ambrose brought the charisma and personality. Seth Rollins was something else. He and Ambrose of course more experienced than Reigns stood out in in ring competition but if you paid enough attention is as clear that Rollins was the standout man. His potential was insane and when the faction split and went there separate ways it was Rollins who stood out the most and had the biggest impact. Now, Rollins has only just found himself in an awkward position. Up until recently, Rollins work has been fantastic. He has been involved in some amazing storyline's and faced off against some of the best that the WWE has to offer including Brock Lesnar, Triple H, Dean Ambrose, John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Sting to name a few. However, he really has been struggling recently to find himself in a possession where he has just as much moment. He remains a fan favourite and continues to work brilliant matches both weekly on RAW and live on pay per view. However, personally and I know so many other people feel the same but I just haven't found myself enjoying anything from his. Yes, I've loved his performances in recent matches but thats pretty much it and what has been highlighted is how much better he works as a heel. He can most certainly pull off the baby face role but since turning I just haven't found myself liking anything we have seen from him while he works as the good guy. I did really like the feud between Rollins and Triple H. I believe it could have been better but it was the perfect storyline for him and he really did have the fans behind him. Sine then theres just been nothing and now he has found himself in a feud with Bray Wyatt that has generated a very minimal reaction from the WWE universe. His previous feud with Samoa Joe felt the same. We had two fantastic superstars but the story just wasn't there. Good matches as we can expect from Seth and Bray but just like the feud with with Joe no good will come from it for either superstar. Now, personally, I do think the best option for him is moving to Smackdown LIVE. It's exactly what they should have done during the superstar shake up a few months ago. He would have benefited massively from it the move with pplenty waiting for him. Taking on the likes of AJ Styles, Nakamura, current WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and more. Hopefully he will be moved at some point in the near future but for now the WWE should consider pitting him against someone like the Miz for a title run maybe after SummerSlam but Rollins is such a huge name and I doubt this little rough patch will last long.

Sasha Banks
Up next is a superstar I'm sure you were all expecting to see feature on this list, former RAW Women's champion, Sasha Banks. Over the years I have probably written about Sasha Banks more than any other female superstar and rightfully so. Throughout her time in NXT Banks was forever proving herself and managed to graduate from NXT as one of the most iconic, inspirational, entertaining, and talented superstars the brands history. Apart of the four horsewomen, Sasha has been one of biggest talking points in wrestling taking women's wrestling to brand new heights. Her call up to the main roster two years ago saw Banks rise the top. While the WWE pushed Charlotte giving her a title reign very so early after her debut fans remained vocal both appreciating Charlotte's work and demanding more Sasha Banks. Week in and week out "we want Charlotte" chants echoed through the arena and she proved to be a huge part of the roster with her big push inevitable. The WWE have always managed to keep momentum at a high for Sasha with her win loss record strong a number of brilliant matches that have highlighted her as one of the best in ring performers in her divison. However, throughout her main roster run so far there have been so many missed opportunities and moments where the WWE completely failed Sasha. As noted in the past, a win at Wrestlemania for the women's championship during the triple threat main event against Charlotte and Becky Lynch was one of the first mistakes made. We also saw a failed feud between the Boss and Nia Jax, something I really thought could have been so much stronger, and of course something we have all spoken about, her very very short title reigns. Since her previous run as women's champion Banks has really struggled to find a place on the roster where she belongs and can still make an impact. We haven't seen any in ring competition to the standard we have seen from her in the past and her storyline's just haven't been anywhere near what she should be given. Again, just like Seth Rollins and most of the other names set to feature in this list moving over to Smackdown LIVE was probably one of the best options they had however, there is a place for Banks here on Monday night RAW. The roster has some fantastic women she can step in the ring with and I still believe she has a very lengthy title reign coming her way at some point. Also, like Seth Rollins, Banks works far better as a heel and I really do think that once she has a turn things will change for the better and at a very fast pace. Right now, Banks needs momentum and a strong story to bring her back to life and remind fans why they call her the Boss.

Anderson  and Gallows
Honestly, I could have written an entire tag team addition of this post. While I love tag team wrestling and the past couple of years has treated us to some brilliant work from the divison both inside and outside of the WWE there are still so many problems and errors being made by the WWE. NXT fans in- particular will be aware of just how far tag team wrestling has come within the company. The likes of the Revival, American Alpha, Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake, The Authors of Pain, and DIY have raised the bar massively high and put tag team wrestling back at the top. Over on the main roster we have seen so many big moments in the divison including the history making title reign by the New Day, the Usos making the impact they have made, and more recently the return of the Hardy Boyz. We've had the occasional standout match here and there and we all know that there is so much potential for tag team wrestling on both RAW and Smackdown LIVE to take over given that they are provided with the time and the effort. Strong storyline's and better booking will get things back on track. Now, we have seen a number of teams standout over the past few years but there is one duo that has gotten hardcore fans talking about for  all the wrong reasons, Anderson and Gallows. When the pair first arrived in the WWE last year things looked promising. Of course a bigger hit with the more hardcore of fans they walked into the company with everything they needed; a following, a good look, experience, a character that could be built up and in ring skills that can't be taught. With everything there it's been surprising to see just how poorly treated they have been. Honestly, they have had such a rough ride the past year and it's such a shame. Looking back at the last twelve months there is so much the WWE could have done with these guys but even their title reign didn't go down as well as it should have done. I know I have said this already today about the previous names in this post but Smackdown LIVE would have been such a better place for them to work at this year. The tag team divison over on the blue brand is something that really needs to develop and the addition of Anderson and Gallows is exactly what it needed not to mention that the move would have done these guys wonders considering it would be a fresh start and there being so much waiting for them. Now, I do believe that things can turn around for them and as I have been saying for an entire year now, the best option for them is to aligned themselves with Finn Balor and create the Balor club. This is something the remains inevitable  but  there seems to be no signs of the WWE going down that road any time soon. Both Anderson and Gallows and Finn Balor are all stuck in an awkward position  and if the WWE can find the right story than this is one hundred and ten percent the right decision. We would finally see a change in their booking, they will be used as the monster, bad guy heels we know them for and they will get the attention and time to show just how amazing they really are both as wrestlers and characters.

Emma
As I  mentioned in the intro, I really did struggle with coming up with only five names to include in this post. There are so many superstars I would love to be talking about in this post but I really wanted to keep this post as short as possible and if you would like a part two let me know down in the comments section and I will get onto that. Now, I really didn't have any idea as to who I was going to put at this spot in the list. Names including Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper came to mind but after taking a deeper look at both the RAW and Smackdown LIVE I realised there was a certain female superstar that needed to be included. Emma. Okay, so in the past I have spoken a lot about Emma and I have a few blog posts coming up where she will feature again but she without a shadow of a doubt needed to be apart of this post. If you were like me and watched NXT back when it first kick started Emma was such a huge part of the roster and her work with Paige really did start a brand new chapter in women's wrestling. I have already highlighted Emma, Paige and Summer Rae as some of the women who get forgotten about when talking about the women's evolution when it was them who actually started it all. If you haven't watched the battles between Paige and Emma then seriously go check them out as soon as you can! Now, the change in Emma's character was perfect. While her old one had potential the change up was needed and she is no longer forced to work a character that is so limited. During her second run in NXT Emma really proved herself. She competed in a great match up against Asuka at NXT Takeover London and her storylines, alliance with Dana Brooke, and character work had her standing out more than ever and for the first time in a long time fans could see her as a future champion. Now, Emma has been pretty unlucky over the past year, Two injured have had her out of action for quite some time however, now back and looking better than she ever has done its time for the WWE to give Emma that much needed and much deserved push. At the moment the company aren't really do anything with her. When she does appear she is picking up a pretty strong reaction from the crowd and while there may not be a big storyline for her at the moment if they actually gave the female talent more time every week particularly on RAW they could throw Emma in a match against someone like Sasha Banks for twenty minuets and the two could so easily put on the match of the night. Now, I do actually believe that Emma will get her push eventually but at the moment the WWE really could do with working on booking Emma far better on their weekly product.

American Alpha
Okay, so lets be honest, It was watching a recent episode of Smackdown LIVE that I was actually inspired to write this post. Most of you reading this will likely be aware of the fact that I have been a huge fan of American Alpha for quite time. When Jason  Jordan and Chad Gable were first put together I actually had my doubts. Personally I really liked Jordan working with Tye Dillinger and saw potential there for the two to actually grow to become a great tag team. However, it didn't take long for my mind to change and I soon found myself in love with American Alpha. The two instantly connected and we so quickly saw a change in Jason Jordan. Apart of the NXT Roster for quite some time Jordan had spent a lot of time really struggling to find his way and connect with the fans; the moment he was pared with Gable he instantly came out of his shell. Finally, we saw Jordan portray
a more charismatic side of himself and we were able to see far more character weather it be in the in the ring during matches or backstage working on the mic in promos or segments. Of course were also treated to some fantastic matches featuring these two with their rivalry against the Revival being key in the change in perception of tag team wrestling in the WWE. While they had a short run as NXT Tag team champs they were without a shadow of a doubt two of the most over talents on the NXT roster and made such a huge impact during their run there. If you were to talk to any NXT fan every single one of them would have told you that the pair would go up to the main roster and have yet another fantastic run. Their potential was crazy and the storyline's the WWE could have put them in were endless. When American Alpha were drafted to Smackdown LIVE almost a year ago they instantly were hit. The crowd reaction on the night spoke volumes. Everyone in the arena and at home were beyond excited to see the highly respected former champions make their much anticipated arrival on the main roster. Now, just like every other hardcore WWE fan I was hopeful for Jordan and Gable. They had everything you need to make a brilliant tag team and they looked to be destined for
great things but lets be honest, since they arrived on the scene they just haven't managed to get where they need to get to. At the start of their run they got the treatment they deserved. They were pushed, took part in several solid tag team matches and were standouts week in and week out. Okay, so their push may have felt a little lazy and rushed at times but if they were actually given the right storyline that allowed them to show more of their character, history, and what they are made of they would have connected with more fans far more successfully. A good start however didn't last and we sit here now and I honestly cannot remember the last time they competed in tag team action on TV. It does currently look as though the WWE want to do more with Gable on his own and while I believe both superstars could be big on their own its nothing in comparison to what they have the potential to do as a team. All the WWE need to do is invest more time into them. Personally, I don't want to see them go separate ways. I believe that they could so easily be one of the best tag teams of this generation. You already have Gable make an impact on his own but lets throw them back in the mix , give them a storyline, something to really fight for that will have everyone completely hooked. It's so simple with these two, you give them the chance to work a twenty plus minuet mach and they will have heads turning all around the world. It would be such a shame for the WWE to pass up on pushing such a hugely talented tag team with as much potential as American Alpha.

And so that is my list! As I mentioned in the post, I am planning on writing a part two and that should be uploaded in the coming weeks. I am hoping to get back on track soon with uploads! As always you can let me know what you thought of today's post and who you think should feature in the second part by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.
