Superstars Who Need a Good Showing at SummerSlam 2019

With the biggest party of the Summer taking place this weekend in Canada, fans are most certainly excited for the twenty nineteen addition of SummerSlam. As one of the biggest events of the year, it's an important night full of great opportunities and this time around there are several superstars sure to benefit from a standout performance but just who is in need of it the most?

Ember Moon

In a dream world, I would love to see Ember Moon walk out of SummerSlam as the new Smackdown LIVE Women’s champion. The former NXT star has been waiting for her perfect opportunity for far too long and fans have been looking to see her finally receive her big push and finally at appears as though Moon is getting the spotlight, she more than deserves. While I admit that I haven’t been completely hooked on the story/build to Embers title bout against Bayley there is great potential here for this to be a great match up! While it’s unlikely we will see a title change this time around its vital Moon has a standout performance this weekends and proves there is no denying she is a future champion. 

Bray Wyatt

SummerSlam is a huge night for Bray Wyatt this year. His first match back this is the chance for him to show the world what the new version of himself and his character are all about. He needs to present himself as a dominant and entertaining in-ring performer and from his past we know that Wyatt is an incredibly talented pro wrestler; taking on Balor gives him the perfectly opportunity to prove exactly that. A loss here isn’t an option and while it’s unlikely the WWE would book him to lose the company’s history with Wyatt has never been all too strong; SummerSlam twenty nineteen marks the start of a completely new beginning for Bray.

Natalya

While it’s extremely unlikely Natalya will walk out of SummerSlam twenty nineteen your new RAW Women’s Champion the storyline and build to this match has surprisingly been pretty strong and entertaining. There has been a feel of reality running throughout the angle between Nattie and Lynch and things have grown more intense as the weeks have gone by. This is an important contest for Natalya and considering SummerSlam is taking place in her home of Canada it makes all the sense in the world for her to work an epic matchup against the man. The pair have a similar style in the ring and Nattie makes for a new kind of opponent for Lynch. There is all the potential in the world for this match to make for a great encounter and despite the end result It will go down as both important and heart-warming to witness Natalya work a genuine standout match up.  

Ricochet

Ricochet truly has been booked well in recent months! From solid in-ring performances, a run as US champion and a rivalry with AJ Styles, the former NXT star is making an impact. While the WWE most certainly could have and should have done more with his title reign the company have been smart with how they have used him and to date he hasn’t worked a single weak contest against Styles. Heading into what is sure to be the final chapter in the Ricochet/Styles rivalry fans can expect yet another epic encounter and with things uncertain for Ricochet and the coming few months it's vital he at least has a strong showing. A lengthy encounter that tops what we have already seen is sure to at least go down well and work in his favour moving forward. 

Sami Zayn

One of the matches I am most looking forward to this weekend is the singles bout between Sami Zayn and Aleister Black. Now, this truly is a dream match with both men considered two of the best in-ring performers on the scene today. Sure, to be a standout of the night many are expecting Black to walk out the victor however, it's important that Zayn has a strong showing this weekend! Since his call up to the main roster, the WWE hasn’t used Sami the way they should have, and he has gone massively underutilised, however. Taking on Black this weekend will give Zayn the chance to work a huge matchup that shows his abilities to there very best. Regardless of whether or not he gets the win, the strong performance will be enough to turn heads and start a conversation regarding a push.
