WWE Legends We Want to See in NXT

NXT is currently jam-packed full of amazing talent. It’s names including the likes of EC3, Adam Cole, Aleister Black, and Velveteen Dream amongst many paving the way for the future of the WWE. All these superstars and many more have been a part of some excellent matches and NXT have been providing brilliant in-ring content from day one, forever raising the bar. With NXT always looking to create a bigger buzz and make an even greater impact there has been plenty of discussion regarding what NXT could pull out the bag next and with many touching on John Cena possibly working closer with the roster at some point, today we are going to be looking at five WWE Legends/future Hall of Famers who too could come down to NXT and create magic in the ring with the stars of the future.

THIS POST WAS PRE POSTED MONTHS BACK!

John Cena

We’ve mentioned him already in the intro so let’s keep on the topic of John Cena who of course must be featured today. Over the past couple of weeks, there has been great discussion revolving around the possibilities of John Cena making his way down to NXT to work closer with the stars of the future ahead of their arrival on the bigger stage (the main roster). Now, as of right now we are yet to see this come into play but it’s clear that the chances of this happening are high and Cena makes for an excellent all-time great to grace the NXT stage. Not only does his now part-time run better suit this idea but there is no one better for the job. Cena has been at the top of his game for well over a decade and eventually there will be a batch of new stars looking take that spot with Roman Reigns the current company favourite. EC3 has been amongst those to mention he would love to challenge the future Hall of Famer and I do have a blog post listing NXT stars Cena should face which will be linked below!

Chris Jericho

Talking of perfect superstars to take on the role of pushing new talent down in NXT there isn’t many who will come ahead of Chris Jericho. One of the best in the world not only in the ring but in re-inventing himself, mic/promo work, and character development, Jericho has all that is required to create top stars out of new talent. There too is a list of names we would love to see Y2J take on down in developmental including the likes of the Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, Adam Cole, and Aleister Black to name a few. Looking at the type of relationship he has with the WWE and the role in which he now plays with the company/roster it appears to be the definant correct move to see him spend a couple of months down in NXT proving excellent storylines and matches that can elevate at least one or two rising stars.

Randy Orton

I’ll be honest, it’s been a while since I last enjoyed a program that Randy Orton has been involved in. While there is no denying he is an all-time great and a for sure future hall of Famer Orton has struggled in recent years with feuds/storylines against the likes of Bray Wyatt and Jinder Mahal falling flat and not winning over the WWE universe. Looking ahead and the best option may just be for him to involve himself in the NXT roster. Now, looking at Orton’s character it wouldn’t make as much sense for him to just go down to NXT and so instead a cocky up and comers such as Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, or EC3 (who would be perfect) could call out the former World Champion for weeks and eventually we see Orton come to the black and yellow brand to face the superstar In a one-off match. He was known as the legend killer and now he himself is a legend the role as the future Killer (weird way of putting it) makes all the sense in the world.

Goldust

We’ve mentioned the Velveteen Dream plenty of times in today’s blog post already, but can you really tell me that Dream vs Goldust isn’t a must-see contest? The two have striking similarities to their characters and I’ve previously pointed out the similarities between the work we see between Goldust and The Undertaker years back and what we saw in twenty seventeen between Dream and Aleister Black. There has been plenty of discussion over the past year where fans have expressed wanting to see Goldust and the Dream either work together or work storyline/feud. Sure, to provide some entertaining content this could be exactly what Dream needs to further establish himself as one to watch and a top future talent as well as giving Goldie exactly what he needs also. Goldust hasn’t been involved in anything seriously memorable for quite some time and this could be a new career highlight further cementing the legacy of a true underrated all-time great!

 Triple H

And finally, we must touch on Triple. The Daddy of NXT (yeah, I felt just as weird typing that as you did reading it!) the future Hall of Famer has been apart of making NXT exactly what it is right now and it’s only a matter of time before we see him step in the ring someone on the roster. Now, to be fair, this may never happen. The option to keep Triple H as a backstage figure, the mastermind behind it all may just be the best option, but many do believe it’s inevitable that he will have at least one match down in NXT and in all honesty, I would love to see that happen. There are so many names on the current roster alone so many would like to see Hunter go one on one with, but the truth is, it will take one heck of a talent and one heck of a story to see this happen

And that is the list! As always I would love to know what you guys think so make sure to leave a comment below letting me know which WWE Legend you would like to see work down in NXT and with what roster member or drop me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria.
