My Top 5 WWE Tag Teams of All Time
Growing up a huge wrestling fan, tag team wrestling was
always something that stood out to me and kept me entertained! Throughout history, there have been so many epic teams grace the WWE stage and there have been a handful of standout matches from the division that has continued to raise the
bar as well as go down as all-time wrestling greats. While today, we see flaws
within how the tag team division is booked it remains an area within the WWE
that has so much potential, space to grow and fantastic names, however, as far
as all-time greats go just who really stands as the best tag team of all time?

The New Day
We kick start today’s blog post off with a modern-day tag
team in the form of the New Day. Naming these guys as one of the best tag teams
of all time may appear to be a bold statement but it most certainly is
justified! As the longest-reigning tag team champions of all time and several
title reigns (Five to be precise) Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E have
reminded fans that tag team wrestling is far from dead in the WWE today and
have worked some of the best tag team bouts we have seen in recent years. Their
genuine connection is evident whenever the trio appears on screen and their
charisma and popularity is simply something, we haven’t seen change as the
years have gone by. The story of three amazingly talented superstars coming
together and completely changing their careers around is both admirable and
pretty damn epic and fans have truly seen the journey they have been on!
Brothers of Destruction
When I was creating this list I had a great time looking
back at tag team matches over the years and reliving my childhood and
recounting what we saw between Kane and The Undertaker and their story reminded
me of just how much I loved watching these two not only as singles stars but as
a tag team. The Brothers of Destruction had such a huge backstory and that alone
was enough to leave fans completely hooked, however, their haunting and over
the top characters left audiences of all ages massively entertained! Their
dominance in the ring and charisma was completely gripping and amazing to watch
especially as a kid. Looking back now it's extremely nostalgic and special especially
knowing you were able to be apart of the era these two worked! As two of the
biggest stars in the history of the company, it makes all the sense in the world
that they make this list today!
The Dudley Boyz
Growing up, the Dudley Boyz were such a huge part of why I
loved watching tag team wrestling. Devon and Bubba where the badass duo I and
so many fans just couldn’t get enough of and the pair are sure to go down as
future Hall of Famers! Apart of some of the most iconic tag team wrestling
matches the company and the industry have ever seen, the Dudley Boyz will
forever remain all-time greats and while their recent return run with the WWE
was disappointing, to say the least, no one can take away the buzz these two created
amongst the tag team division.
The Usos
Going back to modern-day tag teams and the Usos are up next.
Now, if you know me you will know that there was a time where I was arguably
the biggest Usos hater. Yup. I had zero interest in their work and while the
pair were evidently very talented and took part in great matches their
character work was stale and unappealing, however, the moment their heel turn
took place we saw a dramatic shift as did my opinions. We saw more depth,
character development and generally better content from Jimmy and Jey. In
recent years the two have taken part in unbelievably brilliant tag team encounters,
made history and are multi-time tag team champions. They have climbed the
ladder massively becoming the biggest tag team in the company today and there
is no denying they deserve to be named one of the best of all time.
The Hardy Boyz
And to conclude, we have without a shadow of a doubt my all-time
favourite tag team, The Hardy Boyz. From pretending to literally be them, jumping
off everything in sight and mimicking their entrance, I grew up the biggest
Hardy Boyz fan and to this day, watching the pair on my screen leaves me
excited and of course now, nostalgic While always the bigger Jeff fan, it's
clear both men have given so much to the wrestling industry and shaped tag team
wrestling. The Hardy Boyz were a part of
a time where tag team wrestling was at its best and as a result, took part in
some of the very best and most iconic tag team matches in WWE history. The pair
raised the bar and changed the game and had a major influence both on fans and
the tag team wrestling division.
Of course, this was completely an opinion based blog post
and these are the tag teams I believe are one hundred per cent my personal
favourites but I would love to know what you guys think and who you would rank
as your number one WWE tag team of all time so feel free to leave a comment
below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria.
