5 Superstars Who Benefited from 205 LIVE

While 205LIVE Doesn’t always get the credit, it deserves there can be no denying that the show has done wonders for several superstars. Whether it be developing characters or given talent a space to show what they are capable of in the ring 205LIVE has most certainly had a positive effect on several names despite not being the WWE’s most popular weekly product. Of all the talent to pass through the roster and cruiserweight division in recent memory just who has benefited the most from being apart of the 205LIVE roster?

Drake Maverik

It does sadden me to see Drake Maverik unable to showcase his wrestling ability for he is, in fact, an experienced and skilled wrestler, however, Maverik is an incredibly charismatic talent and the WWE have latched onto that fully. As the 205LIVE General manager, the British star has been able to show just how much character he possesses bringing a much-needed fresh element to 205LIVE and all the entertainment factor you could ask for! Now, it has taken the WWE time to figure out exactly what works for Drake and while there is still so much of him to come and so much more the WWE needs to do with him the spotlight of 205LIVE gave Drake Maverik the opportunity to show his potential as a character and led him to take part in very entertaining content on the main roster so far.

Buddy Murphy

While he may not currently be used to his full potential on the main roster the best is most certainly still to come from this former Cruiserweight champion! Buddy Murphy really did take fans on a journey, dropping his weight to the 205 limits Murphy joined the roster turned things around! From performing in his home country of Australia to working a memorable Cruiserweight title reign Murphy raised the bar over on 205LIVE. It was several singles matches against an array of superstars on 205LIVE that showcased Murphy to be a true top talent in the WWE. His skills are incredibly impressive and as a member of the main roster today I really do hope the WWE eventually uses him to his full potential. There’s no denying 205LIVE turned things around for the career of Buddy and gave him the second chance he needed.

Mustafa

Mustafa really was the first true big-time success story of the modern-day cruiserweight division. Going from 205LIVE to the main roster pretty much out of nowhere no one saw this push coming and it was so well received. A likable superstar he really did win over fans with his in-ring skills. However, it must be noted that 205LIVE really was a career saver for Mustafa and proved that its talent like him that benefit most from having somewhere like 205LIVE to perform. It’s here Mustafa was given the stage and time to work lengthy matches that showed him to be an amazing in-ring performer. His wrestling skills left fans stunned and completely invested in him but without 205 LIVE there really is a lot of questions regarding when or if he would have had the chance to show the depths of his skill that would result in a bigger push and greater spotlight.

Lio Rush

The newly crowned Cruiserweight champion can most certainly be listed a superstar who benefited or is in fact currently benefiting from time on 205LIVE. Full of charisma and wrestling ability despite his young age, Rush and exciting superstar who has already had a rollercoaster of a journey with the WWE so far. After things didn’t quite work out for Rush on the main roster returning to NXT and of course 205LIVE has been a blessing in disguise and in ways given him a second chance. While he may not be getting the big-time exposer he received on Monday night RAW earlier in the year 205LIVE is the fitting spot for him right now and in the position of champion not only is the show helping push Lio further but Rush bringing a great deal to 205 LIVE.

Aiden English

Despite it being quite some time since we last saw Aiden English in the ring 205LIVE has given him a completely new direction. Now, English is a very talented in-ring performer and he most certainly does not get the credit he deserves for his wrestling ability however, the change in direction has been a big-time career saver for English. He makes for a good announcer that has become a great part of 205LIVE but the position also opens him to storylines in the future if he is to return to the ring. The show has worked wonders for English and given him the space to show his charisma and likability in a new area of the business.

Despite not being the most popular WWE product nor the most talked about 205LIVE has been massively beneficial for several superstars and continues to work an interesting platform for talent across the company but moving forward who can fans expect to see grace the 205 LIVE roster? Who will benefit from the move? And overall will the WWE make more of this show or is the downfall already taken place?
