Huge Must See WWE Matches We Could See This Year
As we reach the halfway point of the year it's clear we have
already witnessed some epic dream encounters over in the WWE. Tyler Breeze vs Velveteen
Dream, Pete Dunne vs WALTER, Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles and Becky Lynch vs
Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey to name just a few! However, despite all those awesome
bouts taking place there are still so many collisions fans want and can expect
to see take place before the end of the year and today we are going to be
looking at just five!
Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler
Becky Lynch’s reign as RAW women’s champion and her rivalry with
Ronda Rousey has set up so many must-see collisions for the man in the coming
months. With her reign as champion continuing its time to look at future
challengers and no name stands out quite as much as current NXT Women’s
champion, Shayna Baszler. The two-time NXT women’s champ, of course, has a very
public friendship with Rousey and their alliance within the four horsewomen ensure
it's likely the pair will work together up on the main roster, however, before
then fans could very well witness Baszler first collide with Lynch before any
other on the main roster. Looking to take out the women who dethroned her
friend and ally there is an excellent story to be told here with the question of
whether Baszler can do what Rousey couldn’t arise. There is every bit of
potential for this collision to make for an epic matchup and could very easily
be the next stage in getting closer to the four horsewomen vs four horsewomen
match up we have all been waiting for.
Aleister Black vs Finn Balor
With Aleister Black still yet to make his full debut for
Smackdown LIVE many are still speculating what will await the former NXT star
on the black and gold brand and as we have spoken about before here on my blog,
there really are so many options and dream contest. Colliding with Finn Balor
makes for a matchup no wrestling fan will want to miss out on especially when
we focus in on the Demon Balor angle. A one on one contest here ensures both men
will have an excellent showing in the ring with their shared phenomenal
wrestling ability sure to be on show better than ever. This also makes for a
great new character direction for Black exploring the role of a heel for the
first time in his WWE journey not to mention the creative storyline, promos and
title changes we could see from this rivalry.
Undisputed Era vs Imperium
While factions may be an area the WWE is failing with over
on the main roster NXT and NXT UK are shining bright in this area thanks to the
Undisputed Era and recently formed Imperium showing the world how factions
should be done! Both these teams have dominated their respected brands with leaders
on each side holding championship gold. Moving forward, a collision between
these two teams really does make for something truly must see! While they have
their clear differences both teams are seriously over, dominating their roster
and massively spoken about. It’s a clear a match between these teams will result
in an epic contest that could so easily go down as one of the best matches of
the entire year especially if this match was to take place inside War Games
later this year!
Kay Lee Ray vs Toni Storm
Keeping on the theme of NXT we move over to NXT UK and its women’s division and with the roster, growing competition is also growing
more and more for current women’s champion, Toni Storm. With that being said
there are several women who could dethrone the current title holder but a
favourite of mine is former ICW Women’s champion, Kay Lee Ray. Still, rather new
into her WWE career, Ray has already been making an impact across the women’s
division and its clear she could very well be on her way to a title shot if she
continues to keep up this momentum. Challenging Storm is a contest I would love
to see Ray walking out the victor but while that is something that is stage is
only a maybe in terms of likelihood the match itself is most certainly a must
see. Here we have two of the most popular women on the UK Women’s wrestling
scene and they have every bit of potential to tear the house down and work the
standout women’s match of the year! Expect an intense collision full of risky
spots, epic wrestling and strong quality action when these two go face to face.
Drew McIntyre vs Shane McMahon
Whether or not we see Shane McMahon go onto becoming Universal
Champion or not we can surely expect to see him go one on one with Drew McIntyre in
the near future. The two have recently formed an alliance that smells of
McIntyre eventually turning on McMahon possibly with Vince in his corner. Crowning
Shane universal/WWE Champion will, of course, make for a controversial move, but
it opens doors for McIntyre to step up and finally become champion himself. Now,
the story here really does write itself and I have already spoken about what I
would like to see go down between these two-storyline wise and I will link some
of those previous post below! This match may not go down as a standout of the
year like many we have spoken about today, but it has potential to be one of
the best storylines we have spoken about!
Of course, there are so many more matches I could have
spoken about today but I’m very happy with this little list! As always I would
love to know what you guys think so feel free to leave a comment below or tweet
me over at @TezangiVictoria telling me what matches you want to see take place
this year.
