Five Things That Must Happen in the WWE This Year

Happy New Year everyone! We have officially kick-started twenty nineteen and I could not be any more excited about the next twelve months ahead in the world of professional wrestling! Throughout the first month of the new year I’m going to be exploring some of the storyline’s we can expect and like to see, the superstars to watch, predicting future champions and plenty more and in today’s blog post we are going to be kick-starting this mini-series by taking an in-depth look at some of the most important and demanded things that could and more importantly should take place in two thousand and nineteen. We have plenty to get through today so grab a drink, get comfy, and let’s dive right into things!

THIS POST WAS PRE POSTED IN DECEMBER BEFORE CERTAIN ANNOUNCEMENTS

EC3 Is Called Up to the Main Roster at the Royal Rumble

Keeping on the theme of things we thought were going to happen in twenty eighteen, but didn’t we have to address the main roster call up for EC3. After making a huge comeback to the WWE many were expecting a dominant year for the former Impact Star with a huge push on the horizon however, concussions and setbacks meant there was a slightly different path for EC3 in two thousand and eighteen, however, with the new year now here he is one of the biggest talking points right now with many adding him to the list of favourites in terms of NXT stars who must be called up in twenty nineteen. The Royal Rumble is of course upon us and what better way for the top one per cent to make an arrival on the main shows.

Sasha Banks and Bayley Split

Both Sasha Banks and Bayley had a weak twenty eighteen. Both women were not used to their full potential, had a lack of chances to truly show what they can do in the ring, and their relationship was poorly showcased on WWE TV. The company have had plenty of time and opportunities to create a gripping rivalry between these two women and while they haven’t grabbed those opportunities yet it’s vital that twenty nineteen sees the fall of this friendship and the much-anticipated feud takes place. Crowning the pair as the first Women’s tag team champions is the best way the WWE could truly kick-start this rivalry with the Boss turning on Bayley later in the year stepping into the role she plays best, the bad guy. Turning Sasha heel and pressing play on this feud is massively important and key In turning the main roster careers of these women around.

The Fall of Brock Lesnar

I've mentioned plenty of times before that I haven't been the biggest fan of the decision to crown Brock Lesnar the Universal Champion again during the fall of twenty eighteen. The RAW roster is currently jam-packed full of amazing talents all of which are more than worthy of a championship reign and in twenty nineteen I strongly believe it's time fans witnessed Lesnar move aside, drop the title and allow a new beast to be established. This has got to be the year we see a part-timer hold the universal championship for the sake of Monday night RAW, the title, and the careers of the deserving superstars on the roster.

The Miz Becomes WWE Champion

Okay, so this one may be a touch on the personal side, but I just had to include it. The Miz has been a strong favourite of mine and many other members of the WWE universe for a number of years now, creating a huge buzz and becoming one of the biggest fan favourites in the WWE today. Competing in standout matches against the likes of Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins as well as gripping promos that have changed the game, the Miz has proven to be worthy of being champion including WWE Champion. There are several different directions the WWE could take the Miz in this year including a singles bout against Shane McMahon at Mania which in my personal opinion is the worse move they could make while on the flip side the best thing they can do is put him right at the top, take a risk, and put the WWE championship on him in a move that would go down massively well with fans.

Nikki Cross Joins Sanity Full Time

I’ve personally been damn frustrated with how poorly used Sanity has been used over the past year. Making such a big impact during their time in NXT I was most certainly expecting to see a better run for them upon their arrival on Smackdown LIVE and been left disappointed with what we have seen. In two thousand and nineteen, I believe it’s important the blue brand's tag team division is explored more with Sanity being the first pick in pushing a new team. With that, it’s also important Nikki Cross finally joins the Smackdown LIVE roster full time. We’ve seen her work live events with the division and make one single appearance on a LIVE episode, but the next twelve months must see these four stars rise to the top and really create something fresh and exciting on Tuesday nights.

The Women Main Event Wrestlemania

Two thousand and eighteen saw plenty more history made within the WWE women’s division with more first evers taking place than ever before including the first ever all women’s pay per view. The female talent within the WWE has come incredibly far yet there is one huge milestone they still await to be given the chance to reach; main eventing Wrestlemania. More than ever before there are legitimate matches fans want to see main event the grandest stage of them all coming from the women’s division with Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey toping that list. With the WWE universe hugely disappointed that this bout didn’t take place last November there is still a strong demand for what is one of the most anticipated and requested matches today and with such a buzz around the one on one contest this may be the biggest and most legitimate chance the WWE has at allowing their female talent to main event the biggest event of the year.

And that is my little list! I do also have a part two coming up on a different site so make sure to keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks but for now you can let me know what you thought and what you want to see happen in the WWE this year by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.
