Shocking and Exciting Storylines That Could Be Coming Up in the WWE

With such a stacked roster today in the WWE there are so many amazing potential creative storylines and rivalries that could take place whether it be on RAW, Smackdown LIVE, NXT or 205LIVE; however, we all know that the WWE often surprise fans with angles nobody saw coming leaving audiences divided. In today’s blog post we are going to be looking at five potential shocking storylines and booking decisions the WWE could go ahead within the coming months, some we may love and some that could result in a huge negative backlash.

Sasha Banks Dethrones Becky Lynch

A rivalry I am almost certain will, in fact, take place in the coming months is Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch. It’s been a couple of months now since we last saw the Boss competing inside a WWE ring but with her return likely to happen very soon its time to start looking at the potential angles we could see her take part in and nothing appears to be quite as fitting than the two former NXT stars colliding on the main stage. During their time on the black and gold brand Banks and Lynch competed in a standout contest at a Takeover event and there really is so much history between the two. Upon her return, its vital Sasha makes a huge impact and the WWE finally go ahead with the big heel run we have all been waiting for, taking out the man, attacking the champ and taking her title is the perfect way to achieve all of the above.

Shane McMahon Becomes Universal Champion

While the idea of crowning Shane McMahon Universal Champion is sure to divide fans and cause a little outrage it's an idea that isn’t far fetched at all and one becoming a bigger talking point as the weeks go by. For months now we have seen Shane pick up several big victories including defeating Roman Reigns and the Miz, taken part in standout PPV matches and found an alliance in the form of Drew McIntyre. Booking has been strong and character development has been fantastic. McMahon has genuinely gotten under the skin of fans and become one of the biggest yet consistent faces on both RAW and Smackdown LIVE. With so much momentum and power on his side, it appears as though it really is only a matter of time till we see Shane challenge Rollins and possibly even walk away the new WWE Champion. Now, bear with me, this idea may not be as bad as it appears. Putting the Universal Championship around the waist of McMahon opens the doors for McIntyre to turn on him, create an alliance with Vince McMahon and take the title for himself come the end of the year.

Brock Lesnar Cashes in on Kofi Kingston

Just like the rest of the world, I have been loving the WWE Championship reign of Kofi Kingston and I’m most certainly not ready for it to come to an end just yet, however, with Brock Lesnar and the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging around it appears as though there could be an end to these brighter days on Smackdown LIVE. While many believe its Rollins Lesnar will cash in on, the fresh angle that sees the beast collide with Kingston makes for an excellent and gripping story. The two superstars couldn’t be more different if they tried from their image to their journeys in the WWE. Lesnar and Heymans goal to destroy all that Kingston has achieved promises to be a great story with so much potential to really grip and entertain fans. Not to mention it’s a completely new angle for both stars especially Lesnar and sure to help make major changes for Smackdown LIVE’s ratings.

Sasha Banks vs Bayley

While we have already mentioned that Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch may be one of the best directions for Banks upon her return to the WWE however, it’s clear that storyline wise there is one other angle the WWE most certainly should consider for the Boss. Fans have been waiting to see a full-on rivalry between Banks and Bayley up on the main roster for years now and despite perfect opportunities arising the WWE have failed to go ahead with a seriously anticipated and demanded rivalry. With the Boss taking time away from the ring and in the meantime, Bayley going at it alone and becoming the new Smackdown LIVE Women’s champion the doors of opportunity have once again opened. There is a perfect angle here that has been created and the story really does write itself. Bayley has completely focused on herself and failed to mention her former tag team partner, a frustrated Banks returning and taking out Bayley to eventually go on to become champion sets up the scenario fans have been calling for.
