Bold SummerSlam 2019 Predictions
This weekend one of my personal favourite WWE PPV’s will
take place, SummerSlam. The biggest party of the summer is set to take over Canada
this year and we have a pretty awesome line featuring Hall of Famers, must-see title
collisions, and important matches for an array of current WWE superstars.
Heading into one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, however, what can
fans expect from this weekend's must-see show?
As always, I will be live tweeting throughout this Sunday's SummerSlam PPV and I will be reviewing the show in full next week! For now, you can let me know what your predictions are by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

Bray Wyatt Picks up the Win
While we have bared witness to one on one encounters between
Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor in the past the presence of this new Wyatt has set up
a far greater intense and must-see collision. Fans are hooked on anything Bray
related and his haunting new persona has everyone excited! As two incredibly
skilled superstars, this is a match given enough time could so easily go down as
a highlight of the night and it’s important for both of these men that they
make an IMPACT. Wyatt must pick up the victory here to kick start this new run
on a high and prove a major point, however, the quality of this match is equally
important. This has all the potential to be a great match and the WW will
either keep things short and sweet to show a dominant Wyatt or a lengthy
encounter to highlight how damn good both men are.
Sasha Banks makes a Return
It’s been months since fans last witnessed Sasha Banks on
their screen and with her social media presence stronger than ever and forever
increasing headlines regarding her comeback it really is a waiting game when it
comes to her return date but could SummerSlam be the night the WWE Universe
welcomes back the Boss? With Bayley set to compete in a huge women’s title bout
as well as Becky Lynch this Sunday would be an excellent chance for Banks to
make her return and make an impact in the process taking out one of these women
and setting her sights on gold once again.
Seth Rollins Doesn’t Walk Away as Universal Champion
I will b the first to admit that I wasn’t all too happy at
all to see Brock Lesnar not only win this years MITB Ladder match but go on to
reclaim the Universal Champion. Rollins capturing the title back at Wrestlemania
marked the start of something new on Monday nights and his short reign proved a
great deal! However, with that in mind, I do believe that despite Rollins being
the right man to walk out of Summer Slam this weekend as champion fans will, in fact, see Lesnar continue to stand tall. Regardless of the outcome of this match, its important these two stars end their rivalry this weekend. It's just as important
that Rollins has a standout performance and puts up a true fight with plenty of
heart. In my heart, I would love to see Seth recapture the Universal
championship but it appears as though the Beast still has plenty of work to do
as champ (yet again) and we may have to accept another lengthy reign from Lesnar.
Charlotte Flair vs Trish Stratus Steals the Show
One of the matches I’m most excited about this weekend is the
one on one contest between Charlotte Flair and WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus.
Now, this is a dream match if I ever did see one! As two of the most important
and standout women in the history of the WWE Women’s division, this is a contest
that has fan very excited! The collision between these two women is sure to highlight
just how far women’s wrestling has come in the WWE in a matchup between two of
the biggest names of two different eras. Given the time Stratus and Flair are
given I have no doubt whatsoever this could easily be one of the best matches of
the night and of the year so far. An important and massive draw of a match I can
honestly say I cannot wait to see these two women collide this Sunday.
Kofi Kingston Retains the WWE Championship
A programme that I have really been enjoying recently involved
Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton. While I never truly believed I would have such a
strong interest in this rivalry have connected their history and work from two
thousand and nine so well that everything just makes all the sense in the world
and has made for a great angle! The two have such a great story behind them,
the history is strong, and the chemistry works equally as well! Heading into
this matchup I do also believe that this match could surprise fans and go down
as a highlight encounter of the night but the biggest prediction I have is that
Kingston will walk out still the WWE Champion. This is arguably the most
intense and personal rivalry since Kingston captured the title and walking away
with the win here would be huge. It should also be noted that it seems unlikely
that now will be the right time to once again book Orton as champion.
Shane McMahon Will Impress… Again
Say what you want about Shane McMahon and his current role
in the WWE but there is no denying he most certainly has had a fair degree of
solid performances in the ring this year alone including a Wrestlemania
standout against The Miz. This Sunday McMahon will once again step in the ring
with another fan favourite in the form of Kevin Owens and I have admit that I’m
very much interested in this match! The rivalry and the story as a whole have genuinely
been handled well and while I and many are most certainly over having to watch
so much Shane McMahon content the new role in which Owens has adopted is an
exciting and very entertaining one at that! While I’m not expecting this match
to steal the show it's sure to be a huge win for Owens and the encounter itself,
I do believe will surprise fans in just how solid it is. We can expect some
risky moves pulled out the bag here and McMahon to quite possibly walk out with
another impressive match up behind him this year.
