5 Potential SummerSlam Main Events

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! Today I have a pretty exciting blog post for you all, one that I have been dying to upload for a long long time and after taking my final notes I can now put it out there! It is no secret that Summer Slam is one of my favourite pay per views of all time. A card always sure to be exciting and strong (well most of the time) and one that takes place at my favourite time of the year and in my birthday month, this a pay per view that I never ever miss! As the second biggest show of the year presented by the WWE the main event is one that always rivals Wrestlemania and as proven in the past (including last year) sometimes can top the headline match at Mania. This year we have a stacked roster and with more NXT Superstars set to make the jump up to the big stage and superstars such as Seth Rollins due back from their injury this year we have a handful of phenomenal matches that could very easily main event one of the biggest shows of the year. In today's blog post we are going to be taking a look at five of the top potential SummerSlam main events inspired by you guys and posts I have already checked out online! As always I would love to know what you guys think so feel free to get involved and comment bellow or even tweet me at @TezangiVictoria telling me what match and who you would like to see headline SummerSlam twenty sixteen. As always any recent blog posts will be linked bellow so you can stay all up to day including any recent Review and Reactions post!

Triple H VS Shane McMahon
Already rumoured to be on SummerSlam card this year a battle between Shane McMahon and Triple H for ownership of Monday night RAW kick starts this very special top five. Before we get into this could be match lets take a look back at Wrestlemania season. After making his return to the WWE Shane McMahon picked a war of control with his Father and sister and made it clear that he wanted ownership of Monday night RAW pitching the idea that he knows what it takes and what needs to be done to get RAW back on track after Stephanie and husband Triple H had spent years running the show and of course the company to the ground. Later on it was announced by Vince McMahon that he would give his son the chance to earn what he wants by putting him in a Hell in a Cell match against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. A must see match with a huge stipulation mean that everyone had their own opinions and theories. Days, weeks, and months saw fans all around the world share what they believed to be the best possible outcome and with half of the WWE universe not wanting to see the Undertaker loose another Mania match and the other half desperate to see Shane pick up the win and kick start a change in the WWE fans were divided and there all different kinds of predictions popped up. Everything from Taker laying flat and taking the loss to Finn Balor debuting and playing role would surface the internet but in the end the match didn't  quite live up to expectations. Yes there were some truly spectacular spots throughout the match and Shane put up a true fight earning even more respect but a clean win for the Undertaker meant that the Authority would remain in control of Monday night RAW. Well thats what should of happened. Less than twenty four hours later and Shane McMahon was given the chance to show the world what he can do when being put in charge and after a successful show and "popular demand" Shane found himself running RAW for an entire month despite loosing at Mania. And a couple of weeks back we saw Vince announce that both Stephanie and Shane would both be running the show.

Since the announcement that both Shane and Stephanie would have equal control of Monday night RAW the siblings have been working together well. Making decisions that have worked and the rivalry between the two has meant that one upping each other has made good TV and good booking decision. But the cracks have already begun to show, with Stephanie and her nice girl act not working or staying for very long. In fact it's only a matter of time until these two clash and the fight to full control begins.  The return of Triple H is bound to get the ball rolling and heat things. Vince has already said that he wants blood and while not being literal that may just be exactly what he gets. Of course Stephanie and Shane will not battle out but what's stopping Hunter from getting in line and taking a shot at the boy wonder? Arguing that while he and Stephanie have made mistakes they have done plenty to benefit the company including Triple H's work in NXT. It wouldn't take much at all to create a story between the two hyping a one on one. The one issue the WWE do face with this is how many people will actually believe what they are being sold. Shane was never supposed to run Monday night RAW if he lost his match against Taker at Mania but he has done. How many hardcore fans are really going to believe that if Shane looses again its game over? Unless they are fighting for more. The next air to control of Monday night RAW. If Shane looses he leaves the WWE for good and gives over full control to Triple H for good!

Roman Reigns VS Finn Balor
Up next we have the first of many entrants for Finn Balor in this blog post. He may not be on the main roster just yet but this man is a man that the WWE Universe cannot stop talking about and I for sure are one of them. After making such a name for himself in NXT and becoming the guaranteed biggest name in the future of the WWE his main roster debut is much anticipated and it seems to be just around the corner. One of the favourites in the talks of this years SummerSlam main event has to be Roman Reigns VS Finn Balor. With Reigns currently feuding with AJ Styles and Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows everyone is predicting the arrival of the former NXT Champion to take place very very soon and when he does the main event championship picture is exactly where is going to want to be and exactly where the WWE are going to want to place him.

There is no doubt in my mind that Balor will reunite with his former partners Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson once called up to the main roster and there has been plenty of speculation that Balor will debut as a heel turning on Styles at a live event, that live event possibly being Extreme Rules. But once he is done with Styles or in fact done with whoever stands in his way Finn Balor will most certainly be chasing after that WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In an ideal world I personally would love to see a beat down on Styles so strong it takes him out of the picture for a while leaving Balor and Reigns to feud one on one for the championship at SummerSlam. This is a feud that seems to already be in the making and an easy favourite. With Balor spending the past year as the face of NXT and Roman Reigns the most protected and attempted face of the WWE main roster  collision between these two seems to be one that is inevitable. There is no chance in hell whether this match is set to take place at SummerSlam or elsewhere it's one that the WWE will certainly not be missing out on.

Finn Balor VS AJ Styles
My personal favourite for this years SummerSlam main event has to be AJ Styles VS Finn Balor and over the past couple of weeks I have spoke plenty about a feud between the two coming to life very very soon. Despite not getting his call up to the main roster yet  everyone is talking about Finn Balor's main roster debut and they have done for a very very long time. Throughout the past year fans have had their own speculation and predictions as to when and how the WWE would debut Balor but with former Bullet Club member's Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows now in the WWE and AJ Styles chasing after the WWE World Heavyweight Champion it has never been more likely to see Finn Balor finally debut on the main roster. Now, it is going to take some time and damn good build up to eventually get to the scene that sees Finn Balor and AJ Styles battle it out on a huge stage for the most prestigious championship in the WWE but looking at the current main story on the main roster it seems like one of the most likely booking decisions. There are plenty of options presented to the WWE in how to go about creating this must see potentially classic match and I'm going to run you through a couple right now....

A popular choice sees Balor debut at Extreme Rules to cost Styles his second championship match against Roman Reigns in a couple of weeks time. That sets up a feud between the two but if the WWE really want to keep things hot stick Roman Reigns in the storyline for a little longer and eventually have him drop the title Styles. Now, a triple threat between these three superstars is one I would pay some serious money to witness. They could even twist it around and have Balor help Styles win the championship to form a strong Bullet club in the WWE. Not wanting to win the championship that way we can start to see Styles distance himself from his former allies and eventually Balor, Gallows, and Anderson attack Styles to set up a one on one match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. These are just a couple of suggestions and trust me there are plenty! If you would like me to write a post talking about how I would like to see this match booked than leave a comment bellow or tweet me at @TezangiVictoria. Like I said, I do strongly believe that this is the most likely SummerSlam main event this year with everything set up already for the feud to kick start.

Dean Ambrose VS Roman Reigns VS Seth Rollins
A match every single WWE fan has been talking about for years has now turnt into a favourite for the SummerSlam main event twenty sixteen. For years everyone has been talking about when we will see the three former Shield members face off against one another in almighty, must see, one for the ages triple threat. With Roman Reigns as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Dean Ambrose as a hot favourite for this years Money in the bank win, and Seth Rollins due to return never has the chances of a triple threat seemed more likely. This is a match that the WWE have known fans have wanted to see for a long time yet one they have kept safe for something big and the right moment leaving us all waiting. However, with timing going on it's slowly getting to the point where we need to see this happen sooner rather than later and the perfect time for the perfect triple threat is running out. This Summer could be the Summer that sees one of the most anticipated matches in WWE history. The longer they leave this bout the less effective it will be and with all these superstars set to have all eyes on them and the spotlight laying heavy on their shoulders now really does seem perfect.

Lets say Dean Ambrose does walk out as the money in the bank winner this year (check out my Top Five Money in the bank contenders twenty sixteen, the link will be bellow). After spending years waiting for his moment to become champion Ambrose wastes no time cashing in and despite his best friend, Roman Reigns still champion, takes a moment for himself and cashes in after a beat down from Bullet Club and walks out of the pay per view the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. We could see the two go one on one at another pay per view but the night after that or even the actual night we see Seth Rollins make his huge return standing in the ring and attacking both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. I mean come on, can you imagine how epic it will be to see Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns kill each other in a main event pay per view match for it to end in DQ thanks to an interference from Seth Rollins. With Rollins demanding a championship match after never loosing it in the first place the next thew weeks are spent creating a that huge main event triple threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship making all our dreams come true.

The Shield VS Bullet Club
Ok, for our final five potential SummerSlam Main event matches we are going to have to dive deep into fantasy booking and I will be taking you on a trip into my dreams. Currently we are seeing Roman Reigns battle a fight against Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Eventually it is inevitable that Reigns will clash with Finn Balor for Championship gold and collide. We have already spoken about the possibilities of a one on one match up between the two for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship headlining the SummerSlam main event but there is also another huge match that could be on the cards. One that could top any singles main event. A six man tag team match consisting of two of the greatest factions of this generation. The Shield VS Bullet Club. Even typing and saying those words out loud gives me goosebumps and gets me very very excited. Six of the most over, must see, and talented superstars. Six superstars who will lead the future of the WWE all competing in one match up that could go down in the history books as one of the best ever.

Booking this match isn't impossible and to be fair the foundations have already been set. We have Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows already on the scene and Balor soon to make his debut as we have already touched on a million times. That sets up Bullet Club. And then we have Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns who have remained friends over the years and of course a returning Seth Rollins.
Most fans are expecting Rollins to comeback to the WWE working as a baby face and when you look at the current situation that seems very very likely. And if the WWE still are focused on getting Reigns over a top baby face putting him back in the Shield is the best possible way to get him over. There isn't a single WWE fan that would not love to see these three get back together and bring the Shield back to life one more time. In fact the conversation of reuniting the Shield is one that has never died down and now with Bullet Club being coming into the scene a rival group is the perfect reason to get these three back on side. Rollins can make it perfectly clear that he wants a future shot at the championship right from the get go but a baby face run and joining the Shield for a month would be perfect for everyone. The potential for a phenomenal match is staring the WWE right in the face. You get Gallows and Anderson to take out the Usos leaving Reigns alone and a save from Ambrose and a shock return from Rollins sets up one of the most must see and exciting matches we have seen in many many years and possibly an all time best to be produced by the WWE.

So that is my little list. Well maybe not so little. I still have plenty more matches I would love to talk about and add to the list of potential SummerSlam twenty sixteen main events, so if you would be interested in reading a part two than let me know down in the comments bellow and I will for sure get onto that. As always you can have your say and let me know what match you would like to see main event SummerSlam this year by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.
