Who I Wanted to See in Women's MITB 2020
If you know me, you now that Money in the Bank is one of my
favourite WWE PPV’s of all time. I look forward to this event every single year
and despite the unique circumstances I’m just as excited for this years MITB pay
per view. We have twelve stars from RAW and Smackdown in total looking to get
their hands on the Money in the Bank Briefcase and secure a guaranteed championship
opportunity. Qualifying matches have been set and the likes of Shayna Baszler,
Asuka and Nia Jax have cemented the place in this year’s ladder match but have
the right names been thrown into the spotlight? Well, today I’m going to be
running through the six names from the women’s division I would have booked to
compete in this years MITB ladder match and I will be revealing who I originally
wanted to see walk out Miss Money in the Bank twenty-twenty.
While I can see why the names we have seen qualified have been picked to compete inside Money in the Bank this year I do feel as though there were some opportunities missed. This list is just who I personally would have loved to see compete this year but what is your dream MITB 2020 lineup?

Liv Morgan
There has been so much hype around Liv Morgan since her
return to action and rightfully so! While her in-ring performances have been
limited to short matches Morgan has shown huge improvements to her move set and
in-ring skills and has become a major fan favourite. Gaining momentum in recent
weeks and working solid bouts it would have been incredibly fitting to see her
walk into this years MITB Ladder match. A stipulation contest like this would
have allowed Liv to really shine and show the depths of her move set with the
style of this match sure to compliment her style and athletic gift. There is
still so much to seed from Morgan, and this could have been a real insight into
what is to come from her further down. The competition is, of course, stiff but
she would have also made for a great MITB winner this year for creating a new big
star out of her would have sure gone down well with fans and worked as something
different to the usual faces we see at the top. Not to mention a qualifying
match up between Liv and Ruby would have been great to add more depth to their personal
rivalry and history.
Sasha Banks
The Smackdown Women’s Division is notably weaker than the
RAW and NXT Women’s division and so picking the contenders for this years MITB
ladder match to represent the blue brand is important. Sasha Banks is sitting
comfortably with the current champion and there is sure to be more to come
there with Banks most certainly likely to turn on her long-term friend but
could the MITB briefcase been added fuel to the fire? The MITB briefcase is so well
suited to the character of Banks and she has sure gone down as a favourite to
have won this year’s women’s ladder match becoming Miss Money in the Bank. Winning
the briefcase would a new angle to her relationship with Bayley and gave more
story to what is already growing and has so much to it. There is a lot of
build, promos and segments we could see from Banks as Miss MITB and unlike the
previous two cash-ins it would be great to see a female superstar hold onto the
briefcase for a while. It makes for a nice addition that Bayley was the last
winner of this match.
Bianca Belair
Despite being the newest face to join Monday Night RAW and
in need of building momentum I would have loved to have seen Belair compete at
this years MITB PPV and believe it would have been incredibly beneficial. While
she would have made for a great winner this time around (I do believe she will
win the MITB briefcase in the future) her overall performance in this match
could have been something very special indeed. Belair is an amazing all-round
star with power, strength and insane athleticism that would have been on perfect
display in a match like this. It would have been a great way to introduce Belair
to main roster audiences watching from home allowing them to become more aware
of her style and capabilities. Win or loss this had the potential to be a very
important and successful night for Belair and it’s a shame she isn’t competing
this time around but keep an eye out for her in future MITB ladder matches.
Lacey Evans
I bloody love Lacey Evans! This is a woman sure to be a
future champion and already this year we have seen so many great performances.
MITB is such a fitting matchup for a talent like Evans considering her move
set and athleticism. We could see some amazing spots from Lacey involving
ladders and high-risk moves that leave us all speechless and remembering just
how brilliant she is. While Evans may not be a major fan favourite for the win,
she is a key name in this match that would add memorable moments and contribute
to why this bout could go down as a standout. Not to mention the great
collisions with other names in this match.
Kairi Sane
Kairi Sane has really become one of my favourite RAW
superstars. From her character work to captivating in-ring performances there
can be no denying she too a champion in the making. The MITB Ladder Match is
incredibly fitting to Sane and her style and again we could have seen some
really awesome spots throughout. Now, I’m sure Asuka will have a great showing in
three weeks’ time in this match for we know just how good she is inside Ladder
Matches but this would have been a great opportunity for Sane to take the spotlight
and have her moment. She would have also made for a great surprise winner.
Tamina
Okay, so I know there were other names sure to be favourites
to enter this list aside from Tamina but hear me out. I like to see a
powerhouse inside a MITB ladder match and while Belair brings that to a
certain degree Tamina is known for her
power and dominance and would have been apart of some great moments that also
added to why this would have been a memorable and entertaining bout. Not to
mention that collisions between Tamina and Belair would have been great for the
newcomer and added to her momentum despite a possible lose. Tamina is a woman
who has always deserved more credit and in previous ladder matches has stood
out for her performances here and what she has contributed to them.
While I can see why the names we have seen qualified have been picked to compete inside Money in the Bank this year I do feel as though there were some opportunities missed. This list is just who I personally would have loved to see compete this year but what is your dream MITB 2020 lineup?
