After a devastating ending to the number one contenders tag team tournament earlier on in the month the Vaudevillians have made their way into the championship picture and with only a month into their main roster debut they will face the New Day for the WWE Tag Team Championships this Sunday at the Extreme Rules pay per view. As former champions themselves they know what it takes to both capture and defend tag team gold (bronze) but with the most dominate and over team as their opponents this weekend will they be able to walk out as champions? Or will the New Day hold onto their championships a little longer?

It was all the way back in August of last year that the New Day won the WWE Tag Team Championships and since then they have been the most dominate and entertaining force in the division. Achieving brilliant success while holding their championships they have manage to defend the titles against any and every opponent that has stood in their way and as they slowly reach the one year mark this weekend they face a new opponent in the Vaudevillians.

This is a match I'm very very interested in. As a big big fan of both of these teams its going to be interesting seeing how they work together to bring their very different styles together and of course the end result is going to be one to watch. This is a very very important night for both of these tag teams but especially the Vaudevillians. The truth is is they haven't been on the scene very long at all and so far they haven't had the best of starts. Yes, they may have a couple of victories on their side and they are the number one contenders for the tag team championships but as far as getting over and having the fans understand them they really have been struggling more than any of the new NXT talents to get the call up. When you are pitted against a team like Enzo and Cass who are so massively charismatic you are going to be under a lot of pressure and with the Vaudevillians having such a unique and different character that can be difficult to understand they have struggled a lot. There are plenty of fans who don't watch NXT that just haven't connected with this team at all. In their defence however over the past couple of weeks they have been working extremely hard and their bookings have allowed them to show off more of their capabilities and their mic work has showcased them to be interesting heels. This weekend however is going to be huge for them and regardless of the end result, witch will seriously impact their careers, they need to walk out Extreme Rules leaving the fans impressed with their work and wanting more of their wrestling.

Anyone that has watched NXT and paid serious attention to the Vaudevillians know all to well that these guys have such great charisma and talent and are capable of delivering a fantastic match given the time. Putting them against the New Day who also are seriously charismatic and amazingly gifted in the ring this sets up a match that could go down as one of the strongest tag team matches of the year. But time is going to be key. The Vaudevillians have a very different style to the New Day and a very different character but together they could really both on a great match. I'm hopeing that it's going to be a lengthy one that allows Aiden English and Simon Gotch to show off their skills and really impress the fans. As far as choosing a winner for this match and all round end result it's actually pretty difficult because this is one that could really go any way depending on what the WWE have planned for the next couple of months or so. The tag team division is one that is looking very very strong at the moment and very busy. We have so much talent and even more slowly getting the call up over the next thew months. When thinking about this match we have to take into consideration the Vaudevillians, the New Day, Enzo and Cass and of course Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Personally, I don't believe that the WWE will have the New Day drop the championships to the Vaudevillians this weekend. Of course I wouldn't mind them doing so. I feel as though English and Gotch would seriously make good champions and bring something good to the division and it would be nice to have new heel champions that bring something very different to the table. However, the time just doesn't feel right for them. It still feels like they have a lot of building up to do and a lot more to show and work on including winning over the WWE universe witch will come with time. But you also have to think about Enzo and Cass. When Enzo is back in action and chasing after the tag team championships again who do the face for them? The New Day will most probably be willing to give them a championship match due to how the number one contenders tournament ended.
Creating a story might take more time and it will most probably be around SummerSlam that there is enough depth to the story between between them for a championship reign. However, a story between the Vaudevillians and Enzo and Cass could make even more sense and could be easier to build not to mention the brilliant history and chemistry between these two teams that would make a great main roster tag team match and feud. The sad part about it all is that the Vaudevillians don't really have much to look forward too and are most likely the team to suffer the most in the long run.

I do think this can be a great tag team match this weekend. The Vaudevillians are former champions themselves and know what it takes to capture the championships and also what it takes to be champion. The are going to be under a lot of pressure on Sunday and the New day will without a doubt be their toughest challenge yet. Hopefully they are given enough time to really impress and show off what they can do and the end result no matter what makes them look strong and showcases them as brilliant wrestlers. Personally, I wouldn't mind either of these teams winning and it's hard to favour one over the other but if we take out thinking about other tag teams in the division than I have to go with the Vaudevillians as my favourite. They would benefit from this win and holding the championships for a little while but with the New Day still being so dominate and such fan favourites it's very very unlikely. As always I would love to know what you think, so feel free to leave a comment bellow letting me know what your predictions are for this match and every other match on the WWE Extreme Rules card  or tweet me at @TezangiVictoria.
