Five Reasons Why Asuka Should Walk Out Of TLC Women's Champion

This coming weekend the Smackdown LIVE Women’s division will set the world on fire when Becky Lynch defends her championship in a triple threat TLC match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka. The bout is considered to be one of if not the most must-see match of the night with many anticipating this championship contest above any other on the card and in today’s blog post we are going to be focusing entirely on this epic encounter. Looking at the Empress of tomorrow I’m going to be discussing why I believe Asuka is the best option to walk out of the final PPV of the year the new Smackdown LIVE Women’s championship.

A Difficult Year

There is no denying the fact that twenty eighteen hasn’t been as strong for the empress of tomorrow as many were expecting. Fresh off a dominant run down in NXT and an array of history-making moments and a championship reign behind her the WWE universe was left believing her main roster career was going to kick start on a high with that debut year being full of more history-making encounters and epic bouts yet, after receiving her first loss since arriving in the company back at the Wrestlemania pay per view, Asuka struggled to bounce back and as she climbs to the top once again and straight back into the championship picture this is quite frankly a make or break weekend for the empress of tomorrow. While a strong performance would be enough to reassure fans of a secure future with the company and establish her once again as a true dominant figure in the division and the WWE walking out as champion will give Asuka the end to the year she truly needs and deserves. We have seen her make history at the start of twenty eighteen and it would massively be satisfying and beneficial if she could end the year on an even bigger high and at the top of the division.

To Allow Becky Lynch to Focus on Ronda Rousey

It’s clear that there are many ways the WWE can book Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch for next years Wrestlemania event and with it being one of the most anticipated and demanded matches of today the company would be stupid not to deliver this must-see contest on the grandest stage of them all; however, allowing Becky to drop the title may just be the best option the WWE has. Heading into Wrestlemania season without a title will naturally have fans concerned however dropping the title this weekend will give Lynch the chance to spend a good near month chasing after her Smackdown LIVE women’s championship again in a fresh one on one feud with Asuka to end the month competing in the Royal Rumble and walking out the victor. A year after her debut it would be a pretty special moment for Lynch to go on to win the Rumble and pick to face Rousey at Mania for gold. It’s a natural story that works and allows Lynch to go on to make more history and have yet another huge moment winning only the second ever all women’s Royal Rumble match.

Asuka’s Road to Beating Charlotte Flair

Asuka vs Charlotte Flair at this past Wrestlemania event was by far one of my personal favourite matches of the year and while it saw the end of Asuka’s undefeated streak it also set up more work between the two to take place further down the line and the perfect timing for that re-match build may just be now. If Asuka is to walk out as champion this coming weekend it means heading into Mania season, she will need a fresh new opponent and keeping Flair out the scene for a while will benefit both her and the division, however, when Mania edges closer it only makes sense for these two women to collide once again. A year after their first mania match against each other it would be pretty damn epic for Charlotte to point out that the Empress is yet to pin her clean and the true road to redemption and proving herself to be a worthy champion starts there and a victory over the Queen on the grandest stage of them all.

Something New for the Smackdown LIVE Women’s Division

While there is simply no denying the fact that Charlotte and Becky Lynch have raised the bar in terms of women’s wrestling in the WWE, I am desperate to see something new on Tuesday nights in terms of the female talent and creating a new top dog in the division is vital. Asuka is, of course, the perfect women for the job for she is evidently one of the top stars the blue brand currently has and owns all the credentials to be a successful champion in the WWE today. A run as champion will allow new feuds to take place, the likes of Sonya Deville to step forward and the likes of Nikki Cross to arrive on the scene and re-create the magic we saw between her and the Empress down in NXT this time on the main roster.

Becky Lynch vs Asuka

I’ve mentioned it already in today’s blog post but seeing Asuka walk out of TLC the new Smackdown LIVE Women’s Champion will kick-start an in-depth one on one feud between the Empress and Becky Lynch, a feud I have wanted to see for a very long time! It’s clear these two women have all the potential in the world to deliver a five-star worthy match and it’s something I would love to see very soon! The timing of course also works out perfectly with the TLC stipulation meaning Lynch isn’t pinned and doesn’t have to be completely responsible for a loss. In the role of a heel Lynch has the perfect story and with everything else we have spoken about today taken into consideration, this could not be a better scenario.

And those are just some of the reasons I believe Asuka should walk out of this Sundays TLC pay per view the new Smackdown LIVE women’s champion. Now, a part of me would seriously love to see the gold kept on Lynch but looking at this match I’m expecting this to be one of the standouts of the entire year and it's clear literally any one of these three women could walk out as the champ and so I honestly cannot wait!
