NXT and WWE Main Roster Talents Who must Collide In the Next Year

As of right now, NXT is booming! Brand new hot signees, endless dream matches, and a stacked roster, it's an interesting time for the WWE’s developmental territory. Over on the main roster, while the weekly products may not leave the best and strongest of reviews the roster too is stacked and jam-packed full of amazing talent with bags and bags and potential. As we take a deeper look at the WWE we can see many future bouts the company just have to provide fans with but just who should collide with who and what are the best debut feuds for some of the up and coming stars?

Shayna Baszler VS Sonya Deville

Since debuting for the main roster only last year Sonya Deville has really struggled to truly make an impact. Her alliance with Mandy Rose to a certain degree makes sense and there is great potential for the two to really stand out amongst the women’s division given that they are provided with the right time and booking. With, however, it must also be mention that I do believe Deville is being held back. It is, of course, difficult for her to make as much of an impact considering there are so many female talents with a similar character but what Deville needs is a big-time storyline against a top talent who is, in fact, similar and the perfect woman for the job is, of course, Shayna Baszler. While the WWE would need to work very hard in creating originality within their storyline but its evident these two could both benefit greatly from a rivalry with one another.

Velveteen Dream vs John Cena

Okay, so I have recently written about this match in another blog post, so I will of course link that below if you haven’t seen it already, but this is for sure a clash between an all-time great and an up and comer we just have to see. The Velveteen Dream and John Cena could not be any more different from their styles to characters to background, but every single ingredient is there to make this one heck of a match. The chance to step in the ring with Cena would be huge for Dream an excellent way to debut him on the main roster introducing his character to a much wider audience but also the chance for him to prove himself to be a phenomenal in-ring relent. Not to mention, this kind of booking would put those worried hardcore fans at peace who fear he will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Tyler Breeze.

The Shield vs the Undisputed Era

Okay, so this one defiantly is more of a dream match and while it may a long time (if ever) that we see the Shield reunite once again if they were to do so than a rivalry against the Undisputed Era would simply make for perfect faction work. Factions are something the WWE continue to fail on the main roster as much as I hate to say it, but these two teams have both in their runs stood out and gone down as two of the best in a very very long time. Putting the Shield vs the Undisputed era in lights will naturally draw in a heck of a lot of fans and the match itself will most certainly be noted as a must see!

Tommaso Ciampa vs Daniel Bryan

I’ve said it a million times before, but Tommaso Ciampa has been one of my favourite pro wrestlers to watch right now for a long time and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. His heel character the former NXT Tag Team champion has been working has put him in the spotlight in a way no one saw coming! His rivalry with long-term friend Johnny Gargano has been a huge standout of the year and possibly of the decade and focusing on the future it's clear this character would work a feud against Daniel Bryan perfectly. Ciampa is the type of star Bryan needs at this stage of his career; ruthless matches him in the ring and pushes the boundaries massively. This would be an excellent way to debut Ciampa but also add more to Bryan and his career at the stage it is at right now.

Nikki Cross vs Asuka

Personally, I believe one of Asuka’s best matches and feuds of her WWE career so far has been against Nikki Cross and with the SAnitY member set to make her debut for the main roster very soon I have to say that I really do want to see these two collide once again. Their last woman standing match was a highlight of the women’s evolution and a real test for them at the time unbeatable Asuka. Upon her arrival on the main roster, Cross must show she is different, unhinged, and bringing something new to the women’s division and an intense feud relived between her and Asuka and another possible last woman standing match would be perfect.

Aleister Black vs Randy Orton

And finally, while it too may be another big dream match, seeing this new side to Randy Orton in recent weeks makes me want to see this match take place even more and of course, it does now seem far more realistic. The dark, sadistic, intense version of Randy Orton is the version we all love the best and with Aleister Black possessing very similar qualities yet with an interesting and different twist a match and big-time story between them makes for yet another must see and a true passing of the torch/highlight of a new era moment.

And those are just six of many matches I could have spoken about today! As always I would love to know your thoughts so feel free to leave a comment below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria.
