5 Main Roster Superstars John Morrison MUST Face Upon Return

Last week’s episode of WWE Backstage revealed that former WWE tag team champion John Morrison will be making a return to the WWE after signing once again. Now, it has been a long time since Morrison was last inside a WWE ring and a lot has changed. From the talent on the roster to the superstar Morrison has become things are not the same and so this second time around with the company looks to be very interesting for this former champion. Will the WWE get it right? Will fans see the Morrison we have been bearing witness to since his departure from World Wrestling Entertainment? And just what are the dream matches for Morrison upon his return to the WWE?

Seth Rollins

While forever finding himself in the middle of controversy there is no denying that Seth Rollins is one of the best wrestlers on the scene today. He has been apart of so many standouts matches throughout his career and a collision with a returning John Morrison could very easily be yet another to add to the list. Morrison is an incredibly skilled, athletic and charismatic talent and it’s a collision with Rollins that could bring all that out. It’s also facing former Universal Champion Seth Rollins that could highlight just how far he has come since his last WWE appearance. The two share similarities within the ring and when it comes to their wrestling styles and there is no denying that an exciting match would take place between these two that highlight Morrison as a top/main event style superstar while also providing a fast-paced bout with nonstop action and fantastic wrestling!

The Miz

While there are so many superstars John Morrison could meet in the ring to provide an epic match up with there is no current WWE superstar Morrison needs to face more than the Miz. The history between these two is all there, from their days as a tag team to their rivalries and what is clear more than anything is just how far both men have come over the years. These are not the same two men from elven years ago. They have both proven to be worth so much more than what they were originally showcased for and have climbed the ladder. Both men are full of charisma and so much talent and while this may not be the strongest match of this list today but it promises to have the best story attached to it, the most convincing angle and one of the strongest potential comeback setups for Morrison. This is an inevitable collision upon Morrisons return.

Ricochet

During their time in Lucha Underground Ricochet and John Morrison took part in so many classic matchups that really defined their careers and highlighted them as fantastic in-ring performers and seeing them do the same thing on the WWE stage is something that simply has got to happen! Both men are incredibly athletic and have proven to be able to bring out the very best in one another. Colliding in twenty twenty is something that is sure to remind fans of how skilled and athletic Ricochet is and truly highlight him as a main player while for Morrison this is a perfect returning match, it enables him to show the world what type of talent he is and work a match that could very easily be a match of the year candidate.

Rey Mysterio

A huge potential angle for Morrison upon his return to the WWE would be setting his sights on Rey Mysterio and the United States Championship. These two have worked standout matches before but today I believe they could really bring out the best in one another and Mysterio could so easily set Morrison up for a brilliant new run with the company. Putting a title on Morrison is a must for his first year back and considering their past, their in-ring styles, and their athleticism this is a must-see match that can massively benefit both men.

AJ Styles

When it comes to athleticism and wrestling IQ AJ Styles and John Morrison has it nailed. These are two talents who can work those very lengthy matches and surprise fans with their talent each and every time they step foot in the ring. What is so great about this future collision is what Styles can do for Morrison. There is no superstar who can really show just how far Morrison has come all round whether it be as a character or an in-ring talent than AJ styles. A win over the phenomenal one would make for a huge statement for Morrison but its also Styles who I believe can bring out the very best in Morrison in the ring and really show him to finally be that main event star to watch.

Of course, there really are so many names who could step in the ring with Morrison and provide an epic match with but also show how far Morrison has come. The landscape of the WWE Has changed massively over the years and so has Morrison so could we be about to see a new top talent arise and one epic return take place?
