Five WWE Superstars Paige Could Manage/Mentor

In a recent interview, it was noted that former NXT Women’s and Divas champion Paige would be interested in the potential role of a WWE manager. Upon the news of her in-ring retirement only early this year Paige was given the new position of Smackdown LIVE general manager and fans have wondered what could await the Total Divas star in the near future. With discussion regarding the possibility of becoming a manager in today’s blog post I’m going to be listing five superstars I would love to see Paige manage at some point!

This post was pre-posted two weeks ago, however, following Paige's recent step down as Smackdown LIVE GM this post seems even more relevant!

Absolution

While the current state of the friendship between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville is a touch on the messy side this has to be the most popular pick in terms of “clients” for Paige. It was last year that the WWE universe saw the former champion make her return bringing the tough enough competitors along with her. Adopting the role of Smackdown LIVE GM did see a change in the relationship Paige had with Rose and Deville however, it wouldn’t be too difficult to reunite the three giving Paige a slightly different role this time sticking soley in the position of manager. We all know how much I would love to see tag team titles introduced for women’s division and angle that sees Paige turn on the rest of the roster to assist Rose and Deville in their win to become champions easily opens the door for Paige to manage her first set of superstars; However, even without this angle it’s easy to get these superstars working together and one that would work so so well considering there is a relationship already established.

UPDATE: Now that Paige is no longer the Smackdown general manager, taking back her role as the manager of Absolution appears to be even more likely with Paige looking to get her girls back on track.

Lars Sullivan

Okay okay okay, hear me out. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge Lars Sullivan fan and have been throughout the past year. The news of him coming up to the main roster has me very excited and I have to admit that while I strongly believe Sullivan doesn’t need a manager and is capable of becoming a major star on his own I do like the idea of the WWE trying out something different with him. It’s rumored Sullivan is in for a Braun Strowman style of push however, I know I for sure do not want to see something too similar to what we have already seen and shaking things up by giving Sullivan a manager in the shape of Paige could introduce a whole new exciting dynamic. It has also been discussed that Sullivan could be in the position of a free agent which could make this more difficult but out of everyone on the list today it’s this pairing that is far more catered to something I personally want to see rather than something that could happen, however, if you really think about it this could be pretty damn epic.

Mike Hitchman

Being involved with the NXT UK division is something I do really want to see the WWE move forward for Paige in the future. Taking on a role amongst the roster makes perfect sense whether it be a new commentator, future general manager or manager of a certain superstar/superstar  is something that could honestly work greatly and push the NXT UK division to even bigger heights. Looking at the current roster there are several names I would enjoy watching Paige work alongside from the likes of Rhea Ripley to Jinny to male superstars like Tyson T -Bone but it was Mike Hitchman who really did top the list. Personally, I have seen Hitchman live and I can honestly say he is one of the most exciting superstars to watch in the ring. Experienced, talented, unique, and capable of working must-see matches Hitchman is an interesting talent with loads to offer and with a manager by his side some real magic could be created. Brining something totally unique to the NXT UK brand this may seem like an odd pairing, but I have no doubt that if done correctly this could really be something exciting elevating Hitchman massively.

Rhea Ripley

Again, anyone who knows me knows that I am a pretty big Rhea Ripley fan and seeing her lead the NXT UK Women’s division is pretty exciting. Now, Ripley has come a long way during her WWE career and like everyone else on that list I do believe that she can find great success on her own, however, introducing Paige as her manager later in the championship reign could make for an interesting little twist. There are similarities within the character Rhea portrays and what we saw from Paige during her own NXT run making this a pairing with great potential. Adding another element to Ripley’s character and career this makes for arguably the most exciting pairing on the list today taking the women’s division, the NXT UK brand and the careers of both women to an exciting new level.

The Ascension

And to conclude today’s blog post I really did want to include a tag team and looking at the division across both brands it was the Ascension who really did stand out. Now, I know these guys haven’t had an easy ride up on the main roster and considering what we saw from them during their NXT days it’s a shame things haven’t worked out but in a dream world I would like to believe it isn’t too late and things can turn around for Konnor and Viktor. Taking them away from TV, not putting them in any matches, and bringing them back with a new attitude and direction could easily take them from the bottom to the top if done correctly and introducing Paige in the role of their manager may just be a move that saves them. Now, this is the one pairing on the list today I believe could go really bad if done in the wrong manner but I also believe this could be one of the best if given the time and effort. The talent is there and the characters appear on paper to work.

And that is my list! Okay, I know this is a very random list and there are other names I wanted to mention but this was most certainly a more fun idea and one that allowed me to really explore some dream pairings. I know the likes of Ronda Rousey may have made the list for some but I did really want to include names that were a little more random and personal favourites! The direction involving Paige going into the role of manager is one that could either be an amazing and smart move with an excellent payoff or the complete opposite, but I defiantly would like to at least see it explorde! But what do you think? Let me know if you believe this is a role Paige should adopt and if so who should she stand alongside?
