Why Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross Alliance is Perfect For Both Women

In recent weeks fans have witnessed a growing friendship between Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross over on Monday night RAW and with the pair so massively popular amongst the WWE Universe there are many reasons to be excited about this brand-new alliance. The strikingly two different characters are evidently sure to work together in the months ahead but just why should you be excited and what possible angles could await these two women?

A New Direction for Alexa Bliss

In recent years Alexa Bliss has undoubtedly become one of most popular superstars in the WWE today standing out as one of the best competitors in the women’s division today. The five-time champion has achieved so much already including the title of Miss Money in the Bank and going down as one of the strongest heels in the company right now. Her new allegiance, however, introduces Bliss to a completely new direction. We have seen Alexa stand alongside multiple female superstars including the likes of Alicia Fox, Mickie James and Nia Jax however, the babyface angle is fresh for Alexa, teaming her with a superstar who comes across more insane than any other opens up the chance to see a darker side to Bliss, a new area of her character and explore what happens when Little Miss Bliss is truly let loose.

Tag Team Championship Reign

Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen both Nikki and Alexa air problems with the current Women’s tag team champions, The IIConics. Tensions have been growing between the two sides and fans have begun to predict that a collision between the women is sure to go down this time for tag team gold. A reign with the titles would come as a surprise and a new direction for both women but opens so many creative doors. At the moment, this does appear to be the most obvious angle the WWE are setting up for Cross and Bliss and the title reign will evidently benefit both women. For Alexa, it gives her another run as champion while for Cross it’s a brilliant way to give her her first run with a title in the WWE in a very creative and entertaining manner.

 The Exposer Nikki Cross Needs

While I didn’t see this pairing coming nor was I massively positive about the creative angle at first, it’s clear this alliance is perfect from the up and coming Nikki Cross. Despite her popularity amongst NXT fans and her character catching on quick with the WWE universe she still needs that edge, exposer and deeper connection with fans, pairing her with one of the most over talents in the women’s division makes for something very special that allows all of that to happen. Wherever Alexa goes WWE fans have an interest and aligning Cross with the former champion gives her the chance to grow in popularity and work storylines at a level other newcomers may not receive for much longer into their career.

Nikki’s Obsession

While many including myself have previously entertained the idea of the WWE including Mickie James in an “obsession with Alexa Bliss” angle the former champ’s brand new alliance with Nikki Cross opens the doors for the WWE to explore and even darker version of this angle, however, this time involving the former NXT and Sanity star. With Nikki expressing she feels lonely and struggling to get noticed in the WWE a story that focuses on Nikki becoming obsessed with the attention Bliss is giving her meaning that in the weeks to follow we see Nikki willing to do anything for her new best friend. However, what we know from history is Bliss doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to keeping those friendships and with Alexa growing bored of Cross in time, we begin to see that dark, intense, crazy side of Nikki come out stronger than ever before. Becoming more dangerous and obsessed than we have ever seen her. There are so many creative options here!

And as we touched on earlier, Alexa’s new alliance with Nikki Cross opens up so many new creative opportunities for the former five-time champion. We know Alexa has a dark and ruthless side but in pairing with Nikki Cross we really do have a chance to see the WWE push that side of her character even more. With segments showing Nikki encouraging that darker side of Bliss, encouraging her to let loose at the right time. This, of course, is something completely new for Alexa but again its something that really does open so many new opportunities and ties in with what I about discuss next!

Nikki’s Little Secret

And finally, how can the WWE make this alliance grow? How can there be depth and something darker and more entertaining? Well, let's welcome Bray Wyatt into the picture. Now, everyone and their mother has been discussing a possible pairing between Nikki and Bray before Nikki had even made her way onto the main roster! With Wyatt sporting a brand new direction with a  twist I know I would love to see the WWE work on an angle that sees Cross secretly recruiting Alexa and training her for something…more, joining Bray Wyatt. Testing to see just how far Alexa will go, how twisted little Miss Bliss can really get and slowly creating a situation that sees the two women join Wyatt in a completely new set up that sees an army of followers.

While there are so many setups the WWE can create from this alliance and I’m defiantly very excited to see what will happen moving forward!
