Brand Switches That Must Happen in 2019

I have spent a lot of time discussing what I believe should happen over the course of the next twelve months, however, addressing the brand switches we need to see in twenty nineteen I’ve yet sat and gone into, until today. Taking five current main roster stars I’m going to be looking at why I believe they must switch brands this year and what the switch can do for them and their careers moving forward. With loads to discuss let’s not waste any more time and jump right into it!

Finn Balor To Smackdown LIVE

The man who inspired today’s blog post is up first, Finn Balor. Since returning from his shoulder injury a couple of years back things haven’t been quite plain sailing for the former NXT Champion. Once dubbed as the next big thing In the WWE upon his huge signing with the company many expected him to lead the way for a new era in World Wrestling Entertainment, but the Irish star is yet to bounce back from the major injury. Failing to enter back into the Universal Championship picture successfully and poor booking Balor has little opportunity to compete in memorable bouts and added to gripping storylines. With things going nowhere but south the best and almost only option left is to move him over to the blue brand. The fresh start will enable Balor to explore new options from joining a faction to challenging new names to getting involved in the WWE Championship scene.

Sasha Banks to Smackdown LIVE

I’ve mentioned for a while now that if tag team titles are to be introduced than remaining on RAW to go on to make history and become the first champions alongside Bayley is vital and a must move! However, another must move for the Boss is the transition from RAW to Smackdown LIVE. The blue brand has arguably been the better home for Banks from the moment the brand split was re-introduced and after a solid of year of weak booking, stale character work, and forgettable rivalries the WWE are stuck in a situation where they can carry on at this rate and destroy all her momentum and star quality or move her over the Smackdown LIVE and give her the chance to shine on a level that will allow her to reach the heights Becky Lynch has reached in recent months. It’s here she will get more of a chance to complete in better and longer matches, new rivalries that are much needed, and a position she has been worthy of from day one.

AJ Styles To RAW

Another top superstar who must make the move this year is AJ Styles. Now, I, of course, would love to see Styles and Balor clash on Tuesday nights and there is a part of me that will forever believe he is the glue the blue brand needs, however, the truth of the matter is that Smackdown LIVE can indeed run without the phenomenal one. We need a new star to take the position at the top Styles has dominated in recent years and that can’t be done with Styles still there. Moving over to RAW will enable AJ to finally get his hands on the Universal Championship at some point along with collisions in the ring with names including Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and more! The phenomenal one has pretty much done all he can do over on Smackdown LIVE and a new start and a new direction is something he massively would benefit from in the new year not to mention Monday nights could seriously do with a name to help boost their ratings and Styles may just be the answer to that.

The Revival To Smackdown LIVE

If I’m being totally honest, I don’t believe The Revival will, in fact, move to Smackdown LIVE in twenty nineteen, however, they are arguably the superstars I’m most rooting for in terms of the switch. Since arriving on the main roster, the two just haven’t been used half as well as they should have been and what we expected. After a dominant run in NXT which saw them hold the NXT Tag team titles twice along with an array of matches that showed them to be one of the best tag teams in the world today and a part of a movement in the division that doesn’t get spoken about enough! With all that to their name, anyone would have expected much more. In twenty nineteen I really do want to see things turn around for Dash and Dawson and the fact is, the tag team division is used a whole lot better on Smackdown LIVE. Over on the blue brand, the division has far more exposer, better storylines, ring time, and chance to steal the show weekly and on PPV. It’s here they will have greater opportunities not to mention collisions with the likes of the Usos, Sanity, and the New DAY.

Braun Strowman To RAW

And finally, the last superstar I want to talk about Is of course, Braun Strowman. Now, Strowman has a very interesting and important year ahead of him. He will either finally have the huge success he has been worthy of for a long time or fall at a great height. Twenty eighteen most certainly should of and could have been a much stronger year for Braun and should have seen him take home the Universal Championship and winning a major title is something I desperately want to see and that may only happen of Strowman moved to Smackdown LIVE. He is slowly but surely running out of lives on Monday night RAW and the move to Smackdown will allow him to not only come face to face with exciting new rivals including Orton, Mysterio, and Bryan but he is far more likely to find championship success on the blue brand. Not to mention Smackdown could massively do with a big star taking on the role of the monster on Tuesday nights, he’s the type of superstar the roster most certainly needs.
