Last Week in Wrestling

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and as always had an awesome weekend! So it is the start of a fresh week and just like we do every Monday, it's time to take a look back at the last week in wrestling, however, this time we're going to be doing things a little different. Not much really happened this week in wrestling so what I'm going to be doing is focusing on what I usually do and recapping the highlight headlines and big news topics but I'm also going to be taking a look at the best matches and stars across all wrestling promotions including the British Wrestling scene. This is something I'm considering as a weekly thing here on my blog if you guys like the idea. I have some interesting posts coming up this week but I will also be bringing back my RAW and Smackdown LIVE highlights post this Wednesday after the week off! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including all of last weeks posts. Finally, you can get involved and tell me what you thought of last week in wrestling by leaving a comment bellow or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria

WWE News

Triple H Given more Creative Control

The biggest news story to come out of last week was the news surrounding Triple H being given more creative control. The knowledge of Vince McMahon stepping down from WWE work a little is something that still is a weird sentence to say in itself but not surprising. With the return of the XFL, McMahon can't do everything all at once and take on full responsibility for everything and so it has been revealed that Triple H is being given more power in the WWE starting out with 205 LIVE. Full creative control of the 205 LIVE show is something that could prove to be one of the best moves the WWE has made in some time. All you have to do is take a look at what Triple H has done with NXT to know that he has everything in him to finally lead 205 LIVE on a path of success. I personally have started paying more attention to 205 LIVE and so I'm super excited to see what he brings to the show and the small changes we will see in the future with Hunter having more power and control. es

Mixed Match Challenge Continues to Impress

Even though I haven't spoken about it a great deal here on my blog, the Mixed Match Challenge is something I have been seriously enjoying the past month. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every single episode, the teams work amazingly well together and the quality of the match is actually fantastic. Last week Mandy Rose and Goldust took on the team of Jimmy Uso and Naomi and while the RoseGold team didn't walk out with the victory they were for me the standouts. Their chemistry is simply fantastic and they work amazingly well together. Watching them on the mixed match challenge and how well they jelled I was totally left wanting to see more from them. Many have been seriously impressive since arriving on the main roster as part of Absolution but I personally would love to see the WWE focus on building some work between Mandy and Goldust following their performance during their mixed match challenge match up. The match itself was brilliant. While the wrestling wasn't the best we've seen in the tournament the match had everything you could ask for. Humour, good quality wrestling and an ending that made sense along with so much character. I can honestly say I really do look forward to watching Lana and Rusev take on Bayley and Elias in this weeks episode!

Ronda Rousey and Stephanie McMahon

Ronda Rousey has continued to be a big talking point in the world of pro wrestling this week as I'm sure will come as no surprise to anyone. Following her debut at the Royal Rumble pay per view we have all been sitting back waiting to see her arrive on either RAW or Smackdown LIVE and while are still being left waiting as she finishes up filming we do know that Ronda will now be apart of the WWE full time but there have also been rumours that one of the purposes behind her debut storyline will be to boost Stephanie McMahon. With Stephanie Looking to become a mainstream star Ronda is said to be the name to help boost those chances. Now, work between these two women in the ring and through storyline's is inevitable and to be honest I actually look forward to their collisions but again the news is rather unsurprising.

Coming Up this Week

RAW and Smackdown LIVE

Here is a new little section that I want to start including in this blog post every week. This will be the part of the article where I will take a look at some of the things we can expect coming up over the next few days in the world of pro wrestling and first up we have to take a look at Smackdown LIVE. After the twist ending to last weeks episode, it was revealed that AJ Styles will now defend his WWE Championship at Fastlane next month in a triple threat against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. However, it has since been revealed that the match will now become a fatal four way with the winner of the Baron Corbin vs Dolph Ziggler match being added to the title picture. Personally, I'm not a fan of the idea. I do really believe that Smackdown LIVE is in serious need of some new faces and a shakeup. The main event picture is weak and while I'm confident this title match at Fastlane has all the potential in the world to be one of the best of the year it does feel as though the WWE are just throwing names into this match for the sake of it and as of right now I'm not sold on the idea at all. However, both Ziggler and Corbin will benefit from being apart of a big match at Fastlane where they will have the opportunity to showcase their talent.

Later tonight in this weeks episode of Monday Night RAW the second chance qualifying matches will also take place where Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Apollo Crews, and Matt Hardy will compete to earn the final spot in the two thousand and eighteen men's Elimination chamber match and of course the last spot has to be filled by Balor. He is one hundred and ten percent the right pick!

Chain Reaction

This week British Wrestling promotion Defiant Wrestling will hold their LIVE February PPV Chain Reaction which again is sure to be a must show and interesting show. I haven't enjoyed the product massively the past few weeks but the show does look to have a couple of promising matches and of course, the team defiant vs Team IPW matchup should make for an interesting progression in the storyline. The night will also see Kay Lee Ray defend her defiant Wrestling Women's championship against seventeen-year-old Milli McKenzie and general Manager Stu Benett will be back on our screen. At the moment I'm not sure whether or not I will be live tweeting throughout this show however regardless I will be talking about this match at some point after. Remember Chain Reaction takes place on the eighteenth of February!

And that was last week in wrestling! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including all of last weeks posts. Finally, you can get involved and tell me what you thought of last week in wrestling by leaving a comment bellow or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria
