My 6 Favourite Wrestlers Today
With so much amazing wrestling content being put out to the
world every single week there really is an excellent variety of styles, brands
and talent and in today’s blog post I want to celebrate that and dive into some
of my favourites as of right now. Whenever I’m asked who my favourite wrestler
is I find it impossible to name just one and so below I have listed six of my
current favourite wrestlers from across the wrestling scene but who would make
your top six?

Jordynne Grace
As you guys know, I have really been enjoying the content
over on Impact Wrestling over the last couple of months. During that time, it’s
become clear that the knockouts division is stronger than it has been in a very
long time and one of the leading faces there is Jordynne Grace. Now, this is a
woman who for me is ticking all the boxes and stealing the show. Week after
week we are seeing Grace work fantastic matches with standout bouts against the
likes of Kiera Hogan, Tessa Blanchard, and Madison Rayne to name just a few.
Her power and athletic skill combined make her a serious force to be reckoned
with and she remains one of the names I am most excited to watch every week. I
have no doubt we are looking at a future knockouts champion and if she can keep
up this moment her future looks incredibly bright!
Roderick Strong
Moving over to NXT now and there is no denying just how
dominant the Undisputed Era is right now. They are stronger and more important
than ever before, and boy are they letting the world know about it! However,
while Adam Cole plays the role of leader it's Rodrick Strong who for me has been
stealing the spotlight in recent months. From arguing against Cole to his
standout performances in the ring, Strong is showing he is far from the weak
link of the group and bright things most certainly await him. His huge match up
against Matt Riddle the most recent Takeover Event was his best singles match
in a while and he has become a major talking point over on the black and gold
brand today. Now the North American Champion Roderick Strong is killing it on the NXT roster and has become a serious dark horse on the Black and Gold brand and one of the most consistent stars in the WWE today.
Tessa Blanchard
As far as the best female wrestlers in the world today go
Tessa Blanchard sure as hell is very much near the top of that list! Charisma,
skill, amazing wrestling ability and an array of must-see matches already
behind her, it's crazy to believe she’s under twenty-five with the best still yet
to come. Dominating the IMPACT Wrestling knockouts division from the moment she
arrived this year has seen Blanchard take on Gail Kim in one of the hottest rivalries
of the year as well as go face to face with Taya and now as she enters a new position
on the roster and within her character, Blanchard has stepped into the
intergender wrestling scene. A heated and must-see rivalry with Sami Callihan
and the rest of OVE has seen Blanchard truly prove she can deliver a brilliant
match with any talent male or female and her up and coming singles bout against
Callihan is one I have anticipated more than any other match this year! There
never really is much better than two of your favourite wrestlers going one on
one!
Ricochet
Up next, we have the only WWE main roster talent to appear
on this list, the current (well as I write this) United States champion,
Ricochet. Now, it was a slow start up on the main roster for Ricochet. He didn’t
receive a big-time push the moment he arrived but what we did see was slow
progress and a massive turn around he truly did deserve. From epic standout
matches against Cesaro to challenging Samoa Joe for the US title Ricochet has
had a brilliant couple of months and that’s without mentioning his huge RAW man
event contest against AJ freaking Styles. The future looks so bright for this
former NXT star and with so may dream matches awaiting him I genuinely cannot
wait to see what he gets up to next!
Jon Moxley
Now, where do we even begin here? Since leaving the WWE Jon
Moxley has become one of the biggest names in pro wrestling today. His
popularity from his time working under Dean Ambrose in the WWE has taken him to
brand new heights as he starts a new chapter in his career. From making a shock
arrival at AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV to debuting for New Japan and winning
gold there, there really is no stopping Moxley! I personally have always been
such a huge fan that I’m so happy to see him doing so well but what really is exciting
here is knowing there is still so much more to come and the best really is yet
to be seen! (Keep in mind this post was written before Moxley's injury)
Imperium
Okay, so this last entry may technically be seen as cheating
a little, but I just had to include a tag team or faction and Imperium really
have been making one heck of an impact! Since forming, WALTER, Alexander Wolf,
Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel have created a whole new feel over on the NXT
UK roster. Their dominance and unique stance have shifted things massively and an exciting new time has started on the brand. The faction brings something
very exciting to table and the potential storyline’s that await them make for must-see
content. I’ve loved their promos, segments, and collision with British Strong
Style and the edge they have provided to NXT UK is super excited! We also now are witnessing the NXT UK stable make an impact over in NXT and with a possible collision with The Undisputed Era on the horizon we have plenty to look forward to where these men are concerned.
And that is my list! Of course, there were so many other
names I wanted to include here but these genuinely are my favourite wrestlers
today! As always, I would love to know what you guys think so feel free to leave
a comment or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria telling me who your favourite
wrestlers are today.
