Money In The Bank Predictions: AJ Styles VS John Cena

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! So we are mid way through the year and this weekend one of the most important pay per views in the wrestling calendar takes place. Money in the bank will air live from the T-Mobile arena in in Las Vegas on the WWE network. The main event will see current champion Roman Reigns defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against his former brother and long time rival, Seth Rollins. The card will also see the tag team championships defended and the two thousand and sixteen Money in the Bank winner will be crowned. All this week I will be uploading prediction posts for every single match set to take place this up and coming Sunday. Each day we will be taking a look into a different match that has been made official. Review and analysing the action we have seen so far between the opponents and discussing the story and feud in detail all to eventually create our final bold predictions ahead of the pay per view on Sunday. Talking of Sunday, throughout the show I will be live tweeting including the kick off show right through to the very end. The following Morning I will upload my full review and reactions for the show along with predictions for the following episode of Monday night RAW. Now, a quick disclaimer; I know that the brand split/extension will be happening next month but throughout these prediction posts this week I won't be talking in full detail about the role those plans will have on the Money in the bank pay per view. Instead I will link bellow any blog posts I have already written that are related to the bran split announcement. As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including the latest RAW review and reactions posts. Finally, you can let me know what your predictions are for every match on the card including the Money in the bank ladder match by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

It's the match we all thought would never happen. The match every wrestling fan has been waiting for for years. This weekend live on the WWE Network, John Cena will go one on one with the phenomenal one, AJ Styles for the very first time. Both these superstars have spent the best of over twelve years making their way up to the top and now, both at the peak of their careers will collide and leave a huge impact at Money in the bank this up and coming Sunday. But who walks out the victor? Will we see AJ Styles rise even higher, defeating the top dog? Or will John Cena once again walk all over the future of the WWE?

John Cena has forever been known as the top dog in the WWE.  Fifteen time world champion, several movie features, public appearances, child hero, the face of the WWE. Throughout his career John Cena has been pushed as the best thing going in the world of pro wrestling by World Wrestling Entertainment but as the future edges closer it looks as though Cena's run at the top may just be slipping. Talents such as Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, and Roman Reigns all threaten John and his top spot however this weekend Cena faces a well lets say phenomenal challenge, when he goes one on one against AJ Styles for the first time ever. A match that does not need a huge story to follow it, this is the perfect story of the companies top guy and a professional wrestling phenomenon. It once again tells the story of a man who has done it all in the WWE earning the right to be named one of the best in history and the man who has travelled the world working for promotions left right and center also earning the right to be named one of the best in the world. It's battle that no one will want to miss and one that promises to be nothing short of a true blockbuster.

It was only less than three weeks ago that we saw John Cena make his much anticipated return to action after spending several months on the sidelines due to an injury. A brief appearance at Wrestlemania assured the Cenation that their leader would be back soon and when he did he would do so with a bang. Now, of course many of us were expecting John to enter something big the night he made his comeback however what he was set to actually do was a question left floating in the air and different answers swinging left. right and centre. Was he to find his way in the World Heavyweight Championship picture? Would he be the final participant in this years Money in the bank ladder match? Or would a feud between himself and current United States champion Rusev make it's own return? Everyone at some point was expecting to see Cena and AJ Styles clash at some point. It was inevitable. These are two of the worlds biggest stars and once the phenomenal one had made his debut for the WWE we were all expecting the pair to collide by the end of the year. Personally, I wasn't expecting their rivalry to kick start so soon. If you would have asked me a couple of months back I would have most certainly have said that a feud between John Cena and AJ Styles would be one much closer to the end of the year. However, the WWE proved me wrong yet again and their timing was actually perfect and the night itself was done also down to perfect.

Since returning to action Cena's booking has actually been rather solid and not so predicable. His brief alliance with the New Day was a fantastic work for both the tag team champions and Cena. His first promo back was well received and made us all remember what we had been missing during Monday night RAW every week and the build up to this huge match up against AJ Styles has been perfect. So far nothing in this feud has felt rushed, heavy or over done. The WWE have for once managed to make Cena's opponent actually look strong and while this feud does come across similar in ways to Cena's fantastic rivalry with Kevin Owens a year ago it's one that has gone down amazingly well. This weekend everyone is expecting a match up nothing short of phenomenal. Fans around the world have been waiting for this moment for a long time and expectations are high. This of course will also be the perfect challenge for Cena and his surgically repaired torn rotator cuff. Styles' style in the ring and fast paste move set will keep Cena on his toes and put his body to the test.

Since his arrival in the WWE AJ Styles has been on fire. An average performance at the Royal Rumble, a decent feud with Chris Jericho that saw him both compete at Wrestlemania and score two victories over a certain future WWE Hall of famer. We also saw Styles compete in yet another well received feud against Roman Reigns were two solid potential match of the year candidates were created. While the phenomenal one is yet to capture WWE gold his early rivalries and matches have been more than enough to turn heads and leave Styles making a huge impact in World Wrestling Entertainment. As we have touched on already today, a feud between Styles and Cena was inevitable. It was only a matter of time before these two collided and the WWE made sure not to waste any time jumping right on it the moment Cena made his return. Now, so far throughout this feud Styles has continued to keep momentum at a high. His heel turn was so perfectly done and believable that I couldn't fault it at all. If you read my RAW Highlights post for this show (witch will be linked down bellow) you would know that I certainly was not expecting the heel turn. Personally, I wasn't expecting to see Styles turn until much much later in the year and so it was a complete shock for me personally. It's twists and turns like this that have me at the edge of my seat and remind why I love pro wrestling so much. Throughout his feud with Roman Reigns, AJ showed that he can adapt his attitude to a situation perfectly. The longer the feud with the champ went on the darker Styles grew. We could clearly see a change in him and now we have seen that go even high and develop into an even stronger darker side during this feud with John Cena.

The alliance of Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and AJ Styles is an interesting one. Their chemistry is absolutely fantastic thanks to their long history, it's almost impossible to dislike them because of how brilliantly captivating all three superstars are. As a long time Bullet Club fan seeing these three superstars make such an impact in the WWE puts a rather large smile on my face and makes me very very proud. Of course I am still waiting for Fin Balor to come along and join the party but right now I am enjoying every moment of this faction. The night that saw Cena return to the WWE was one that saw a segment so well done and so well received. The little moment between Cena and Styles, Anderson and Gallows coming out to change the feel of the night and the shock heel turn from Styles; everything was  done so so perfectly and the build up to this weekends huge match up is one that the WWE have manged to do greatly keeping the story simple.

When talking about John Cena VS AJ Styles we have to mention the Club. They are bound to have an impact in this match just as much as they have done the feud so far during the build up. The match itself is sure to be nothing short of brilliant. These are as we have already said a thousand times, two of the biggest stars in pro wrestling. It's a dream match and the expectations are ever so high. We can expect to see the pair given a strong amount of time to compete and deliver what is sure to be a serious contender for match of the year. From the moment the first superstars music hit to the moment the end bell rings everyone will be on the edge of their seats hooked to the action. There are of course plenty of ways this match could end. We could see a disqualification ending with the Club attacking Cena in the closing moments, the club could have an impact in the end result assisting
Styles in the win or of course Finn Balor could make his own appearance. Now, personally I would much rather a nice clean ending. I think we can all agree that this weekend we have to see Styles go over. Cena wont suffer badly from a loss what so ever an in fact having Styles win will only enable this feud to develop even more. If we could see Styles win either clean or by the assistance of the Club than we could at least get two more matches out of this feud hopefully on featuring on Monday night RAW, possibly a rematch the night after or the following week. As for Finn Balor, I hate to say it but we are just going to have to wait a little longer for his arrival. If I was booking it, I would keep Cena and Styles feuding for a tad longer, giving them one more match (preferably their third) at the next pay per view and at that show we get to see Balor debut and slowly we can work on building up a SummerSlam match up against Styles and Balor. I am planning on writing a full post talking about how I would book AJ Styles VS Finn Balor so if you would like to see that leave a comment bellow. As for this weekend, I am expecting something truly amazing. Cena and Styles sure won't disappoint and the end result of this match is sure to be interesting with literally anything being possible.

As always, I would love to know what your predictions are for both this match and every other match on the Money in the Bank card so feel free to leave a comment bellow or tweet me at @TezangiVictoria.
