Money In The Bank Predictions: MITB Ladder Match

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! So we are mid way through the year and this weekend one of the most important pay per views in the wrestling calendar takes place. Money in the bank will air live from the T-Mobile arena in in Las Vegas on the WWE network. The main event will see current champion Roman Reigns defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against his former brother and long time rival, Seth Rollins. The card will also see the tag team championships defended and the two thousand and sixteen Money in the Bank winner will be crowned. All this week I will be uploading prediction posts for every single match set to take place this up and coming Sunday. Each day we will be taking a look into a different match that has been made official. Review and analysing the action we have seen so far between the opponents and discussing the story and feud in detail all to eventually create our final bold predictions ahead of the pay per view on Sunday. Talking of Sunday, throughout the show I will be live tweeting including the kick off show right through to the very end. The following Morning I will upload my full review and reactions for the show along with predictions for the following episode of Monday night RAW. Now, a quick disclaimer; I know that the brand split/extension will be happening next month but throughout these prediction posts this week I won't be talking in full detail about the role those plans will have on the Money in the bank pay per view. Instead I will link bellow any blog posts I have already written that are related to the bran split announcement. As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including the latest RAW review and reactions posts. Finally, you can let me know what your predictions are for every match on the card including the Money in the bank ladder match by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

This weekend the annual Money in the Bank ladder match will take place live on the WWE Network. Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, and Cesaro will all compete for the chance to become two thousand and sixteen Mr Money in the bank but who walks out the victor? In today's blog post we are going to be taking a look back at what each competitor has been up to over the past month and what their chances look like ahead of the Money in the Bank pay per view this weekend.

On the night after Extreme Rules the WWE did a fantastic job creating a great start to the build up to the Money in the Bank ladder match. Practically dedicated the show to the up and coming pay per view six qualifying matches took place over the first week and with the right stars qualifying and the matches themselves actually being really strong and entertaining. However, a week later and they managed to completely flip the whole thing. The momentum dropped, they ditched the seventh competitor and every match in the build up became stale, predicable and boring. Now, I have manged to remain interested and entertained throughout mainly because of the superstars competing this weekend. Everyone single one of these guys have earned the position in this match and all deserve to be there. What is also brilliant about this years Money in the bank ladder match is that any of the competitors could walk out the winner. For the first time in a long time there isn't a clear winner and I love that. I love unpredictability and I love how any of these superstars could win and storyline's over the next year would be jumping out left right and centre. Now, while I'm a big fan of all these superstars there is one that I have to completely back this weekend, Kevin Owens. I think it's safe to say that a great deal of fans will be backing Owens this weekend. If you read a post I wrote a couple of months back I mentioned Owens along with three other superstars competing in the money in the bank ladder match that he deserved to be a competitor this year and I pitted him as my early favourite. Over the past eight weeks nothing has changed and I once again sit here making it perfectly clear that Owens is the favourite. Looking at what he's done over the past year since debuting on the main roster, all the brilliant matches, the fantastic storyline's and feuds, you have to take Owens a serious contender this weekend. The potential storyline's that could await him as Mr Money in the bank really are amazing and I'm confident that he would have a fantastic run holding that brief case.

We do of course have to look at other possibilities and another favourite heading into this years Money in the Bank ladder match is without a doubt the lunatic fringe, Dean Ambrose. With the WWE Universe firmly on his side and amazing potential storyline's heading his way if he does manage to score the victory Ambrose is for sure in the talks as another top contender this weekend. This will be Ambrose third money in the bank ladder match while he has come close every time he has competed this year looks to be his year. With his former partners Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins competing in a top feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship there is a door wide open for Ambrose and winning the money in the bank ladder match means opportunities will be coming at him everywhere. One of the main reasons I personally would love to see Ambrose walk out the victor is because of that Shield triple threat we have all been waiting a million years for. If Ambrose is able too climb the ladder and retrieve the brief case there is a huge chance that he could cash in latter on in the night either during or after Reigns and Rollins battle it out in the main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship increasing the chances of Ambrose chances of finally capturing the most important prize in the WWE Ambrose is the only member of the shield not to have his moment at the top holding the championship and nothing would make me happier than to see him finally get his moment. If a miracle does manage to happen and Ambrose both wins the money in the bank ladder match and cash in latter on we can almost be certain that our Shield triple threat could take place at the SummerSlam pay per view in a couple of months time.

Cesaro and Sami Zayn are two more fan favourites. Both coming from NXT they have managed to win over the fans thanks to their brilliant in ring skills and likeability. The WWE took their time in getting it right with Cesaro but as time goes by they seem to be getting it more and more right. Turning him baby face was the first step in improving Cesaro's WWE career and since his tag team work with Tyson Kidd he has only grown more and more in popularity and his booking has only gotten stronger also. Since his return in April Cesaro has been competing in strong matches almost every week building momentum. He spend a great deal of time chasing after the Intercontinental Championship and while he did not walk away with the title he did manage to keep momentum at a high and move onto something even bigger. The money in the bank ladder match. We have seen Cesaro competing in these matches in the past and he is still yet to walk out with a victory. Could this year be his year? I do believe that out of all the years he has competed this is the most likely. Cesaro really is on a high right now and with a change in character and his level of popularity if he was to win it would go down perfectly fine with the WWE Universe. However, saying that I don't believe this will be his year again. Yes, they could make it work easily but there are two other superstars that would just be much easier to fit into storyline's and much more likely to walk out Mr Money in the bank. The same thing goes for Sami Zayn. This will be his first Money in the bank ladder match and so seeing how he holds himself is going to be interesting. He is a superstar with great experience fan support, and skill so his over all performance is sure to be something that will stand out. I don't believe this will be his year at all but I do believe he will be one of the stand outs of this years ladder match.

Alberto Del Rio and Chris Jericho are the perfect heel to put into this years Money in the Bank ladder match. They have the most experience in these matches and both ( Jericho in particular) bring a lot of character to this match. They have a decent amount of history each other and the other competitors
and they will play a great role. They both bring in a different style, changing things up a little and they are the guys that will keep everything worried that their favourite won't walk away with victory. Now, I don't believe either of these two will walk away Mr Money in the bank this year but at the same time I don't think either of them need it. Storyline's for both these men are easy to create over the next several months and they sure don't need the money in the bank brief case to keep their storyline's strong. If I'm being honest I wasn't expecting either of these superstars to be competing in this years ladder match. If we are talking heels I would have expected Baron Corbin to take one of their places just because I think he would have benefited from it much much more than both Del Rio and Jericho. However, I can totally see why they were added as competitors to this match and like I said, the role they play this weekend will be an important one.

There is a part of me that really does feel as though this could be one of the greatest Money in the Bank ladder matches in history. We have a bunch of very different superstars all at different stages of their career and all having different levels of experience in this match alone. There are so many different ways this match could end and literally any one of these superstars could walk out Mr Money in the Bank. Like I said, I do believe that it is a toss up between Ambrose and Owens and personally I have to go with KO. However, I would love to know what you guys think. So feel free to leave a comment bellow letting me know what your predictions are for this match and every other match on the card and who you would like to see pick up the big victory or tweet me at @TezangiVictoria.
