Five Underrated and Underutlised Female WWE Superstars Today

Over the last few years, Wrestling fans truly have bear witnessed to an evolution in the world of women’s wrestling. The current WWE Women’s division is more stacked than ever before, and we are forever seeing female talent not only standout but steal the show. With that being said, however, there are several women most certainly going underrated and underutilised and in today's blog post we are going to be focusing on some of those female talents.

Isla Dawn

Throughout today's blog post we are going to be looking at several female stars of the NXT UK roster and the first of the bunch is of course Isla Dawn. Now, I’ll be honest, before her arrival in the WWE I wasn’t all too familiar with Isla’s work, however, throughout the past few months its become clear Dawn is a vital part of the NXT UK Women’s division working brilliant bouts against the likes of Kay Lee Ray, Jinny and Rhea Ripley however, with all these names appearing to receive the bigger push and clearly more popular amongst fans, Dawn has struggled to gain fan attention, popularity and momentum. Each performance has been strong from Isla with her experience and brilliant wrestling ability clearly on show, however, her key issue has been the booking of other female talents on the roster who have taken a great deal of the spotlight. Isla is a very smart and interesting wrestling with an entertaining character, so I truly do hope we get to see more of her soon!

Ruby Riott

Another huge name the WWE have been failing massively among the women’s division is Ruby Riott. Upon signing with the company Riott had spent many years working the indies scene and building a name and reputation for herself. Anyone aware of her work prior to the WWE will most certainly know that Riott has been underutilised since her arrival and it really is a shame. Riott’s striking look allows her to stand out amongst the division but it's vital the WWE finally give her more in ring time giving her the chance to show just how exciting of an in-ring performer she really is and while being apart of the Riott Squad may have held her back she now has a chance to make an impact as a singles star and kick start the career she truly deserves. It must also be noted that the WWE truly did waste many opportunities with the Riott Squad which could have changed her position on the roster today completely!

Sarah Logan

Speaking of the Riott Squad, arguably the quietest and forgotten about member of the team, Sarah Logan is up next in today’s blog post. Now, I have spoken about Logan here on my blog several times before highlighting just how underrated she really is and looking back at her career prior to the WWE. Ahead of signing, Logan had worked as Crazy Mary Dobson across the indie’s scene working and competing for promotions across the globe including hardcore bouts over in ICW. Dobson stood out for her strong character work and entertaining wrestling bouts, however, since arriving in the WWE Logan hasn’t been given the chance to show fans her skill at this level and instead has become extremely forgettable. There were of course so many options in terms of how to book Sarah in a fun and creative way that would grab fan attention but the lack of focus on her by the company has been massively damaging and will be very difficult to turn around. If you are unfamiliar with Logan’s work prior to the WWE I most certainly advise that you check it out.

Ember Moon

Unlike some of the names we have and will be talking about today, Ember Moon is most certainly considered popular amongst the WWE Universe. Her run over in NXT as well as her performances in battle Royals and singles bouts have left fans wanting to see more of her and hope for a big push to be on the horizon, however, it appears to be a push fans will be waiting a long time for! Moon has had the chance to steal the spotlight and she has taken it and the WWE Universe have shown this is a woman they are pulling for but again the lack of exposer and seeing so many other women given the spotlight has left Moon struggling for a while now! Ember is hands down one of the most athletic and gifted in-ring performers in the division today and moving forward the best thing the WWE can do for and with her is give Ember the time to show what she can do. Put her in the ring with women she can work huge matches with such as Charlotte Flair and give her longer in-ring time and it's clear she will make a huge impact with potential to become a major talent amongst the division and future champion.

Aliyah

And the final name I want to talk about today is Aliyah. The youngest woman on this list today, Aliyah is an NXT Star fans are still not talking about very much at all, however, her recent alliance with Venessa Borne has opened up new opportunities and set her off on a path with great potential. For years now, the WWE has been trying out different things for Aliyah including several character changes and finally, it appears as though the company may be onto something that works. Now, in all fairness, it is hard to judge Aliyah simply because we haven’t seen much of her at all but I have to admit that what I have seen of her over the years has actually impressed me. She may not be the best wrestler in the world but it's clear she has great form, strong and impressive delivery and the years she has spent in developmental have left her really understanding how things work. There is still so much left to see of Aliyah and I really do believe that the more we see of her the more she is likely to impressive fans.

And that is my little list! There were, of course, other names I wanted to mention today but the goal really was to include women we don’t get to watch and talk about very much! As always, I would love to know what you guys think so leave a comment below or tweet me over @TezangiVictoria telling me who you would have included in this list.
