Honest Thoughts This Weeks Smackdown LIVE Left Us With

Following another brilliant episode of Smackdown LIVE, I’m back today to discuss all the action from this past Tuesday’s must-see show. The most recent episode of Monday night RAW sure gave the blue brand a run for their money but with a strong opener, brilliant in-ring work, and several well-done segments, it’s safe to say both shows delivered this week once again! However, what exactly did we learn and what were the biggest takeaways from last nights Smackdown LIVE.

A perfect Story Saving Talent

The story between The Miz and Daniel Bryan is by far one of my favourites. I’ve mentioned before how I feel as though this is one of the best-told stories in the WWE in quite some time and this is something that just keeps getting better. It’s clear what this rivalry is also doing is pushing and helping the careers and poisons of Zelina Vega and Andrade Cien Almas but also providing true entertainment and genuinely interesting content between Bryan and Miz leaving fans worldwide wanting more!

Andrade Cien Almas vs Daniel Bryan Must Happen AGAIN

This past Tuesday, Andrade Cien Almas and Daniel Bryan stood toe to toe once again in yet another singles contest. Their second straight match up against one another fans both at home and in attendance was delighted to see the two collide for another night but come the end of their bout it was clear that there is a strong demand for more when it comes to these. By far standout stars and two amazingly talented wrestlers in the WWE today its no surprise fans want to see more from them with some fans suggesting a best of seven, an iron man match, and a story that involves deeper work between the two at a later date. Regardless, we do need to see more from Bryan and Almas as it’s so blatantly clear the pair have even more to show and bring to the table during their in-ring time together.

Hell in a Cell and A Double Turn Has Got to Happen

The rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch has honestly become one of my favourites and quite easily the standout storyline in the WWE Women’s division right now. There are of course flaws with the main clearly being the roles the two are playing within the story. Fans have always back Becky Lynch but since her attack on Flair at SummerSlam it appears her following has only grown, and fans are even more vocal regarding their support for Lynch. This week’s interview segment between the two was by far one of my favourite moments of the night but again it highlighted the feeling of Charlotte, in fact, being the heel with every point Lynch made being so amazingly accurate. It’s clear that Becky is the woman easier to back and a double turn must be done at some point.

I have to also touch on the fact that I do believe that the Women’s Championship match between Flair and Lynch should take place inside Hell in a Cell and of course, that double turn would come from Lynch showing remorse to only then have Charlotte attack her. This is something I will be talking about more in a future prediction post but both points are worth noting now!

I’m Kind of Over It…

I know there is going to be next to no one who agrees with me on this next point, but it is one I want to bring up anyway; let's talk about the AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe rivalry. Now, I want to, first of all, say that I love the personal feel of this story and the direction the WWE has taken this in, however, I do believe there are elements that have been a touch overdone and I would like to see just a little bit more. I strongly believe that their Hell in a Cell championship match will be a standout but in the build, I would like to see less of a focus on Wendy and to have a stronger focus on the personal issue with Styles. Keeping on the theme of this championship match I honestly feel as though it is time for a new champion and with such a strong story being told I believe Joe is the right man to dethrone the phenomenal one. The segment between the two this was of course very strong and entertaining!

Everyone Has A Place

If there is one thing Smackdown LIVE truly does do better than Monday night RAW it's projecting the feeling of everyone on the roster having their place. The night tied together so well it just felt as though everyone was in the right place, involved, and the full two hours were used perfectly! From the hilarious backstage segments from R-Truth and Carmella to the placement of the WWE Championship feud development on the night, all the way to how the women’s division and tag team division is used. The blue brand really is using its entire roster and while everyone may not be right at the top where they should be they are involved, and the booking makes sense making Smackdown LIVE ultimately feel just as if not more entertaining than RAW despite the weaker numbers.

Yet again, I have to say that I really enjoyed watching this week's Smackdown LIVE. The matchup between Almas and Bryan was my personal favourite of the night and a standout of the week. I loved how the show came full circle and I mentioned above, everyone had their place and we have to touch on the tag team division who really are being used well and every superstar in the division is getting their moment to shine as a team! There are things that could be changed but overall this was a solid episode of Smackdown LIVE and fans were left with plenty to discuss!
