Five Bold WWE Women's Division Predictions
Women’s wrestling in the WWE truly has come so far in recent
years. Fans have witnessed countless historic moments that have led to female
talent in the company appearing almost as equal as their male peers. Looking
ahead, there is, of course, work to be done in terms of longer bouts and
character development as well as storyline quality but what can fans expect to
see from the WWE Women’s division in the months coming up. From heel turns to
title changes, today’s blog post will look at future angles the WWE Universe
could bear witness to in terms of the women’s division.
Sasha Banks Returns and Challenges Becky Lynch
For a couple of months now, Sasha Banks has found herself involved
in huge controversial conversation regarding her current situation in the WWE.
Now, regardless of all the rumours, a strong one amongst many suggest the Boss
could make a huge return to action very soon sporting a heel turn and
challenging the man, Becky Lynch. With former tag team partner Bayley now apart
of the Smackdown LIVE roster the pair are evidently set to work as singles
stars moving forward and becoming the face of the RAW women’s division appears
to be the clear next direction for Banks. Now, there is, of course, amazing
history between Sasha and Lynch and a rivalry between the two today is both
massively anticipated and sure to go down treat! A heel Banks has always been best
for business and with Lynch sitting at the very top of the company this is
something the WWE must go ahead with and book!
Tegan Nox Becomes the Face of the NXT UK Women’s division
It’s safe to say Tegan Nox hasn’t had the best of luck in
her career over the past couple of years. With back to back injuries setting
her back massively, the young Welsh star has had a tough journey and story to
tell. This is a woman the WWE have rumoured to be very high on and while
injuries have meant fans haven’t seen a fraction of what she is capable of, her
future still appears to be very bright. With a story involving Rhea Ripley
awaiting her upon returning to the ring, fans can expect to see Knox make a
huge impact over on the NXT UK brand. Collisions with the likes of Toni Storm, Kay
Lee Ray and Piper Niven making for dream matches I’m confident that upon her
return to action Tegan Nox will take over the NXT UK women’s division and fans
will finally see what she is capable of.
Tamina and Naomi Set Their Sights on Tag Team Gold
Okay so this one may be a tad bit obvious but after a backstage
segment on last weeks episode of Monday night RAW showed the two back on each
other’s side one can only speculate that tag team opportunities await them.
Both women are currently in need of something strong and with no other clear
direction, this is the best option for the pair. Of course, Naomi and Tamina
both bring something completely new to the table but with Naomi’s athletic skill
and the dominance and power of Tamina, this is a team with serious potential!
Kay Lee Ray introduced Hardcore Wrestling to the Women’s Division
One of the most exciting stars over in the WWE Women’s
division today is, of course, Kay Lee Ray. Already making an impact on the NXT UK
brand as well as the worlds collide shows, the former ICW Women’s champion is
proving she is a talent to keep a very close eye on! Now, the WWE is yet to
throw Ray into the women’s title picture but considering a collision with Toni
Storm makes for the stuff of dreams its almost inevitable the two will meet in
the ring potentially for gold very soon. However, what truly makes Kay Lee Ray
such a unique star and standout amongst the women’s division is her history in
hardcore competition. Now, while we have seen female talent in recent years
work bout including the likes of Hell in a Cell, Steel Cage, and last woman
standing matches a Queen of hardcore is yet to be established and Ray has the
potential to introduce something very new to the women’s division. The edge she
possesses is something we haven’t seen yet in terms of women’s wrestling in the
WWE and I truly hope the WWE eventually explore this angle.
Asuka Turns on Kairi Sane
The team of Asuka and Kairi Sane honestly is something I
personally haven’t jumped on board with. In an attempt to create the same
effect Sane and Io Shariri worked over in NXT the WWE have failed to make the
same impact here and the alliance has taken a great deal away from Asuka. Now,
while I see tag team gold in their future and many more months working
alongside one another, I would love to see Asuka eventually turn on Sane setting
up a rivalry/angle with far more potential. Exploring a heel Asuka is something
the WWE could have and should have explored months ago but here the set up is
perfect! Sane makes for an excellent babyface and telling the story of her
being betrayed by her tag team partner promises strong storytelling and huge
must-see matches with massive potential.
And those are just some of the potential storyline’s and
angles I would love to see the WWE look into in terms of the WWE women’s
division. As always you can let me know what you thought of today’s blog post
