Six Current Roster Teams Who Could Win Women's Tag Team Titles At Elimination Chamber

Back in December Vince McMahon announced that the WWE will be introducing women’s tag team championships, an announcement fans had been waiting a very long time to hear! In a recent episode of Monday night RAW Alexa Bliss on an edition of “A moment of Bliss” went on to reveal that in five weeks’ time three teams from RAW and three teams from Smackdown LIVE will compete inside the Elimination Chamber with the winner going on to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. In today’s blog post we are going to be looking at some of the names we could see compete in this match and their chances of walking out the victors.

 The IIconics

Looking at the current women’s division there really is one team who standouts far greater than any other in a discussion regarding the women’s tag team titles and those names are of course Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. The Australian duo has stood alongside each other throughout the course of their WWE careers and from the get-go, fans have speculated the pair would go on to become the first tag team champion within the division. With months of struggling to really make an impact and gain some momentum, The IIconics have finally been given a huge opportunity and one we have all deemed inevitable. Heading into the Elimination Chamber match and the build to this historic contest, Billie and Peyton are huge favourites as they currently represent exactly what these titles are about.

Nia Jax and Tamina

I have been super happy to see Tamina finally given something that really works and shows potential for something big to happen in her career and that something may just be the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. The alliance between Tamina and Nia Jax is extremely dominant, and the pair sit as the most dominant tag team in the women’s division making them huge favourites in the build to this matchup. The pair has momentum, heat, and the size advantage to just that. Jax is far from finding herself back in the Women’s championship scene again and Tamina is finally in the position for a big role and a push making the idea of crowning these two dominant female superstars as tag team champions very much likely and makes a great deal of sense.

Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville

While their relationship has been pretty up and down over the past year, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville could very easily go on to compete inside the Elimination Chamber (they're second in fact) and go on to make history by walking out champions. They may not be the strongest team on today’s list considering their up and down relationship, however, their chemistry, momentum, and popularity right now sets them up for a potentially exciting and successful title reign that could so easily see them do more in their singles careers down the line. The WWE has paid a lot of attention to Mandy in particular in recent weeks and Sonya Deville has been highlighted by many fans as one of the rising stars in the women’s division possessing plenty of potential. Holding these titles could give these two the boost they need allowing them to head into the directions in their singles career the WWE sees them heading in.

The Riott Squad

My personal favourite team to not only compete in this Elimination Chamber matchup but walk out the winners and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions is the Riott Squad. Since their arrival on the main roster, the trio has remained extremely strong only going from strength to strength. Their chemistry has skyrocketed, the three work amazingly well together, and despite not getting as many opportunities as they deserve to show what they can do in the ring what we have seen has been impressive and shown all three have great potential. With so much consistency and potential, it’s about time the WWE push the go button with the Riott Squad and give them the push they desperately need and deserve. Out of everyone on today’s list, it's these women most in need of the win, most deserving and who could bring the most to the titles. They bring something totally unique and interesting to the women’s titles and can truly raise the bar not to mention this is exactly what they are in need of with a loss here potentially being very damaging to the career of all three.

Naomi & Lana

Okay, so if I’m being totally honest, this is the team I’m least expecting to see actually compete in this up and coming Elimination Chamber match and go on to become champion however, when looking at the current women’s division as I’m writing this and picking out a team for the blue brand it’s the duo consisting of Lana and Naomi I can potentially see booked in given a place in this historic matchup. We have seen work between the two women in the past and we know for a fact they work well together and have solid chemistry not to mention with both women having a huge amount of popularity it would make sense to see them picked out as one of the teams for the blue brand come February.

Sasha Banks and Bayley

And finally, we have the team of Sasha Banks and Bayley. Keeping in mind the RAW Women’s division is very strong right now and there are several names the WWE could put together it’s the team of Banks and Bayley I believe not only will find a place in this match but in fact, go on to become champions and make history. The history, the chemistry, the popularity, and the potential storyline’s these two can bring to the division means the best friends make for the perfect team to walk out champions. Now, these girls are not my personal favourite for the win but considering Sasha and Bayley vs Lita and Trish was a heavily rumoured women’s tag team match for Mania and all the work we have seen between the two including the WWE deciding not to go ahead with their rivalry completely. This does, of course, create the perfect opening for that heavily anticipated feud between the two.

And those are the names/teams I believe will compete and potentially win the Elimination Chamber next month and become the first WWE Women’s Tag Team champions but who will you put on the list? Let me know down in the comments below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria.
