WWE TLC 2018: Bold Predictions, Must Happens, and Questions

This weekend the final WWE PPV of the year, TLC will take place live from San Jose, California to conclude what has been an intense twenty eighteen. Now, while Monday nights haven’t quite been going down well over the last few weeks bouts including Rousey vs Jax and Rollins vs Ambrose stand out as must-sees for the night but over on Smackdown LIVE the blue brand has a red hot line up consisting of Bryan vs Styles and Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka that has got fans buzzing for the last big event of the year! In today’s blog post I’m going to be sharing some of my bold final predictions so grab a snack and let’s dive into it!

SanItY Make Their Presence Felt

Since arriving on the main roster former NXT Tag Team champions and dominant faction, Sanity hasn’t quite been making the impact many expected. From poor booking to a forgetful debut to next to no strong direction, a promising trio has been massively underused throughout a good chunk of twenty eighteen. Now, while much of the past year hasn’t been all too great for Sanity the WWE can at least make sure Alexander Wolf, Killian Dane, and Eric Young conclude the year on a high by making an appearance at this weekend’s TLC pay per view causing sheer chaos for the tag team division. With the best of the best being showcased from the blue brand's tag team division is gives Sanity the chance to truly make an impact, take everyone out in the process, destroy a promising match and set their sights on tag team gold.

Women’s TLC Match Steals the Show

One of the matches I am most looking forward to this weekend is, of course, the Smackdown LIVE Women’s Triple threat TLC match to determine the women’s champion. Becky Lynch, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair will do battle in of the most anticipated matches of the year promising to be a true standout of twenty eighteen. As three of not only Smackdown LIVE’s brightest stars but the WWE as a whole, these three women have raised the bar throughout their career and with each woman having a strong following of support anyone could walk out the victor. Now, I have already uploaded a blog post discussing why I believe Asuka should take the win this weekend and that will be linked below, however, regardless of the outcome I have no doubt this will be one of the strongest matches of the night I seriously hope these women are giving plenty of time to raise the bar even more and present fans with something truly special!

Dean Ambrose Walks out the Intercontinental Champion

Another match I am massively anticipating Is the one on one between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Throughout their careers, the pair has proven that when sharing a ring together they can create something truly special with an array of must-see standout matches between one another already to their name. With the roles reversed this time around seeing Ambrose shine in the role of a heel and Rollins the loveable babyface this should be an interesting, personal, and barbaric Collison with great history and story. The build for this bout has been strong and with a new season in the WWE approach as we head into Wrestlemania months, this is an important match for everyone involved. I strongly believe that while this will most certainly be a great match the end result must see Ambrose walk out the new IC champion. His new character and position of a heel must prove to be the right move and a successful one by seeing him take home gold while Rollins ditching the title will allow him to focus on even bigger things, a position in the run to become Universal Champion in the middle of January heading into Mania. It’s important Rollins shows he is ready for the true top spot again while Ambrose and this new version of him takes off to a new level.

Natalya Defeats Ruby Riott

While Ruby Riott is a woman I strongly want to see pushed massively in the new year this match is one that I do believe should be won by Natalya. Now, I do think it’s important that Ruby has the chance to truly make an impact and shine in a match against an opponent like Nattie who can bring out the best in her in a stipulation where she herself can show how different she is from the rest of the division, however, the closing moments should most certainly see the former women’s champion take a much-needed win. It could very easily be argued that both need the win but considering how wrong and almost disgusting this storyline is Natalya is in a must-win situation and the WWE must turn things around. Taking home, the win gives Nattie the momentum she needs, clears up the mess the WWE has created, and edge her closer to becoming more selfish and focused on betraying on her friend to take the top spot (challenge Ronda Rousey).

AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan Have the Match Fans Want

With jam-packed full of must-see matches, another stand out comes from the WWE Championship contest between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles. There are several bouts that the WWE should give plenty of time to however, it is massively important this one, in particular, is given the spotlight. While it makes all the sense in the world for these two to main event the entire show regardless of where during the night the match is booked, we need to see the sheer wrestling excellence these two can deliver. As two of the strongest in-ring wrestlers in the world today they deserve to have this time to show the WWE can do strong wrestling contest rivaling what we see on the indie scene. It’s also important we get any idea as to what awaits Styles next in the new year.

Will Ronda Rousey Drop Gold?

If I'm being totally honest, the RAW Women's championship bout between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey isn't something I'm jumping with joy for. I haven't been the biggest fan of this push for Nia and like many, I'm probably still bitter over the Lynch situation, however, I do think there are many options in regards to this match. After what we have seen before I do believe we could get a decent match out of this and considering Tamina could have some interference we may be left shocked to see Jax walk out as champion. If that does happen it opens doors for Rousey to switch brands and Ember to step up while Moon coming out to even out the numbers can allow Rousey to keep her title while also putting Moon into a spotlight she truly deserves and a title opportunity around the corner.

RAW’s Top Stars Get Much Needed Momentum

And finally, while there are a lot of matches to look forward to this weekend I do feel as though there were many that didn’t need to be added to the card and could have been saved for episodes of RAW meaning those bigger matches were given more time. However, these bouts have in fact been booked and so its important that some are kept short and sweet and we see momentum added to these guys ahead of the build to the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania season. Its important smart booking is created for Drew McIntyre, Lashley, Corbin, and Strowman.

And those are some of my predictions and wants for this weekend’s TLC pay per view. I will, of course, be live tweeting throughout the show on Sunday and you can tweet me your predictions over at @TezangiVictoria
